Dr. Kapatais was referred to me by a friend whose referrals I trust... so I gave in and went. I honestly didn't know if she'd spend two minutes with me or even do the testing because doctors seem to always want to tell you "you're fine" and send you on your way. I know I am a pretty healthy girl, but I was really interested to see my deficiencies. Not only did Dr.K listen to me, she helped me navigate through my fear of flying, which came up randomly because she actually talks to you and helped me understand more natural and realistic ways of dealing with my health, which is what I was so excited about. I have never felt like a doctor actually cared about me, until I met Dr.K.

Pleasant and continued as his patients when he moved to Waterford. Our sons (in their 20's) also are patients and absolutely love him too. Shay always makes sure that our prescriptions are sent in on time and to say they're understanding would be an understatement. Especially with my severe anxiety. They're so kind and are an awesome team. They run the office and everything and do it with patience and kindness. They are on top of everything, if you need an appointment, lab work, etc. We love Atchoo Medical Practice and thank God for them, seriously. Dr. Atchoo is so funny and easy to talk to and Shay is a rockstar in the office and on top of emails/phone calls. She has been easily accessible as well as her nurses Darlene and Sue. I had been to an urgent care 5 times, and had been misdiagnosed all along, and she correctly diagnosed me in one visit. Got me on the right treatment, returned my call on the weekend. In another instance, I had some abnormal labs, she contacted me at 8am, and her nurses got me into a specialist within days, sent all my records and communicated with me the whole time. He's thorough when he knows what he's talking about, honest when he doesn't, and doesn't dance around with platitudes. I'm going to guess that's a bit off-putting by people who are used to being coddled, but for me, I really appreciate his approach. I don't want to be pals and talk about the Tigers game for 8 of the 10 minutes he's in the room. I want to not feel sick. Done and done. Getting a same-day appointment isn't too difficult if you've got something legit, and though it may not be with the Doctor himself, his PA is at least as good. I've never once felt like "Okay, go get the doctor" when I've seen her. I also appreciate not being left in the waiting room forever, or being brought back near my appointment, only to be left in the exam room for 45 minutes. When I've asked for a same-day appointment, the longest I've waited was maybe 20 minutes total. With appointments, it's usually about 10 minutes. I'm pretty quick to change doctors when something seems amiss, but I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever been to a practice that's instilled -- and more importantly, earned -- nearly implicit trust.

They gave me a steroid shot, put me on some meds and sent me on my way. When things became worse, I went to visit a second Dermatologist, who then recommended I see an Allergist. Blood tests were always normal, no allergies ever came up and it got to a point where the doctors would just tell me, "I don't know what it is. Take these meds and hopefully it'll go away on its own." After seeing 5 doctors multiple times over the course of 7 to 8 months, my mom recommended I fly back home to Michigan (I live in Texas) to see her Primary Care Provider. After hesitation and thinking to myself, "Why would I spend money to fly all the way home to see someone who will probably run the same tests?," I made the appointment and booked my flight. ONE VISIT, ONE APPOINTMENT, and I received an emailed report and phone call of the exact issue, the causes and the treatment. Nurse Practitioner Tamika Morrow was very thorough, professional and was sure to follow-up throughout my 3 month treatment plan that was given to me. Upon completing the treatment, my hives were completely gone. I hate that it took 8 months of wasted money dealing with incompetent doctors who only did surface level requirements but I'm grateful that Synergy Health & Wellness was able to get me back to good health. Great service. Great staff. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone and will be flying back to Michigan annually for my regular health checkins. I wouldn't trust anyone else.
