I have had to use this Concentra several times as I travel for work. I am used to their long wait times, but today was different. Despite being there earlier 4 people were called before me. I waited in the waiting room for 30 mins. I got my required items completed and should have been done, however they told me I had to wait for the doctor. I was confused as they did not tell me why. I waited in the exam room for 30 minutes then asked someone outside why I was waiting. I was assured the doctor would be in, however ended up waiting over an hour total. Very poor service and care for patients. I will not be returning. read more

Absolutely the worst...new job sent me for medicals. Called and was told no appointment needed, but when I got there, before they opened 2nd in line, nasty receptionist told the 1st person it would be a 2 hour wait, he left...I got up there she said no availability. I said you just told him 2 hours, he left, I'll take that spot, she said nothing until Monday. I asked why is this called urgent care offering walk in service, she just looked at me. I was the very first person at Concentra to get a quick test for a job. They made me wait 30 minutes before calling me. They called another patient before me even though I was there first. While waiting to be seen I could overhear the staff chit chatting like it was break time even though they just opened up. When I requested a copy of my test to give to my job they refused to give me a copy. I had to remind them that as a patient I have a right to my chart. The Director did ultimately give me a copy but she wrote a nasty comment on my chart. It seems like she was trying to undermine me with my job. The Director and staff here do not care about wasting your time and are extremely rude. read more

Walk in for a DOT physical, I was told "an hour from registration" which was at 11:45 am, it is now 2:00 pm and now I'm told there are 3 people ahead of me. Granted, I didn't have an appoint, but come on, an hour is now going on 2 and a half hours and I'm still sitting in the waiting room? And I'M the one who is made to feel like an inconvenience when I check how much longer? Went in at 5:45pm on a Saturday with my son who ended up having Lyme disease (after going elsewhere and being diagnosed). I was told by the receptionist that they were "no longer accepting patients". The waiting room was empty except one discharging family and one person checking in. When I pointed that out I was told there were people in the back and I could come back tomorrow. I said "no thanks, I'll go elsewhere" and headed to Carewell on 117. SO MUCH BETTER. When I told the paramedic what I was told at this place he said they'd be fired if they said that. So do yourself a favor and skip this place and head up the road to Carewell. Lyme is such a time sensitive thing, I can't believe they turned us away, BEFORE CLOSE. If you have urgent care needs they will only see you between appointments (which we called to see if we could make an appointment and was denied for urgent care). I came in with an urgent medical need but it wasnt life or death so didnt go to the ER. Another guy needed stitches in his hand. It took 3 hours to be seen. My situation greatly worsened and I was doubled over and crying and my spot in line didnt change. Avoid this place at all costs. Update, after a 3 hour wait and still 2-3 patients ahead of me, I ended up leaving and going a few miles away that had a 20 min wait. They also had people sign in where you could see other patients names- a HIPPA violation. read more

