Spent the morning driving to a large urgent care in southern MA only to be told that they were no longer accepting patients for the day and anticipated a three hour wait before that would change. I made an appointment at Carewell Warwick for the early evening, 5:30. I uploaded a lot of the necessary information from home and had very limited admin steps on arrival. I was seen very close to the scheduled time. Although I thought that I knew what my problem was, the practitioner explained that in her opinion, it was something quite different. She made recommendations on treatment options that quickly reduced my symptoms. Now, three days later I am not feeling anywhere near the pain I was having. I would not hesitate to use Carewell again if I have an urgent care need. read more

We went to this location because it had almost 5 star reviews but it was horrible experience. We waited nearly 3 hours just to be admitted in to a bed. Then it took the Doctor another 40 minutes to come into the room. Once my mother complained the Doctor came and in and just did a 2 minute evaluation and sent us off. I went there this week because I was sick and I forgot to get a doctor's note. I called them asking for them to just send me an email with one, and they said "we can't, it's our policy". We went to the Warwick location because my wife was sick. The location closes at 8pm and we got there at 7:15. The receptionist was incredibly rude and told us that they weren't seeing anymore patients, even though there was no one in the waiting room. I very nicely asked if they closed at 8 and she said yes. I asked if we could be seen and she said they were closed. It was a very confusing conversation because they were open but refused to see my wife. She actually followed me into the parking lot asking "what don't you understand?" It was incredibly frustrating, especially when I had my 8 year old son and want being rude at all. Just a suggestion, if you aren't going to see patients when you are open, then just "close" earlier. read more

Very unprofessional, waited outside to be seen, after opening hours passed they came out to say you need to register online! So when you try to register the only times on the site was 2:30 pm and more afternoon times. So when you finally get in they make you register on their kiosk, then they say the doctor is running late and you have at least have a 3 hour wait. No notice on the door for instructions on what to do. Very rude when you ask questions with an eye roll. read more

I went to this urgent care once before and had a great experience so I returned thinking that I would be in good hands but boy was I wrong. I had gone in before due to an ingrown toe nail and they fixed it and told me if it grew back badly to come see them again which is what I did (for the record I am trying to get in to see my primary care doctor but I am very new to Rhode Island and getting new patient appointments is very difficult so for the time being I resorted to using urgent care). I made an appointment online prior to coming in to make sure they knew to expect me. Upon arriving for my appointment they were running 30 minutes behind (which is fine I understand that things happen in the medical field that you can't always plan for). I waited patiently and was called back to a room when I spoke with the nurse (who was lovely and heard me out and said they would definitely be able to help me out today). I then waited another 15 minutes for the doctor to come in only for her to barely address me at all, look at my toe for a total of five minutes, mess with it and pull the skin on the edges back with her fingernail (which made it hurt worse) and then tell me she "doesn't really do feet" so that she would give me a prescription for an antibiotic cream but wouldn't do anything else. Not once during the whole interaction did she look at my face during this brief interaction and she was overall just very disconnected and generally seemed annoyed by the entire appointment. At this point I had been waiting for an hour and was under the impression they would do the same thing they did last time (use local anesthesia and cut out the part of the nail that was digging into my foot). I was frustrated and my foot hurt worse than when I arrived but I didn't feel like arguing. I went to leave and asked the ladies at the front desk if I was going to owe for today even though they ended up not doing what I came for. They rolled their eyes at me and were very rude telling me that if the provider ended up charging me there was nothing they could do. I turned around to walk out and they scoffed at me as I was walking out and when I turned around they both gave me dirty looks. I know it wasn't just me who was frustrated that day as I heard one patient come up from the back and tell them they'd been waiting in a room for over an hour and were leaving and going somewhere else if they couldn't help them. The others in the waiting room were also visibly off put by the front desk staffs rudeness. I understand having worked as a manager and in customer service that busy days can be frustrating but at least put on a fake smile until the person walks out for goodness sake. The nurse who I spoke with this time was wonderful and very reassuring and the doctor I saw the first time I went was wonderful (a very professional and knowledgeable gentleman who made the whole process despite my nerves smooth) which is the only reason why I did two stars instead of one. It is really a shame that the female doctor/nurse practitioner and the front desk staff this time were so awful. read more

