I wish I could give 10 stars!!…read more My husband recommended Dr. McKenna after I had several bad experiences with other dentists, and I'm so glad he did! From my very first phone call to the office, I felt cared for. Kelly answered my call, listened to everything I was going through, and managed to get me in for an emergency appointment within a few hours!!! Dr. McKenna was absolutely wonderful. He truly listened, explained every step clearly, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. His assistant (I feel so awful forgetting her name!) was just as amazing. So kind, gentle, and reassuring. You can really tell how well the whole team works together. Before starting the root canal treatment, Dr. McKenna explained every step and made sure I was fully numb, something my last dentist didn't even bother with, even though my filling was deep. Dr. McKenna fixed the poor filling from that previous dental office and discovered bacteria under the tooth that was causing my pain. My previous dentist had insisted nothing was wrong and left me to deal with on and off pain and no antibiotics for months!! I then went to another practice, as the pain became excruciating, same thing and said I had to wait at least until the end of the week until next months schedule opens for root canals. However, Dr. McKenna found the real issue right away and treated it properly. While explaining the X-rays and what they show. I'm still healing, but I already feel so much better and finally heard. I can't thank Dr. McKenna and his team enough. They've earned a new lifelong patient! I will be bringing my newborn son here once his teeth come through and recommending to other family and friends :D Thank you for your kindness, professionalism, and for helping me.

I wholeheartedly recommend Dorneyville Dental…read more I've been going to them regularly over the years. They say you don't know what you got til it's gone and that's true, when I decided to try another dentistry, Gentle Family Dentistry on Cedar Crest. My first visit there I was told I had 19 cavities and it was going to cost me more than $3,500 to fix it all - and of course they were very quick to offer me a finance plan through a "3rd party" company. Needless to say I ran back to Dorneyville as fast as I can. Dorneyville has a great staff and they do a good job, fair, and they don't try to add on more stuff for you than you actually need. In fact they told me I only have two areas that they'll keep a watch over and fillings aren't even needed. I had them retake xrays and examine my teeth, as well as re-clean my teeth since they didn't feel clean at all after having it done at the other place.

To preface, this is my first time writing a review, let alone a negative one! After being a patient…read morehere for over three years, I'm done. Suburban Dental sells faulty products and is an unaccommodating cash grab. The office manager will not get on the phone to speak with me, despite making unreasonable financial decisions. Additionally, they provided incorrect information regarding my insurance coverage, argued with me and then dismissed me when I tried to explain that my insurance provided partial coverage--then required that I pay in full. As a sanity check, I called my insurance provider for a second time to confirm coverage, and then called Suburban Dental the following day to explain that I was creating a claim. The office manager then offered to create a claim for me. Their procedures do not make any sense; why did I have to go through all of this trouble to begin with?   To explain why I say 'faulty products': I've purchased three different retainers--not because I just adore retail therapy--but because they kept partially cracking upon removing them. Their retainers are a very delicate, thin piece of plastic that I am very careful with removing. I even asked their hygienists to show me how to properly take them out to prevent breakage. However, within approximately 3 years of owning them, the bottom retainer broke after having it for ~1.5 years, and the top retainer broke after ~2.5 years. As a comparison, I had a previous retainer from a different dentist that lasted over 10+ years and never had any issues.   To explain why I say 'cash grab' and 'unaccommodating': The first time my retainer cracked, I was charged full price ($225) and was 'conveniently' informed afterwards that I could have brought in the molds from when they first created them and only been charged a 'discount' of $125. Considering the fact that they created my retainer, had my molds on file and knew I was unaware of this perk, it seems this was a way to take advantage of a patient. Recently, my top retainer broke and I relayed this information to a receptionist who tried to plea my issue to the office manager, who refused to speak with me on the phone. Despite initially overcharging me and distributing a faulty product, I was told I'd have to pay another $125 for a top retainer. I feel that because both retainers cracked the same way within such a short period of time from simply removing them, they should've been accommodated for. For the $450 price point (I am now investing $800 into retainers), the quality of the products combined with the lack of professionalism and accountability from this management is unacceptable and arguably exploitative.     This practice clearly refuses to provide ethical, quality care to their patients. I'll be finding a different dentist, and I hope this message prevents others from wasting their time and money!

The office manager is condescending and rude if a patient comes to you with an issue you do your best to rectify the situation not blame the patient in your condescending tone. The silence on the other end of the phone also couldn't be more unprofessional. Looking at all the previous reviews there seems to be an underlying issue with the office staff. Unfortunate for the Dentist as I'm sure he constantly looses patients and he is exceptionably professional .

Our insurance recently changed, and the office called me the day before the appointment requesting the updated information. When they first called, I explained that I didn't have the new insurance information available at that moment but would call back later that day or the following morning to provide it. Despite that, I received another call later the same day asking for the same information, even though I had already committed to calling back. I called the office to provide the information and also expressed that I was frustrated by the repeated calls. My concern was never about the importance of having accurate insurance information--I completely understand that. I work in customer service myself, and I appreciate the need for accurate records. My frustration was simply that I had already told the office I would call back, yet I felt pressured before I had the opportunity to do so. Rather than acknowledging my concern, the office manager spoke to me in a way that felt dismissive and condescending. She even asked if I "always talk to my customers the way I was talking to her," despite the fact that I remained respectful throughout the conversation. I never raised my voice or spoke disrespectfully; I simply expressed my frustration with how the situation was handled. As a parent, first impressions matter when choosing healthcare providers for my children. Unfortunately, this interaction left me with little confidence in the office's approach to communication and customer service, so I chose to cancel our appointments and seek dental care elsewhere.