Concentra Urgent Care was my "go-to" clinic for several long years, before they changed over to Concentra and back when they were still "Urgi-Care of RI." Between 2008 through very recently this year, if I had an acute ailment, I would usually hit these peeps up since they accepted my insurance and, I believed, their service was exemplary. Unfortunately my recent couple experiences were less than satisfactory bordering on dangerous. Firstly, a word of note: due to many complicated reasons, until this past summer I did not have a primary doctor. While I certainly don't enjoy doctor visits, I will stop by if I'm truly ill or have an injury that I -know- is too much for me to handle on my own. (You will never, ever see me call a doctor for a sniffle or a bruised pinky.) That being said, toward the end of August I developed a rather nasty cough. After making a couple calls to the primary doc, it was clear between my wonky hours at work and their office hours, there'd be no way I could get in. So I stopped by Urgent Care. After roughly a two and a half hour wait, a friendly doctor saw me, albeit briefly, who diagnosed me with a sinus infection and loaded me up with antibiotics. Alrighty. By the beginning of September the cough disappeared but the fever, headaches remained: I also started to get severe pains, muffled hearing and a popping noise in my left ear. Which is where the fun started. Again, due to balancing work, my primary still wasn't able to get me in so again, I went back to Urgent Care on a late, Sunday afternoon. After yet another $50 copay and two hour wait, a nurse practitioner saw me. Briefly saw me. ...I can't even begin to describe how she made me feel in that room. Speaking to me in a patronizing tone, she said (in a nut shell) I had a tiny bit of an ear infection developing and there was -nothing- that could be done. She winded up prescribing me an ear drop, providing nothing further for the infection or at the very least, terrible pain. I used the ear drops as directed and to make an insanely long story short, after 4 days of doing so, the ear pain became so intense and severe, I lost my hearing completely on that side. Upon going elsewhere to be seen, it turned out I was prescribed the -wrong- medication for an entirely different condition and thanks to what I was given, the infection was actually made far worse, damaging my hearing. ....What she diagnosed me as having was way off. It's been over two months now and I'm only -just- getting better. Upon reflection of my past visits, service had always been spotty. Since my first stop in, my husband had clearly voiced his opinion that he didn't care for the way they handled patients there however I still continued to defend them as many of the doctors at least in the past appeared to be caring. He was absolutely right. Yes it's a clinic, but an expensive clinic and as a paying patient, I certainly would expect an appropriate level of service. Yes, their reception is friendly, yes their remodeling interior is comfy and clean but when you get down to it, it's not worth paying the price to play Russian Roulette with your health. At this point, I would much rather go to the Urgent Care in Lincoln. read more

If you're coming here, you - or someone close to you - is in a bad way. I think they do their part in making you a bit better than when you came, if it's possible. I feel like they check off the boxes when it comes to an urgent care facility. It certainly does not offer the emergency medicine care found at a hospital. During my last visit, the doctor tried to remove a bead from little S's left nostril after a crafting project gone *way* wrong. I ended up at Hasbro because the physician could not get it out. Obviously I would have liked my journey to end here, but I was pleased that the doctor was honest with me, let go of his ego, and stopped when he realized he could not remove it with the instruments that they had. We have had visits for stitches, dehydration and pink eye that were all treated appropriately. The waiting room is very clean, as are the examination rooms. Luckily, we don't come here often. But - the couple of times we have come here, we are seen fairly quickly. The staff is professional and courteous. We have health insurance so I cannot comment on the pricing for treatment. I do know that our copay for our visit here is less than it would be at an emergency room... Complimentary tea and coffee...and an area off to the side for the kids to watch age-appropriate programs. This place is our first stop for issues that crop up when our physicians are not available. I would recommend. read more

I had positive interactions with the front desk. They were fine with me. They move quickly, they'll let you know how much time you'll be waiting. It's a factory - they get things done. After moving back to RI I was looking for a general practice doctor to establish with as a new patient, there was nobody that I could find accepting new patients so I ended up here to get some refills on my maintenance scripts. The doctor I saw was awesome, he spent plenty of time with me and listened to everything I had to say. The entire experience was excellent from checking in to seeing the PA to visiting with the doctor. I recently had a really bad ear infection and had to stop back in. It was the same good experience on the second visit. The waiting area is clean and they have a free K-Cup coffee maker in the lobby wikth tea, coffee, and hot chocolate! They bill insurance and it looks like they take them all. Not a bad place for a doctors office! read more