I went to Urgent care this past Saturday. I injured my knee and couldn't walk. I saw Jason. He was absolutely amazing. He had them do an xray and found a Crack on my knee. I went here recently. The two women at the front desk were ignoring the customers - one was eating a big ice-cream cone and one was watching Tiktok videos. They told me to register myself on the ipad. I had to stand to do that while in severe pain, so that was frustrating. Then the registration shifted to my phone and it was hard to do on my phone and it asked that I photograph my state ID and insurance card, so I started to do that at the counter (the only flat surface there) and they snipped at me rudely that I could sit down - As if I was bothering their ice-cream and Tiktok time. I asked how I was supposed to do the photos without a flat surface and they snipped rudely that they could scan them. So I sat to finish my own registration (while in severe pain!) and then went up to get the scans of my ID etc, and they ignored me (nobody else was at the counter), because they were both (BOTH) playing on their phones. One of them finally took my ID etc to scan and gave them back and I turned to sit down and she said in a snotty voice "You're Welcome!" - I guess because I hadn't said "Thank You" - which why the Heck would I after being treated like that? Then I waited hours (hours!) to finally see the Dr. And he was rude, condescending and snippy too. He was super young, seems fresh out of med school, and wouldn't listen to what I was saying so he kept giving me advice that actually didn't relate to why I was there. I guess they skipped the bed-side manners in his doctoral program. They were all SO rude and inconsiderate. It was unbelievable. I wouldn't send even my dog here now for service. read more

Showed up at 6 pm to see a sign on the door saying they're closed due to staffing shortage. Waiting line was insane (spent 3 hours in the waiting room), medical care was excellent. the biggest problem for me was that they made me leave credit card on file reassuring that it would be charge only after bill would go into past due state and i will have a chance to pay the bill with other method when I would get it. only problem they never sent me the bill, on their website bill was issued on Oct, 7 and on October, 9th my credit card was charged (no bill, no receipt) it is not good way to do business ! read more

I had to go to this urgent care the other day, When I walked in I noticed everything is done on a tablet and your phone. I was aggravated as I had a sick child and the process takes longer than it would for a PSS to do. At one point I didn't have the information I needed and needed the PSS to do it for me. I acknowledged I was already upset with a sick kid, long day at work, traffic. Both Women were rude and snippy. After I sat down one said to the other " these people think we sit here and do nothing all day." a few seconds later she said "it isn't active, oh well not my problem." Hopefully not talking about my insurance. I work in Healthcare and as a PSS you should have empathy, and sympathy. The doctor, nurse, establishment were all perfect but those women set my tone for my entire experience. read more

Acting like you are twenty, when you are decades older is not recommended. However, should you find yourself in such a situation - and your body definitely let you know - this could be a good spot to visit. After waiting a day to see if I would feel better, I stopped in to be sure I had not done any serious damage to myself. There were only a couple of people in the waiting room when we arrived. The receptionist took my photo ID and medical card, and after asking if I had been there before, handed me 'paperwork' to fill out on a tablet which was very easy to complete. There were a couple of questions that were duplicated, which seemed odd, but all in all, it only takes a few minutes and as soon as I was done, the program sent me an email welcoming me and giving instructions on how to access my on-line record! Wow. The nurse called me back in about 15 minutes, after a couple of patients walked out, and assisted me in getting to the exam room. (Did I mention I'd injured myself?) She took a record of what happened to me, and my vitals. She was very kind and patient and we had a couple of laughs. Who ever thought putting TV's in the exam rooms was a good idea is a genius. Time passes so much more quickly when you have something to hold your attention and the remote is right on the counter so you can search for what interests you. The doctor came in short time (although, watching Family Guy, who knows for sure how much time actually passed?) and did a physical exam and asked more questions about what happened, where it hurts, etc. She recommended an X-Ray to be sure the bone was intact and explained it would not show soft tissue damage so if the problem persisted I may need an MRI. The X-Ray tech showed up with a wheel chair (why is being pushed around in a chair so much fun?) and with the assistance of my fav, helped me up onto the table. She was super gentle while positioning me for the films, being very careful not to hurt me and even tied my shoe! What a sweetie. While wheeling me back to the exam room we passed the doctor and the tech let her know the films were ready for her to view. Very shortly after, the doctor arrived in the exam room to let me know the bone was fine (phew!), the joint looked good and a radiologist would review them the next day. I asked several questions about what to expect and she gave lots of details, best and worse case scenarios, to be sure I had all the information I needed. We discussed pain management and the nurse came in with some crutches for me to use while my body recovered from the abuse to which it was subjected. She went with me to the waiting room to be sure I knew how to use the crutches and came back with my discharge papers. She explained that the radiologist will only call if they see a problem on the x-rays, so no news is good news. All in all it was a good visit, as urgent care visits go. Not exactly a 'good' time to begin with so having staff that are well mannered, considerate and friendly is a bonus on an urgent care day! read more

