This is the allergic reaction i get and she went home and didn't give me the medicine. When i came back from the therapy I saw a small cup of maybe 10 pills on my lunch desk. I knew they are not mine as I don't take that many. Another women came in the room and think she called her for the pills. My dad was admitted for physical therapy to help him get back on his feet after a traumatic fall. Needless to say, we had him removed immediately upon hearing of the horrific reality of this place. Care One took great care of my aunt. They were kind, gentle and loving. All of her nurses and aides truly looked out for her and supported us. The aides do not get paid enough for all they do! They even allowed her cat to come visit her (with all the appropriate vaccines and papers). Thank you for taking care of her! read more

I am majorly impressed with this location. I work in the healthcare world so I have seen how stressful and short staffed it can be. It is very easy to lose sight of what is important, the patient care. The staff here are amazing. My mother has been here for 2 weeks, and the CNAs and nurses have displayed such care and positivity that I am almost speechless. I have observed the staff conduct themselves with all patients in a professional and caring manner. They do their best even when they become unexpectedly short staffed, and they have never approached my mother, nor the rest of my family, with negativity. Some of the staff members that we were blessed to have interaction with are Joanie the Business Office Manager, Tanoah the case manager, nurses Amy, Anna, Caitlin, and Mamta, and CNAs Monica, Tiffany and Carmen. Joanie deserves her own recognition. The search for a location for my mother was a difficult and emotional one. She offered support and assistance every step of the way. Thank you. read more

I would not tell my worst enemy to go here. This facility is rude to families and disrespectful to their patients. My father was treated like a piece of garbage that they could not wait to throw away. Every single person we dealt with had an attitude and acted as though we were bothering them for what would be considered minimal care. In this COVID world, you would think they would make communication and empathy a priority. They could not have cared less about my family and they should be ashamed of themselves. My mother was just released from Wellington Hall. The staff their was excellent. From the minute my mom arrived she felt welcomed and comfortable. All staff from the nurses to the lead administrators we friendly and willing to help. They even assisted my mom with setting up a PT plan for when she got home I can not say how much we appreciated the compassion and concern that we received from the staff. My father in law spent his final few months dying from brain cancer at Care One at Wellington in Hackensack. I as so glad I chose this facility to care for him. The staff was all so kind and caring. He took a special liking to a nurse named Katie who took excellent care of him. The staff was always warm and welcoming when we would come to visit. Choosing a care facility can be a hard choice not knowing how well your family member will be taken care of but I am so happy I made the right choice! CARE(LESS) 10000000 is the worst. They give my Dr's ordered medicines according to their whim and if they have time after their hours long gossip sessions about patients. Lpns routinely make decisions on whether they will give you the life saving meds. And they argue to the point of assault. I know from experience and have seen others treated as sub dirt. DO NOT GO TO THIS HELLHOLE! They bill Medicare for services that the"Dr. NEVER provided. If the incompetent one even sneezes in your direction, you will get billed for a visit. We used to joke about how fast she can run by you without looking at you. And you'll be billed. They ransack through your personal belongings AND STEAL!! THE PT department is good and the food is okay. Otherwise STAY AWAY. Luckily went b4 Covid 10, otherwise I would have been wheeled out feet first w toe tag. read more

This place scares me. You can hear people calling for help but no one, I mean no one does anything. One person in on the computer, another is on break and people walk past the room totally ignoring the person inside calling for assistance. Animal shelters take better care of the animals than this place takes care of their patients. It's disgraceful and unacceptable. Why be in the health field if you don't care? My family has had a horrible experience with this place. My grandmother is a short term patient and has dementia. I have caught the employees there in several lies, including how my grandmother has been injured. I pressed the call button and a hour and a half later no one had come by, so I called the main number. The man I spoke to said she was fine and he had just checked on her in the day room 15-20 minutes ago. obviously a lie because I was in her room with her for at least an hour and a half at that point. Another time, there was no report of her fall even though she had a sprained ankle and several bruises. They didn't do an x-ray until we brought it up. Another time, she had a black eye and they told us it was from a fall days before even though we were there the day before and have pictures of her without a black eye. They moved her room last night and today when we called the nurse, they said that room doesn't exist. They put us on hold for more than 20 minutes and then picked up and asked why we were on hold. My mom asked if they found her mother and they hung up on her. This place is truly horrible. read more

