Since then, my son has made massive improvements such as being able to dress himself, button his shirts/pants, using zippers, brushing his teeth, tying shoes, every day living tasks. Ms. Pau is amazing and always ensures my son feels comfortable, safe, and heard, but also uplifts and encourages him when he used to give up on tasks. We…read morewere there multiple times a week and were able to receive services through both Kaiser and LBUSD, so we spent a lot of time there -- and I am really, really thankful that we did. The front office staff was always great and made everything easy for us, and we were so lucky to have the opportunity to work with Ms. Anny and Ms. Karen! Most importantly, my kiddo made so many gains during his time at Learning Tree and is heading off to TK with a much stronger foundation because of them. Both Ms. Anny and Ms. Karen were amazing! My little one definitely did not always want to sit and work on speech sounds, but they had multiple tricks to keep him focused and on task, were extremely patient, and were always so positive with him. They were able to get a lot of work out of a very busy/determined/opinionated little kid. One of the things I appreciated most was that they let me actively participate in his sessions. I hadn't been able to do that at a previous speech location, and for my kiddo it made a huge difference. I could help keep him focused on the goal at hand (his articulation), but I was also learning right alongside him and could see exactly what they were doing and how I could continue supporting him at home. I am a teacher, so I also come with lots of questions, ideas, concerns, and thoughts about how to support my son. They answered all of my questions, listened to my ideas, and helped me focus on the best ways I could support him and get him ready for TK. My mom (who took me to speech when I was little) got the chance to participate in one of his sessions. She called me afterward and told me that his SLP should be running worldwide lessons on how to do speech therapy because she was so impressed. That has always stuck with me! My very honest review…read more This isn't my first time with Learning Tree & I really wanted to give this other location a try. My son is almost 3 & non verbal, but uses signs to communicate. He was evaluated by Ms. Michelle. First off... this office wanted to RUSH me in, they refused to give me a time that would of worked with me. I'm not sure what their rush was. They picked the absolute WORST time to come in for an evaluation (9 AM), & what do you expect ? My son did not want to cooperate & did not perform well. All this office cares about is numbers. The first visit we had with Ms Michelle actually wasn't with her at all. Instead, she introduced her grad student. So during the whole hour (actually 40 minutes to be fair), Ms Michelle sat in the corner of the room, typing on her computer, not even interacting with my son. From my point of view it looked like Ms Michelle was busy evaluating her grad student & not my son (it was like this all visits we had where she was present). The grad student did her best to work with my son. Her personality is so low energy, calming, quiet. She had the demeanor of a yoga instructor, just doesn't work well with my high energy toddler who didn't reciprocate. The sessions felt so awkward with Ms Michelle just there in the corner, not interacting & the grad student taking control over the sessions. It felt like the biggest waste of time. I hated how I felt like I had to communicate to the grad student with questions, instead of asking Ms Michelle directly. An example: I showed the grad student a video of my son repeating a word. I said he has only done this once & hasn't done it again. I wanted an answer why he only said the word once & not ever again. Her explanation: "oh they just do that sometimes" My husband took my son during a different session. He agreed the grad student was a terrible fit for my son & that during the whole time Ms Michelle just sat in the corner playing with her hair. The last visit we had Ms Michelle wasn't even present during our session & was with the Grad Student entirely. How unprofessional & irresponsible. Who does that ? Ms. Michelle does. Another visit we had here was with Ms. Flor. I wish my son had her instead because what a night & day difference with her compared Ms Michelle. Ms Flor was so interactive & enthusiastic. The whole time my toddler was excited & loving his time there. Also wanted to add that Ms. Michelle claims my son has delays in gross motor skills. My son started walking at 11 months & climbing up stairs at 14 months. He can jump & do anything physical. So just a warning to anyone with a future appt with her for your child's evaluation: don't trust her. Despite the high reviews, it's so unfortunate I had such a bad experience with learning tree.