5 stars for the Nurse and Doctor who helped my son, and were very empathetic and kind to him while he received the care he needed; -1 star for the receptionist. I was being checked out when another reviewer - who happens to be my cousin - Matthew C and his obviously sick son were rejected at 5:45pm. The clinic closed at 6pm... and they turn away an ill person? And his son later tested positive for Lyme disease, an extremely serious illness. If you can't accept patients until closing, why are your hours 8am - 6pm? Why not lock the doors at 5:45pm? I feel like whoever owns this place isn't aware of this practice... The tale of two very different experiences. First experience: I bring my son in on a Sunday afternoon after suffering a nasty bike injury which required 14 stitches to his leg. The receptionist was caring and receptive, the nurse was amazing and the doctor was fantastic. If you asked me my review after this experience, I would give them 10 stars...it was a wonderful experience after a very scary event. Second experience: I bring my son in at 9am to have his stitches removed. The receptionist was rude and abrasive. First question: "Do you have an appt.?" No, I was told to return after one week for a check of my son's stitches...her response, "Who was the doctor?" Ummmm, I don't know..."Here, full this out." Mind you her tone of destain isn't present in my written post. My son and I wait for THREE - yes THREE hours while person after person came in for an appt. before being told that there is only one doctor on staff today. WTF!?! You mean you didn't know this when I checked in!!! We finally get to go in back and the nurse was very nice and caring. Then the doctor walked-in...clearly annoyed. Questioned why were there and why we wrapped the wound, why we used bacitracin, why we thought the stitches would be taken out. The answer to each of these questions was: because the doctor told us to. I will spare you any further details but needless to say the stitches didn't come out (not my concern or problem at all). Clearly, we will be following up with his primary! We were treated like an imposition from the moment we walked in...the level of customer service was appalling!!! read more

So I'm very pleased with Concentra. I had a stomach virus this summer and an ear infection today. They have the best hours of any urgent care around--open early and late on the weekends. I would like to speak to the quality of patient care, however. I was home, and the doctor called to follow up on something we had discussed during my visit. He had done more research and had some added insights. I was pretty impressed by that follow up! This summer, I had some tests done for a stomach flu, as mentioned earlier. I wish they had been more prompt to call with results, but they were polite and professional. It's clean and orderly, and I'll be back the next time I'm sick not during normal business hours. read more

I wish I could rate this place a 0, went here today to get a shot for work. The woman at the front desk told me it should be about 15-20 minutes since I'm not seeing a doctor. I've been waiting for 1.5 hrs, I went up and asked and she keeps telling me "You're next, you're next". Still no update yet. Avoid this place at all cause. If your dog is dying...please don't take him here. This place is a sick joke. Both myself and my child saw a "Doctor" here for upper respiratory infections. She prescribed us both the wrong antibiotics. Knowing that I was allergic to penicillin she prescribed a 'cousin' to penicillin and said there was only a 6% chance of an allergic reaction. My pharmacist said that was the stupidest thing he had ever heard. There are SO many other options. My son went on penicillin for 10 days and is now sick again (9 days later) Sicker actually. They refuse to see him again unless I pay again OF COURSE. Please just go to the ER if this is your only other option. There are real doctors there that at least some what know what they are doing. What's wrong with this ridiculous state? Do you guys even have a board of health here? Ugh! read more

If I could, I would leave 0 stars. I have had to come to the Warwick Concentra twice now for preemployment testing. The first time took 4 hours from the time I walked into the door until the time I left. So this morning, I figured I would show up at 7:40, 20 minutes before they opened. I waited in the foyer until the Concentra doors were opened and I was the first patient registered. I waited in the waiting room for 30 mins after they opened in which time they took no patients in. I was then taken in to the back, completed my urine drug screen and respirator test for my job, then was led into a freezing cold exam room where I was told to change into a Johnny and that the doctor would be "right in" for a quick physical. I sat in a frigid cold room basically naked, wearing only a thin Johnny for 70 minutes before a doctor breezed in and out in 2 minutes which I suppose counted as my "physical". During my 2 minute physical, the doctor looked at my hands and asked if they were blue because it was so cold in the room to which I responded "Yes. I've been sitting in here in a Johnny for over an hour". As the first patient of the day in this practice, my basic preemployment testing took 2 1/2 hours. Disgusted with the care here for the second time. Wouldn't recommend as an urgent care or as a preemployment testing facility. read more

This place is the biggest joke of all time. For a walk in clinic they tell you it will be 2 hours (even when there is no one in the waiting room). The staff here are easily the most unfriendly staff I've ever come across. They will place you in the pile according to who you are. They sit i their phone and just watch tv instead of helping move things along. The doctors take their lunch or just sit around talking instead of helping people that need it. You should avoid this place at all costs. I don't understand how this place thinks that someone getting their yearly physical is more important that someone who is actually sick. Total time spent at this POS clinic was over 3 hours. read more

