The young woman working the front desk provided some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I came in with an appointment for a mask fitting since I work as a nurse, and she told me they didn't have anyone available and didn't have my mask - without even bothering to check. She just pointed me to a different location and sent me on my way. I drove to CareNow at Mueller & Burnet, where they also said they couldn't do mask fittings. Mueller then told me they recommend bringing the mask from my hospital, which was information the original front desk should have mentioned in the first place instead of wasting my time. Here's where it gets worse: My delivery receipt showed my mask had been delivered to this St. David's location all along. I drove back (40 minutes round trip) to retrieve it. When I returned and showed the same front desk employee the delivery confirmation, she got immediately defensive and claimed she'd been working the past three days and hadn't seen ANY mail. She dismissed the evidence right in front of her face, sat there clicking her nails with an attitude like she was annoyed that I dared to ask her to do her job. Then the manager came back--with my mail with my name on it - proving it was there the entire time. Did this employee apologize? No. She made excuses and showed zero accountability for wasting my time and gas money. This employee's laziness, attitude, and refusal to simply check before sending patients away is completely unacceptable. She needs serious retraining or shouldn't be in a customer-facing role. Horrible experience. I was given an estimated wait time of 15 minutes and was not seen for 2 hours. Cedric McClinton NP was unprofessional and convinced that he knows all. McClinton was unwilling to listen to the full patient history and refuse to order a simple diagnostic test. They are very slow in seeing patients. I showed up at 8:20 and there were 2 people ahead of me. At 8:34 I was informed it would be 30-45 minute wait. During that time 2 people came from the offices who were seen. At 9:09, I checked to see how much longer and was told 15 to 20 more minutes. Went in for some lacerations. Both the LMRT and MD had the same last name and I suspect was a mother/daughter. Dr. Karina Gutierrez Lopez cleaned and stapled one of the lacerations but not the second one. They were 1/2 inch away from each other. She put antibiotic ointment on the wound and placed a bandage over it. I was told not to get it wet for at least 24 hours. After 48 hours I removed the bandage and noticed she did nothing to the second laceration. I refused to revisit this location so I went to another facility to remove the staples and they asked if a student performed the procedure when they saw it. They also said the other laceration would leave a large scar because she didn't do anything to close it. Terrible quality of care. read more

The place didn't seem crowded yet I was seen about 30 minutes after my appointment time (remote check-in with SMS notifications about your place in line is a great thing they offer). There was a lot of wait for not much interactions once in the exam room. It was absolutely freezing cold. A couple of patients and I stayed standing in the hallway hub to warm up, multiple times. A gentleman had to leave as he was so cold. Wasn't offered any water although I showed up for dehydration. Didn't even go through the paperwork they sent me home with besides a referral (which covered 1/3 of a page out of 5 pages printed out). I will not go back there for sure. read more

Not sure why all the negative reviews. I get it, when you are in pain and expecting service that takes a while you tend to get angry. This is my first time using urgent care instead of the ER. I love it. CareNow had an easy online registration. They had my appointment in less than 15 minutes after registering. Once I got there, I filled out only one document, waited maybe 45 minutes and had the best medical service in my life. The nurses there were all so nice. The one who stitched me up was calming and pleasant. She did a great job and described everything she was doing and gave me options. Nothing like what I have experienced in the past with ER service, where they just tell you what you are going to get. Plus, I love that this is just half a mile from me. Who thought going to the doctors for stitches could be so easy and painless. This is my go to urgent care now. They rock, and are so much better than ER. Recommend it 1000% read more

