He was confident and immediately went to work trying to get me feeling better. He not once called me sweetie or honey and/or treat me like I was an idiot. Things moved very quickly and efficiently. I would not hesitate to return to that emergency room. I have been to several over the years and I can honestly say I have never had better care.

The order was in, but the staff simply was not available to provide the drip install. Also, pay close attention to your bill. While my surgeon and the hospital were in-network, they selected to use an out-of-network componenet to my care. I was not told about this and was billed out of network while staying in the hospital for that part. Thank god for the No Surprises Act, making the charges only $700 vs the thousands of additional dollars in the bill. But I was not told about this until more than a year later. So even though my surgery took me well over my more than $5,000 max out of pocket, I now have to pay an additional $700. Add into that... I was sent a letter so much later that I can't even appeal it with my insurance. Extrmely shady practice. Very disappointed and would not recommend this hospital.

I would consider implementation of a number/ticket system and estimated wait times to help with workflow/customer expectations.

Because the Lake Austin location is more convenient for me, I stopped in at 9:45 and signed into the kiosk system, which said "You'll be seen in 50 minutes or less as a walk-in" but I had to cancel my Slaughter appointment to accept that wait time. OK with me. By that math, I'd be seen at Lake Austin faster, and I was already there. I start waiting, and one patient gets called into the private office - they came out after about 20 minutes or so, and left. A second patient went in pretty soon after him - around 10:15 - and didn't come out until 10:45 ... this is a Minute Clinic ... wth ... at that point I'd been waiting for 50 minutes and assumed I'd be next, but the practitioner asked for "Andrea? ... Andrea?" Another potential patient had just signed in at the kiosk as a walk-in. The practitioner asked "Are you Andrea?" And the patient explained that no, she was a walk-up signing in to wait, too. At this point I spoke up and said, "Do you think I could take my turn if this other patient isn't here? I've been waiting almost an hour, and-" And she cut me off with a hand up, "Sir, just because the system SAYS you'll be seen that doesn't mean you'll be seen. I suggest you, and you (to the other walk up) make appointments for (some CVS she said was 45 minutes away)." I explained that I'd be seen right now if I'd just kept my appointment at Slaughter, and it doesn't seem right to not see us if the other scheduled patient hasn't shown up. Loudly, "I have to wait 10 minutes to see if she'll show up." So, I asked, "Could I please just wait 10 minutes then, to see if she doesn't show up?" And the practitioner said, "No. Because if she doesn't show up, I'm going to take a break." And she slammed her office door in our faces. Never using them again. And the real burn is that I opted to try Lake Front over Slaughter bc I've had great experiences with the practitioners at Lake Front. Too bad this practitioner ruined that streak.
