The nights at Cargo vary widely. The number of times I've been there I have heard all kinds of music from salsa to deep house. It's a pretty big club with plenty of space to sit down on comfy sofas if you feel like taking 5. Prepare for tourists though, since it's one of the biggest clubs in the area there are plenty to be had! Other than that the crowd is fairly mixed and unintimidating and everyone always seems to be there for a good time. There is a lovely big garden to smoke in and a great little photobooth to have your photo taken in when you get to that stage of drunkenness when crowding 15 people in a 3x3 space seems perfectly normal and acceptable.

I had a decent time here with friends, we managed to get in for free! However, it is a overpriced club & it is not worth 20$! But the club had good music, it was very spacious & had decent food! The drinks were average but the overall place was popping. Would I go here again? No, but the place had good vibes & the music was above average.

Cavernous and a smallish good sized venue. I had fun people watching here and my friends and I really enjoyed the show we saw.

The outdoor area is nice so the summertime but the club itself is a bit of a dive!

Good venue for live music. Love the fact that it's under a railway bridge.

However, this place turned out o.k,there was quite a lot of us so I think we tried to take over. The usptairs bar area is pretty big, with seating space and a dancefloor. There was also a raised stage bit which we immediately got on. Then downstairs there was a dingy band area, I seem to remember there was a pretty bad band playing. There were a lot of bankers around aswell, I tried to convert one by telling him he was wasting his life, I don't think I got through though. As a club it was O.K, normal prices, but I wouldn't it wouldnt be my first choice on a night out. As for the Shorditch twats, when you are in that area there is no way to avoid them, so I guess you just have to grin and bear it, ignore them and hang out with your mates.

It's the ideal place for sipping an ice cold beer or a cocktail and relaxing with friends on a summer day! The cocktails are reasonable at £7.50 a pop and they do a happy hour later in the evening. I tried the mother f***er cocktail which was the perfect mix of strong and sweet. It mixes many spirits and is topped with lemonade and is my new Summer drink of choice. Logistically it's annoying, as there is no bar upstairs, so you have to traipse all the way down to the bar, which is around 4 flights of stairs. I can definitely see that being a challenge after a few drinks, so I'd recommend buying a bottle of fizz or getting a couple of drinks to keep you going. The toilets are much the same story - they are at the back of the bar and not very nice at all. They remind me of when you go to a club, towards the end of the night and you are like noooooooo! All this said, I'll be back on a regular occasion as the roof terrace is so lovely! I just wish they had an upstairs bar and toilets and also a damn lift to transport me up to the roof....

At least 93 has kept that grungy, Indie feel and the beer garden is a winner when the weather picks up. Great place to meet after work and they have realised that and started bringing on bands for the early evening punters. Check t'internet for deets before you turn up. It would always be difficult to rate 93 based on a musical experience as it is, after all, a place where bands will always pass through but when I came here recently it was to see a band I know are the bees knees and so we were always going to have a good night regardless. I have been here many times but recent visits indicate that live music crowds (as opposed to dead) are becoming a rare species in the capital and this has a knock on effect on the overall experience as this kind of venues works a lot better when you are wedged in.Too many venues now for sure. Closing time can be erratic here and you can end up on the pavement with nowhere to get a drink if you are not careful so we always aim to watch the gig and move on to a local pub for a closed door sesh' followed by a trip up Brick Lane for a Salt Beef Bagel, drool!!

It might sound odd but I went in because Sultans Of Swing was playing on the jukebox which I took to be a good sign, and it was! Then after a chat with one of the locals I realised that this pub isn't so traditional after all and while it's kept it's old pub face, inside it's stripped back and lost of the character it used to have. Very drunkenly the man told me he had decided to come over to chat to us because we were the only people not sitting on our laptops or wearing berets. He said he had been coming here for years but he's fallen out of love with the place because its clientele are too trendy for their own good. Looking around I could see he was right, this place is a much a part of the Hoxton scene as any of the other bars around. It was with a bit of guilt that I told the man I quite liked it. I know it's not a traditional pub any more but the drinks are reasonable, the staff are nice and it's generally a comfy and laid-back place to visit. Our brief friendship ended after this. I think perhaps he was trying to invite us to another pub, a proper old man pub, but we resisted. The Bricklayer's Arms isn't traditional and the Thai menu goes against the grain a bit but it's still a nice enough place to hang out and have a couple of beers.