In my opinion if you use this facility you're taking your life into your own hands. To add insult to injury, 1. They had none of my medications nor did they care I had to have my own brought from home. 2. I woke up to catch a staff member in my closet with my wallet in their hands. When I asked what they were doing they told me quote we need to know how many credit cards you have in your wallet. I made her give me my wallet I counted my credit cards gave her the number, but my stuff back in the wallet back in my back pants pocket and made her put it back in the closet. I am now home with no wallet or credit cards. They have no idea what's going on nor do they care. The management is very rude and brash and quick to blame all their downfalls on something that you did rather them. The only reason I went here was that the Hackensack Hospital booklet rated them as five-star number one on the top left of the booklet. Do yourself a favor and save your own life avoid this place at all costs. I plan on making a police report after Thanksgiving. read more

While in their care, her privacy and human rights had been violated, far past the point of neglect. I am appalled and shocked that a healthcare facility with such levels of malpractice can exist in this country. I've worked at CareOne at Wellington for just over seven months. I have never had worked with a more caring and genuine group of people. When I decided to change careers and wanted to work in long term care I immediately wanted to apply for a position at Wellington. Many years ago my grandmother was a resident and I remembered the exceptional level of care she received. When I began working here I wasn't surprised to see that the level of care has not changed one bit. It is amazing to see how far some of our patients have come from when they first arrive to when they are ready to go home. I am extremely proud to work in a facility that cares so much about our patients and residents. read more

This is the worst place I have ever seen, or had the unfortunate chance to be there as a patient. After a hip replacement, I was advised to go to the facility, big mistake. After eating cereal for the first 3 days, I decided to order a turkey sandwich, the bread was full of mold. I feel sorry for the people that live there. I am young enough to see what I was getting, a lot of them don't. I need to say, the nurses do try, but they are always with their hand out, looking for tips. This place is horrible. I was there because it was recommended to me as good, but I tell you that it is the worst there is in terms of recovery centers, they are negligent with patients. I was there because they operated on my knee, they took it out and I was without a knee for several months, but I was in that place for 2 months and it was very bad when I had an emergency, I rang the bell and they came to attend to me between an hour and a half or 2, imagine I could not walk I called to go to the bathroom and they never came once I had to go to the bathroom without help and I fell, you know I was in the bathroom for 45 minutes on the floor I touched the emergency alarm and nothing that came to help me was terrible, because I was wet and cold on the floor in the middle of winter and they didn't care, after about 2 hours the nurse came and they didn't even check me to make sure if something happened to me we asked for an x-ray and they did it 2 days after I cai, they are so negligent that they told me when you ring the bell and no one comes to attend to you, pee on yourself, what a horror, the assistants who work in this place have no vocation. My opinion is only interested in making money without doing anything; The city should close that place. I advise people who have relatives not to take them to this place because they will suffer. read more

I was transferred from the Hackensack University Medical Center to CareOne at Wellington. As a person with years of higher then normal medical care, I believe I have a unique ability to assess what represents professional medical care. The medical staff have to be professional, caring, kind, empathic, be good listeners, and communicate well to patients and their families. In this area I rate CareOne at Wellington a five. They also have to recognize and respond to both physical and mental problems a patient may have. The food at CareOne at Wellington is nutritious, cold when it is supposed to be cold, and hot when it is supposed to be hot. Personalized service to allow for dietary restrictions is always part of their program. The food is equivalent to what I have eaten in 3-4 star restaurants. Nutritious, varied, and great taste cooked and served by outstanding professionals. Their Physical Therapy Program is well managed and provides flexibility based on a patients needs and what they can do. I have been to many a physical therapy program and the one at CareOne at Wellington is focused on improving and building strength for short and long term improvements. All staff I interacted with or observed interacting with others were professional and caring. Problems and questions do come up every day, and this outstanding staff prioritized them based on patient need and care plan. They remembered who you were, in the hall, in your room, in the dining room, in the elevator. You want not just another body to them you were a person who they respected and worked hard to insure you received the best treatment possible. If your loved one is looking for a world class place to maintain and improve their health I strongly recommend you chose CareOne at Wellington. HORRIBLE!!! RUN DON'T WALK If there is a rating below 0 that's what I would rate this facility and the staff. They don't deliver on their promises for the care and safety of your loved ones. The nurses, nurse managers, administration staff and CNA's are not qualified to do basic tasks. They lie and deny falls saying "it didn't happen". My family member fell in front of the nurse's station where she was moved to be watched. When she fell, she broke her hip and needed hip replacement surgery and no one thought to call 911. Nurse and CNA response time to the call bell is minimum 30 minutes. They are mean to the residents and yell at them. This place should be shut down by the state. They don't deserve to be in business. Don't trust them with your family members, run away from this dump. My personal experience should serve as a warning to anyone considering this facility. read more