I went to this place for a rash on my back that wasn't going away. Firstly, let me say how rude and miserable the girl behind the desk was, not to mention the medical assistant. Then, come to find out that I had shingles. I had the rash for a week at that point. The doctor said there was nothing I can do about it and no meds that could be given because I didn't catch it within the first 2 days. This information was so WRONG according to my PC. They absolutely can treat it, and they did by prescribing meds. If I hadn't gone to my PC, I'd probably be dealing with full blown shingles and would have been in agony by now. Needless to say, I'll NEVER go here again and will gladly tell everyone I know not to as well. Thanks for nothing, and for taking my $40 co-pay. Worst place ever!!! read more

I probably should have walked out the door besides seeing the doctor and the nurse who never took my blood pressure but on the form there was a reading hmmm wonder where he got that reading from...Too many red flags with this place. Waste of time and money they should be embarrassed! I waited two and a half hours to be seen because of ear pain. When I was seen the doctor told me "they were very busy but would try to help me." She came back told me I had an ear infection and prescribed me meds. After following up with my regular doctor because of the lack of trust I have in this place. I was told there was no way I had an ear infection. I wasted 3 hours for the doctors to dismiss me prescribe me unnecessary meds and waste my time. Go somewhere else!! read more

I had a nose bleed that would not stop. I went to Concentra Urgent Care in the Warwick Mall. There were several people in the waiting room. I was given papers to fill out, and,after a 20 minute wait, I was brought into an exam room, and blood pressure and other tests taken. Very soon a nurse practitioner came in. She was very efficient, very pleasant, and made me feel that she really cared. She stopped the bleeding, and gave me written instructions to handle any recurrence. The next day I received a follow up call to check on me. The entire experience was very satisfactory in every way, and I would use their services again if needed. read more

I wish I could give a negative amount of stars! I brought my elderly mother in with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, slurred/slowed speech and was told there was an hour to hour-and-a-half wait. After a couple of hours I started asking how much longer and was told we would be "next" several times. As there didn't appear to be anyone else there for "urgent care" (just drug screens, OT, blood work, etc.), by the 2 1/2 hour mark I was asking what the hold up was. Urine tests and blood work do not require the doctor, they are normally handled by nurses and techs. I was told the doctors (they claimed there were 2 on duty, I don't know if that is true), were busy "with an emergency". Since I had been there for over 2 1/2 hours by then, I KNEW this was not true. NO emergency came through that door, no one broken, bleeding, or in severe pain. By this time my mother was feeling and looking much worse, and I had lost patience with being told we would be "next". They sent a woman to speak to me who claimed to be the manager, and I asked her to explain to me their definition of "Urgent Care", which is what it says on the building but not at all what we were receiving. Again, my elderly mother was THE ONLY PERSON in the waiting room who was visibly unwell. This place needs new signage because they are NOT an urgent care center. They are NOT a walk-in. They seem like all they want to deal with is workplace drug screens, worker's compensation-related Occupational Therapy, blood work, and vaccinations. When our THREE HOUR wait was over, she was examined by the doctor, who was thorough and helpful enough... but not enough to make up for the fact that the staff obviously doesn't care AT ALL about the patients. Not very pleased with the care my wife received. The main focus seemed to be about how they were going to get paid. My wife had a small laceration on her cheek from a dog bite. The Doctor refused to do anything to stop the bleeding claiming that a plastic surgeon was needed. I asked her to simply stop the bleeding and that I didn't want to wait 8 hours at an emergency room.The doctor on duty then started to talk to us like we were stupid and told us a plastic surgeon was standing by at RI Hospital. I pleaded with the doctor to stop the bleeding now and we would follow up with a plastic surgeon later. The doctor stared at us and again stated that a plastic surgeon was standing by waiting for us. She also offered that mental healthcare was available. We went to the RI Hospital emergency room and explained the situation. They were almost laughing when I asked about the plastic surgeon that was standing by. There is no such thing. After waiting for 7 hours a nurse came in and showed us mercy by stopping the bleeding with 4 stitches. Very unimpressed with Concentra. read more