Although my son was able to be seen on the weekend for what we thought was and is a sprained ankle, they don't use proper radiograph techniques (ie. didn't cover organs for radiograph) and the worst part was when I was planning my trip to orthopedic dr when things were not better I called to arrange pickup of the x Ray. I took time out of my busy working single mom life to pick it up to prepare for that appointment only to find out the disk was blank. Are you kidding me. Resulted in frustration and re x Ray..... never again. read more

I hate to write all of this, as the people at this particular facility are very nice and caring but I had to wait 5 hours for a rapid covid test. I got to the facility at 11:30 a.m., got myself registered using the bar scan outside their front door, then was called in at 1:30 to continue the registration process. This had me thinking, great, I'll be called in soon. That was not the case. After the registration process was finished, I was asked to go back to my car and wait until a room was available. I finally got a call at 4:20 p.m. and wasn't actually seen until 4:30 p.m. I would have never gone to this location if I had known it was going to take all day. Especially if all you're there for is a rapid Covid test. But I have to reiterate the people are wonderful. I called here before I went.The girl that answered said it was quiet but it could change, so I got dressed and went directly there. It was Sunday at 2:20 p.m. When I arrived I told the girl there I tested positive for covid that morning. She said ," they don't treat you here for covid. There are no antivirals here, there's a 2 hour wait and you have to wait in the car." I told here I just called here and they said you were not that busy. She said "there are 9 patients in the rooms and there are appointments every half hour that have priority." She treated me as though she, SHE didn't want me there Like I was there to steal the ANTIVIRALS! There are no antivirals here she said.I did not stay. Her attitude making me feel like I didn't deserve help because I had covid was just too much . And by the way, there weren't that many cars in the parking lot. There is a window to be treated for covid with antivirals. I got sick Wednesday and didn't show positive until Sunday a.m.I believe there is a sign out in front of this business, and believe me it is a business not medical facility, stating they take walk ins. Apparently they don't want them. This is a disgusting way to make people feel because they have covid. They're not lepers, they are sick people who have time constraints to get treated with antivirals, that count on these facilities to help them, and by the way these facilitities also help the doctors offices that don't want covid patients in their offices. My wife went there on January 2nd this year for bad cough etc. They take our insurance but they also require your bank or credit card information as well. For some reason the specific doctor (that she saw) was not showing up on the insurance list (post visit) so our insurance declined it. We are only supposed to pay a co-pay. Two weeks after visit they took $185 out of our bank account (automatically). I called my insurance and they explained the situation and they would fix it and process the claim. I spoke to carewell billing and they Refunded the $185, only to take it out again days later!!!!! Insurance wont reimburse me the $185 they will only pay careWell but so my only recourse is through them. They should not shadily debut accounts like this. Sham type behavior read more

