I called Optum, Yorktown, for the first time, to schedule a dermatology appointment. They asked me what was the reason and I explained I had (3) white tiny cysts around my eye area and years before I had a tiny cyst on an eyelid, did not pay much attention and after sometime it grew, became very uncomfortable and at times painful, it required surgery to be removed. The day of the appointment I arrived at the facility minutes before the appointment The waiting room is a very large area with a receptionist desk in the middle. I was told to have a seat. There was a man sitting there who after a while got up and got in one of the elevators. I was the only patient there and waited for about 30 minutes before I got up an approached the receptionist desk to find out how much longer I had to wait. She told me to go around the partition behind her desk to a second waiting room that was empty at that time. I had a seat and waited for another 10 to 15 minutes. I was getting impatient and then another patient comes in. About 10/15 minutes later the nurse called that patient. I was ready to leave but my husband convinced me to stay. After another 10 minutesI was finally called and as I was approaching the room there was a woman in a white coat by the door. I assumed was the doctor, who look at me and said those are not cysts that is Milea, Keratin deposits(I had never heard about it) we cannot treat you must see an esthetician. She also told me if she had to treat me she would have to charge a very high amount. When I got home I googled Milea and found an article that described it as tiny cysts and advised a visit to a dermatologist. I also found out that the woman I saw was not a doctor but a physician assistant. I decided to remove those cysts myself. Weeks later I received information from my insurance company that they had received a bill ($300.00) and had paid $83.02 to a doctor, whose name I did not recognize for services provided to me. I called my insurance company to let them know I had not seen that doctor and when they informed about the office location I realized was about that visit to OPTUM where I was not seen by a doctor and did not received any treatment. I filled a greivance w/insurance company. Later I received another bill from Optum to pay another $40.00. I was outraged and felt deceived I asked to set up an appointment with a doctor dermatologist, not a physician assistant, waited for about 1hour with no apparent reason, the place was almost empty, did not see a doctor, did not get treatment and they had the nerve to charge the insurance company $300.00 and send me a bill for $40.00. I called the office to complain to the office manager and the receptionist told me she was at another location and she did not know when she would be in. I left a message for the manager but I have not heard from her. They sent the $40.00 bill to a collection agency. IT IS DEMORALIZING TO REALIZE THAT THE PRIORITY OF A MEDICAL FACILITY IS JUST TO MAKE MONEY NO MATTER HOW. read more

My doctor, a person whose dedication and expertise I respect, gave up a small practice to join MKMG with some reluctance. He knew he would lose the ability to control much of what he had, but gain the exposure, technology and benefits the large, interconnected group offered. Several aspects are the negatives expected - call in menu cascade, longer hold times and revolving personnel at the front end. At the office end, his regular nursing staff and reception staff in the Yorktown location provide the best GP experience and responsive medical care you could ever hope for. This is NOT a review of my doctors at CareMount. For the most part, they've been incredibly responsive and caring and skilled. Five stars to them. This IS a review of CareMount and its ham-handed approach to medical care. Calls for an appointment ring on and on while patients wait and wait and wait. It's impossible to call my doctors' staff directly. My Patient Portal hasn't been updated since 2016. And, perhaps most egregious, visits are closely regulated in 10-minute increments making care oddly impersonal and rushed. This was once a far better medical group before it was taken over by CareMount which seems far more intent on profits than good medicine. read more

This office is an absolute nightmare. Trying to call them for any reason (setting up an appointment, refilling a prescription, paying a bill etc.) and I can guarantee you that you'll be on hold for over 20 minutes. After being on hold for what seems like forever, you can expect to speak to consistently rude and irritated staff members. It has been this way for years and has shown no signs of getting better. My Doctor, who I like a lot ( Erika Yamada) was away so I agreed to see the nurse practitioner. Mistake! she could not have been more disinterested in me, did not listen, no eye contact, could not wait to get me out. When did doctors lose their compassion for patients??? I had to do a blood test. After 3 weeks of no letter, no calls, I finally called the office. The person on the phone had the nerve to actually say to me: "well, what took you so long to call?" Ehm...The doctor is supposed to call when the results are in...? She said that my doctor would be back on Monday and would review my results and call me back. On Wednesday I ended up having to call again and finally got my results from the assistant, not even from my doctor, which is fine. Apparently, the nurse practitioner went into labor but no one ever gave a rat's ass about some blood results sitting there somewhere. No one thought of informing me that the reason I dont have my results yet is that my doctor is on vacation and the nurse practitioner is on maternity leave. I got ignored! meanwhile I wonder what is wrong with me! While I like my doctor, the people working in the office could learn some bedside manners. I would give this office one star if not for my doctor and her assistant Maureen that I finally got to talk to today. read more

Let me start by saying I like my Doctors very much. Was the main reason I go to this practice. Now let's talk about service. They have the worst billing and customer service department I have ever dealt with. As long as they just need to bill you a copay your fine. Anything else watch out. I have knee troubles so I went in to try the PRP treatment. I was told insurance doesn't cover it and I would have to pay the $560 for the treatment up front. No problem at this point I'd try anything. Naturally they submitted it to my insurance and hadn't applied the payment I made to my account. We eventually got it worked out. In November I go in for Sym Visc injections in both my knees. I get the medication through Express Scripts specialty pharmacy as it's less than through Caremount. Well I get billed for the medication by Caremount. I call up and explain my pharmacy supplied the medication and they said they would investigate. Well I call back and I'm told I have to pay till I reach my deductible. This is totally unrelated. I'm than told they'll send it back for investigation. How different is it going to be. Doesn't anyone there know what they're doing? I was in billing and customer service for 35 years and I would be embarrassed to have a piece of my business be so inept. If you like your doctors great but don't think anyone else knows what they're doing. read more

Waste of time urgent-Yorktown Hts. care saw me one week ago, I had a fever and chest congestion the PT basically told me it was viral and gave me nose spray after taking my temp One week later my symptoms worsened and I went to Rye Walk in urgent care,they fixed the problem! They confirmed I did have an infection hence green sputum nose and chest!!!! They Gave me anti biotics, an inhaler, and; I was so bad I also needed prednisone To reduce inflammation asap Needless to say I'm feeling better after ONE day !