STAY AWAY NO MATTER HOW URGENT! I went in looking for relief for my throat that was closed and raw after 5 days of rest and OTC medications that weren't helping. I have blue cross blue shield which is a pretty decent insurance and I was charged 380 dollars for a swab for strep "after insurance." Looked at my bank account afterward and the charge was 395? Then when I went on their website and found that they scammed me after taking a look at their price breakdown. The price for a standard visit is 160 dollars, which mind you is already ridiculously high, and a standard visit includes TWO in house tests? I tried to call back three days later to get a refund and they have NO RECORD OF ME IN THE SYSTEM. Not with my name, not even with the patient ID number I was given on my overview sheet. Where did my charge go, how am I not in your system? Test came back negative, they tried to send me on my way with nothing but a pat on the back. I later found out that after spending Christmas with family they all tested positive for strep? Phony test y'all had there. The staff was beyond rude and made me feel so uncomfortable, especially since I was the last patient of the day after they closed, but hey why don't we forget the fact that I waited an hour to be seen and only had one person ahead of me. I spoke to a friend who used to work for St David's and she explained that this is how they get you- they call themselves an "urgent care" but they are NOT A CLINIC! They are an emergency room under St David's Hospital that advertise with the words "urgent care." The worst excuse for a medical care establishment I've ever seen. Let me preface this message, I have never left a review on yelp before, ever. But this place deserves it. Firstly, the receptionist is completely incompetent and rude. We made an appointment online, when we got into the office she said there were 3 people in front of us and the wait would be about 45 mins. We got a text to come to the desk an hour later and then she said "idk why you got that text, didn't come from me, there's still 4 people in front of you" and when I asked how there were now more people in front of us after waiting an hour she said "there's nothing I can do if they aren't discharging people" that wasn't my question but okay. Another hour and a half passes and people are being called back. 4 more by my count so I go to the desk again and ask about the wait and now she says there's 2 or 3 people in front of us. So I said I don't understand how that's possible you said 3 originally, then 4 and since then I've seen more than that go back how are there still that many people and she just kept repeating if they don't discharge people there's nothing I can do and I'm like okay how are you guys continuing to call other people back then? Made zero sense she was just stupid and stuttering over her words. I also heard her behind her desk say "Jesus fucking Christ" and complain about her job. During our prolonged wait time the doctors all got a pizza delivery and we could literally see them all sitting there eating for like 45 mins. If you're going to all take a lunch break at the same time then either you need to make it known you're closed for that hour, or ensure all of your patience are taken care of first. Anyway after 5 freaking hours they call us and tell us that there's nothing they can do for the issue we need help with EVEN THOUGH I WROTE IT ON MY FORM WHEN I GOT THERE 5 WHOLE HOURS PRIOR AND THEY HAD US WAIT THE WHOLE FREAKING TIME FOR THEM TO JUST TELL US WE NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I went to the CareNow Urgent Care in Round Rock, Tx. While doctor was nice as well as nurse, front desk staff needs a class in customer service. I am extremely disappointed in the bill for service from this facility. If you have insurance, (mine was Blue Cross Blue Shield) they bill insurance for $838. I was there for 30 minutes and got a flu/covid test. BCBS discounts it down to $395 which was my portion. If you just self pay, cash rate is $185. How is this right? $185 is still even outrageous for a flu/covid combo test. Seems outrageous that something worth $185 gets marked up for insurance to close to $1K. Buyer Beware! Just go somewhere else. These are emergency room prices. I will not be back and will let everyone I know not to go here. read more

A word of warning. If you check in online and you get a text letting you know they are "ready for you to come in," understand it does not mean you'll be seen within a reasonable amount of time. As I (wrongly) understood the online check in, they ask you where you live and they estimate your drive time to the clinic. Then they text you later (in my case about an hour later) letting you know, "they are ready for you to come in." I, mistakenly, thought this system allowed one to not sit for a long time in a waiting room, but instead, be called in when they were ready to see you. I waited 1/2 hour after arriving and then asked when I might be seen. I was told, "most likely over an hour." From the look of what was going on in the waiting room, I suspected it would be longer. Find another urgent care if you are in need. I went to another doctor two days later and did a swab for step and was positive. We've been fans of the local CareNow facility where we live. On a trip to Austin, we figured we'd go to another franchise of theirs. What a mistake! To save time, we did the online check-in and waited for their text (indicating they're ready to see our kid) before showing up. What followed were over 90 minutes of waiting in a windowless, uncomfortable room. Nurse was friendly but, clearly, the doc was out for lunch or otherwise indisposed. After all, the parking lot was empty and no other patients to be seen in the building. Wasting your patients' time like this is entirely unacceptable. Perhaps rebrand from "urgent care" to "we just don't care, and are slow to even do that"? Avoid this place if you can. Even if you drive 30 minutes to another urgent care, you'll still be seen and helped sooner than had you made the mistake of coming here. read more

I waited an hour after my online check in. once the "doctor" came in, he asked me what my symptoms were and I explained I have a horrible cough, coughing up blood, and my nose is non stop running + congestion. I've been sick for 2 weeks and felt like I was kinda getting better then suddenly got 3x worse. He told me sinus infection and I respectfully corrected him and said honestly I don't feel like that's the case at all, he then AGREED and said "oh I don't think it's a sinus infection either, i just don't know what to call it". Then told me he was gonna write me a prescription for cough syrup. So basically I paid $200 for cough syrup? Didn't run a single test on me. I asked where I should go to ACTUALLY find out what's wrong and he said probably the ER. So now what? I gotta pay $1500 to actually be treated. Where the f*ck did you get your degree?