Woke up yesterday with horrible sore throat that I was pretty sure was not from a cold. When it didn't get any better today, made an appt at CareWell. Waited about an hour total to see doc who confirmed Strep. The offices are very clean and for my purposes care was fine. However, the fact that the Dr. kept saying "I'm shocked you came back positive". I've seen a lot of worse throats did not give me a lot of confidence. However, tests don't lie and I got relief, so all good. I would def. go back as for something minor, but anything I thought was serious, I would head to the hospital. read more

I had high hopes for this urgent care center based on reviews. The staff was friendly, caring, and thoughtful, but there was little "urgent" about the care. I'd recommend calling ahead to check on wait time and confirm the services you need can be done in-house. I came on a day when only one provider was working. I waited 2 hours to speak with the attending NP and was discharged 3.5 hours after arrival. I've been discharged faster from the ER. My labs took more than 24 hours to come back; labs can come back faster than that from a Quest/LabCorp with a "stat" order. While they advertise having a lab onsite, only certain tests can be run there--others need to be sent out. The waiting room and patient rooms are comfortable (TV in patient exam room). The first patient bathroom needs some attention--a soap dispenser was barely hanging onto the wall. read more

Clean, organized and professional - what more do you need? Oh and from the website, it appears they take practically every insurance. I've been here twice for relatively minor (but painful!) issues and this past time I made an appointment online. Wait time was less than 5 minutes and the nurse was right in to see me. I found Carewell and was diagnosed and out the door in an hour. It was minor but if I went through the traditional route of getting into my PC who was two hours away or a local ER would have taken the whole day. Think of it as a mini ER only for when you are not feeling yourself. Really professional, clean and highly recommend. I was not feeling well this past Sunday night and found myself having to go to Urgent Care. I called around 4pm and knew they closed at 8pm to make an appointment however later in the day they only take walk ins. This wasn't an issue for me but thought I would share. I arrived to find 3 people seated and set to see the doctor before me. The receptionist was friendly and the amount of paperwork you have to fill out is only one page. They check your insurance BEFORE you go back so you aren't surprised by your copay. I waited approximately 30 minutes in the waiting room and then a nurse practitioner met with me and took down all my information without making me feel rushed. The rooms were clean and had a flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure. The doctor came in about 15 minutes later and was very friendly, attentive, and thorough. They faxed in my prescriptions for me and they were ready at my pharmacy not long after. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you ever have to go to Urgent Care this CareWell Urgent Care is the best! read more

I had to visit here the other day and I was floored by how efficient the whole process was. I burned my hand quite badly, and all the urgent care places were closed because it was 8:00 pm. I really didn't want to go and sit in the ER so a nurse friend of mine told me what to do to keep my hand safe until I could go to urgent care in the morning. I made an appointment at CareWell on their website and immediately got a text confirmation. When I arrived the next morning, they were totally ready for me. They greeted me, gave me an iPad to fill out my info, and took my into the room immediately. I was seen in only a couple of minutes after getting into the room, and the NP was super nice, caring, and helpful. She helped me treat my hand, and went to great lengths to find alternative medications for me since I was allergic to their burn ointment of choice. It was a fast and easy appointment and I was in and out in about 20 minutes. They're opening one in Seekonk, closer to where I live, and I will definitely visit for any urgent care needs in the future. I am so impressed. read more

I sat there for 3 hours with an overflowing waiting room chairs side by side before seeing anyone. They tested me for the COVID (already had 2 negative self tests, strep and flu) no vitals taken minimal history. 35 minutes later (a NP comes in tells me I have the flu, doesn't check vitals, no temperature check, or lungs, no further assessment and botches the timeline of my symptoms, I reiterate with exact hours and still they get it wrong. Tells me I can go back to direct patient care in homecare with the elderly in 2 days. (I happen to be a doctor but didn't tell them) this is grossly negligent. Thet told me to take a med I don't have as well. Healthcare is so understaffed and it's a shame but the care is scary. Luckily I know my sx and called my pcp for follow up (closed on weekends) bc I can't swallow and my ears will "likely get infected" not enough yet and come back if it gets worse ..... fever, Flu A + with over 3 hour wait times. I double masked to protect everyone else. Beware this place is scary right now. read more