Our daughter was diagnosed with autism and a speech delay. She has incredible…read morestrengths-particularly in the visual arts-but struggles with social communication. When she turned 4 years old, our insurance denied her speech therapy services and we struggled to get adequate speech therapy support through her IEP/the school district. A seasoned speech therapist suggested that I reach out to the Tichenor Clinic, an agency in Long Beach. We lives in San Diego county. The director of administration and family services, Mayra Jimenez, and the administrative assistant Patty Estrada were very understanding and responsive to my request for services. Despite the fact that we lived in San Diego county-the staff at Tichenor clinic approved 6 months of free Telehealth speech therapy sessions after hearing all of our struggles to get our child speech therapy, to no avail. Our first speech therapist at Tichenor clinic, Mairead Finn, was absolutely wonderful. She was compassionate, insightful, and provided excellent therapy to our child. Due to some scheduling conflicts and changes-we were then transferred to Lauren Barsotti, our current speech therapist at Tichenor. I cannot thank Lauren Barsotti enough. She genuinely cares about her clients and has taken our daughter/our family under her wing week after week-no matter what chaotic situation or challenge confronted her/us. She is composed, calm, and has an intuitive understanding about how to help co-regulate/support self-regulation, build trust, and foster effective & richer communication & language. She is so gifted at providing speech therapy, so understanding, loving, and committed-that you feel blessed to just be in her presence. I felt like each week's session-even on a zoom meeting with many miles between us-we were engaging with someone who really wanted the absolute best for our child, saw her many strengths, had compassion and insight into her struggles, and approached each session with enthusiasm, passion, and joy. I genuinely feel that my kid experienced some of Lauren's ability to name and feel joy-that communication isn't always so scary, but playful, fun, and something that can grow and develop over time. Lauren breaks things down concretely and provided me with effective parent training on how best to foster communication with my kid; and more importantly, she always underscored the importance of connection and presence in relating and communicating. She reminded me to pause and to enter my kid's world-in all its beauty, detail, complexity and texture. Thank you Lauren for helping my child and our family. Seriously, if you're reading this, please be the best advocate for your child - because no one knows your child better than the parent ! (or in my case, Harbor Regional). My son was only here for a little over 3 months but has made such significant progress !!! I can confidently say he has made more progress here than he did other Speech Therapy services as Supernova is run by people that genuinely care about their clients !! When I made my very first call to Supernova, I called one of the co owners, Kathy who was great. I could already tell a difference with the level of care (just over a phone call!!) than other Speech Therapy services I have dealt with. She was able to schedule my son in (very last minute I might add!) & get him on the calendar for one hour weekly sessions. This later was bumped up to twice a week, because Kathy was an awesome advocate & was able to get my son in 2x a week & sometimes more towards the end (through Supernova we had to go through Harbor Regional where the amount of sessions had to be approved.) I was so impressed by this & I didn't know that this could have been done. During our time here, my son has seen Kathy, Judy, Amanda, Maddy, Neriann & Amanda. I personally requested Kathy for the majority of the scheduled sessions (& made sure Kathy knew herself) as my son made the most progress with her. The way she teaches is a bit on the holistic side, with firm + fun combined. It's not all playtime, but progress through play. During each scheduled session, Kathy always took notes on my son progress. At the end of each session she gives the parent homework which helped me help my son even more. I also loved how Kathy is always just a text away if I ever had any questions. During the evaluation (first session), my son was dis regulated & completely non verbal. The very last session, my son now says no with meaning, & his attention span is so so much better than day 1. Every session was meaningful with Kathy. My son made improvement, & never took a step backward in his goals. He has a long way to go still, but the amount of progress he has made in such a short amount of time is really impressive. If you're new to Speech Therapy, do know that not every SLP has the same style of teaching. With that said, not every child will like every SLP or have a good response. & that's ok !! I was able to communicate this with Kathy that my son was not progressing to one of the therapists teaching styles & she took my feedback well. It's not easy hearing the truth, but I really appreciated how Kathy took my feedback with dignity. I highly recommend speech therapy to anyone looking for a SLP for their son/daughte. I wish I found out about this place sooner but happy I was able to get my son the services he needed in such a short amount of time.