This place is a disgrace. My husband went here this past Saturday desperate for an answer on why he has been feeling like garbage for the last two weeks. He had been to his regular doctor earlier in the week but was declining quickly on Saturday evening so decided to go in. After over an hour wait, he met with a doctor who, after explaining to her that he was concerned he may have pneumonia and also that he had a sore throat and our son had just been diagnosed with strep, failed to do a throat culture OR a chest x-ray and just sent him home telling him he had a virus. He went back to his regular doctor today, they did the chest x-ray and confirmed pneumonia. At this point he is very, very sick. This doctor should be ashamed of themselves. I want my $25 co-pay back! read more

The people at the front desk were fine, as were the CNAs. However, the NP, Jeanette Thibault, wad not only condescending and dismissive, but she also failed to write down the correct information on the report, failed to analyze my symptoms correctly, and was horrible in pretty much every way imaginable. Let's start at the beginning. I had been feeling ill for about a week, first feeling nauseous and having a fever for a few days, then just being very drained and dizzy. Rashes started appearing all over my torso and arms, which sometimes itched. My initial guesses for what was causing my symptoms were the flu coupled with eczema, or pityriasis rosea, but as time went on and I got more and more fatigued, my spleen started hurting, and the rashes got worse, I thought that I had acquired mono (I've never had mono up to possibly now). So I went in to get tested for mono, but this NP says that I "am not tired enough" for mono. I had just slept for 18 hours straight due to fatigue, missing school and work. This is an insult, and where I realize this woman is just not a good individual, and I now think very little of her (clearly). Here's where it actually gets bad though,not just personally, but medically. I was marked as having a smoking status of a "current everyday smoker". I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, and never will. I was told my condition was an allergy, despite physical evidence to the contrary. While I do have many rashes that appear like hives, it all started with two circles that look like ringworm, which is much more indicative of an infection than an allergy (I have confirmed this with two RNs, one from Children's Hospital Boston, and the other from Brigham & Women's). In addition, I've never been allergic to anything in my life, and have made absolutely no changes to my routine whatsoever in the past few weeks, so frankly I feel she's just trying to get me to leave so she can go home. After a (very nice) CNA took my blood, the NP returned with my results. The results came up negative for mono, which I highly contest at this point given this NP's lack of common sense. However, here's the #1 most disturbing thing. My test results came back with high hemoglobin and high HCT, indicative of potentially dangerous liver problems. In spite of this information, this woman prescribes me ORAL steroids for my rashes, which would further compromise my liver and exacerbate any health problems I already have with my liver. So, not only is this woman condescending and dismissive, it appears she's trying to kill me, as well. This experience was horrible on a personal, professional, and medical level. Obviously I'm disgusted. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful and I will never go back here. She's lucky I haven't pressed any charges yet. read more

I took my daughter to the Concentra Urgent Care near the Warwick Mall in Warwick RI the other night because of cold symptoms because the on call pediatrician didn't call back & I felt she needed to be seen by someone. The doctor could not have been bothered, she could've cared less! She kept telling me "oh probably viral, nothing we can do" I asked if she could test for strep because her throat hurt. The doctor says "well I guess I can" So since my urgent care copays is $50 please dr by all means test away!!! At this point I'm trying to remain calm by her aloof attitude, she comes back & tells me it's vital give her Robitussin DM for the cough. Fast forward 24 hours my daughter is worse, I take her to the pediatrician and she has an ear infection, congested lungs which the dr said by no means happened overnight! I called Concentra when I got home from the pediatrician to let them know they suck and wouldn't trust them to remove a splinter from my finger! I complained about DR LEAH BRIONES the dr who treated my daughter there & imagine to my surprise SHE'S THEIR MEDICAL DIRECTOR!! What a joke! There's a reason why there wasn't a wait there!! THEY SUCK AND THEIR LEADER IS AN IDIOT!!! read more