My mother came here TWICE after having both knees replaced. I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone in this facility for the exceptional care she received. First and foremost therapy was excellent! She was able to return home alone without a worry because she was completely independent with dressing herself and getting around her house (including many stairs!). Nursing was attentive and I felt very comfortable with her in their care knowing all of her needs were being taken care of. The kitchen staff went out of their way to make sure she received meals that she enjoyed. I highly recommend this facility! read more

Dont send your parents, grandparents or even yourself to this place! My grandmother is staying there after having a cardiac arrest, and she regularly presses her button for a nurse to come help her. NO ONE SHOWS UP. The first time she wanted someone to come turn the lights off in her room so she could go to sleep because she was weak and couldn't get up. Then, she had back pain so bad that she couldn't even move and no one arrived. Today, she told me she is vomiting and sick, and has been pressing her button all day. Aside from her cardiac arrest, she also has a pretty nasty cut on the bottom of her foot that opened up again after the cardiac arrest. Her normal doctor gave us a gauze with some medicine in it to treat the cut, and after giving it to her regular nurse, we never saw it again. I would understand if they can't use outside medicine, but they never gave it back to us, despite us explicitly asking for it back because we paid for it. PLEASE for the health of your loved ones, don't send them here. We are currently working on transferring her. read more

This place is horrible. I have not been there as a patient, however, I am an assistant at a doctor's office and several of my patients have stayed here after surgery. I have received many phone calls from "nurses" that sound like they have no clue how to even take care of a wound. I always get a call because unfortunately the staff do not know how to care for some patients. I hear horror stories from most of my patients that go here. read more

A family friend of mine was recently discharged. I was a little disappointed when I started reading some of the reviews on this place. People are so quick to rate a place negative over one episode or staff member but forget all the good moments and staff. I have never been to a rehab facility and I can honestly say that people there all tried to make her stay a positive experience. we all forget that we are humans and make mistakes, but if people show they care and make an honest attempt to fix a problem then give them credit! No they are not perfect but they respect your concerns and work with you on your goals. I understand there is new management in place and was present for some of the positive changes that were occurring. Keep up the good work! read more

DON'T USE THIS FACILITY!!! I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never seen more unprofessional healthcare staff in my life! The doctor shows up sporadically and doesn't not have the correct patient info when he does show up. The is no specific healthcare plan for rehabilitation. The administer drugs and therapy with no plan in sight. The nursing staff is the family point of contact and they have no clue other than what drugs the patient is receiving and their default is: "I don't know, this is my first day with the patient. Social services schedules meetings that don't occur and there is no courtesy call of cancellation or to reschedule beforehand. If the patient is a fall risk, they are pretty much neglected. No help getting ready in the morning, a 50 minute wait for assistance with a the bedpan. No one takes responsibility for anything when help is requested from anyone for the simplest thing, the response is ALWAYS that it is someone else's responsibility . Honestly, with the exception of the operator and one physical therapist, they all act like they don't care one bit about their jobs or their patients. Sadly, this is clearly a management problem, but what's worse is that it appears all of this is ok with the state who monitors these facilities. This has been an ongoing problem for years with no improvements. Don't use them!! read more

My husband has been very ill with colon cancer. After a 40 day stay in the hospital, he was transferred to Care One in Hackensack. His experience was horrible. He was in Care One for 28 days. When he first arrived, he thought the rehab was really going to help him. He was brought to physical therapy each day and it was going well. But then instead of coming to pick him up early in the day, they started coming at 4, 4:30, when he was tired. So he started refusing to go. He has a colostomy & nephrostomy bags which had to be changed every few hours. He would call & call and he would get no response. Hours would go by and at times the bags would explode, which was horrible. He had a patient sharing his room. On two different occasions, we heard the nurses aides yelling at the family members for taking a towel off their cart. We heard other patients families freaking out because their loved ones needed help to the bathroom and no one came. There was a nurse Mary, who was terrible. She was nasty and very disrespectful. The shift changes in the morning, and she would come into the room yelling. Finally, my husband told her to be quiet in the morning. He filed a complaint against her with the nurse manager for different incidents. We advised the management there two weeks before, that we were taking him home and to prepare the paperwork. He had a doctors appointment, and we told them two days before that he will be going and then coming home. When we arrived for the appointment, they had not changed his bags, and would not come to help him dress. He was so upset. My son raised hell and all at once, there were five people in the room. NEVER, EVER PUT A LOVED ONE HERE. I feel very sorry for all the elderly residents who have no one to watch what's going on in there. read more