Long overdue review of Chatterbox. It's been about a year since we left Chatterbox, but I'm very…read morethankful for the services that they provided to my son. When my son was 3 years old, I brought him to Chatterbox since he was no longer developing verbally. In fact, he had regressed badly in preschool, and was largely not verbal there during the day. We later had him diagnosed with autism (ASD), and were able to pursue other services, but at the time, all we had was Chatterbox. After the initial intake with Courtney, he was accepted as a patient, and we got on the schedule pretty quickly. I don't believe it is this available or open normally, so I guess we got lucky. We set goals and we were coming to Chatterbox for 30 minute sessions (really 25 minutes) twice a week. We worked on some basic things, but given the later ASD diagnosis, we did what we could here. The end result was that after almost a year, he was verbal again and we met some of our goals. I didn't mind continuing with Chatterbox, but by that point, my son's needs were greater in other areas, so most of his time afterschool was allocated to behavior therapy instead. All in all, we are very thankful for the services that Chatterbox provided. Eternally grateful for the services delivered by Marina, Denny, Amanda, and Jenn. Also thankful to Priscilla for being great to work with from a scheduling and administrative perspective. Anyone who comes here will know right away that the parking lot is comical. The entrance on Cherry actually features bi-directional traffic, even though it's only wide enough for a single vehicle. If I do manage to get in this way, I'll do a quick pass through the lot, and if no spots, I'll make a right in the alleyway and another right on Reagan St., then another right back onto Katella, where there is usually street parking in front of the dentist.

Highly recommend them! He saw Melissa M. once and she was amazing too. When Regional Center stopped paying for his speech therapy due to aging out, my husband and I paid out of pocket. I would pay via Venmo. When it got too expensive, I decided to stop services as he was already going to preschool and getting speech therapy there. I received a phone call from billing assistant Jennifer that I owed for three service dates, which was fine. So I paid via credit card. She claimed I didn't pay for some of the dates and that they never received payment from Venmo, but I was happy to provide proof. She asked me to text it to their phone number which was their main line. Okay, I texted all the screenshots. FOUR months has gone by and I receive a phone call from her that they never received the proof. She applied the credit card payment to a date that I had already paid through Venmo. I'm trying to call and email her to get this resolved- no answer. I called the Los Alamitos office multiple times and even asked to speak to the billing manager. The front desk told me the number that Jennifer wanted me to text the info. to was the landline and they can't get texts.... uhm okay.... so I asked for an alternative number so they can forward the information to the billing manager Sarah. I even screenshot my bank account activity, Venmo activity, and a typed Word document of services dates + payment dates. Finally I received a phone call from Sarah that it was entered incorrectly and the balance is $0. It's crazy how I had to take initiative and multiple attempts to get this resolved. If they didn't forward the info to Sarah, it may still go on and on! Please fire or move Jennifer to a different role as she is obviously incapable of this job.

I went to my Obgyn twice to address my pain and they couldn't figure it out. I was so desperate to relieve my pain, my milk supply dropped drastically and I was about to give up on nursing/pumping. I was referred to Tiffany by a friend and she immediately identified the issue. She gave me a detailed specified plan and my symptoms were gone in 3 days. She is seriously the most wonderful, knowledgeable, helpful, responsive, and positive LC. I am so thankful for her help. She saved me. I cannot recommend her enough. Other LCs out there have outdated knowledge or don't care as much as Tiffany. She is truly the BEST in her field.

As an OT, I sought out Tiffany after learning that she is a lactation consultant and a speech therapist because I wasn't sure if my son was having issues latching and if his mild tongue tie was limiting him from using a bottle when I was preparing to go back to work. She went above and beyond in answering all my questions and concerns, and even took time outside of working hours in sharing her thoughts and suggestions. It was the first time that I felt seen regarding my son's feeling problems and drop in weight. There truly isn't anyone else that can provide a comprehensive service during the first year of a child's feeding/nursing life like Tiffany can. And even though I had to pay out of pocket since my insurance didn't cover her services (which was worth every penny btw), she was able to walk me through the steps to help us transition my son's feeding service to miller's outpatient so I would be in network. I honestly can not rave enough about Tiffany because she truly is great at what she does.
