In the midst of our research of local shops we landed in the Floors for Living on 518 near Pearland Parkway on October 6th. Joel, the store manager, spoke with us about some options, gave us a rough estimate based on the information we provided, and then took our information to follow up with us over the next week. When he called to follow up several days later, we informed him that Floors for Living was still one of our top contenders, but that we were waiting for some additional estimates. We went back to the store again that Friday, October 11th (Joel was not there) and spoke with a helpful salesperson to help us narrow down flooring options and ask some additional questions. This gentleman was extremely helpful, and we even heard him working with another couple and clarify to them that in coming out to measure their home, they were in no way wasting anyone's time and that it was a complimentary service and not a commitment to move forward with Floors for Living. We then returned to speak with Joel that Sunday (10/13) after deciding on the exact product we wanted and get pricing based on this. Joel said he could get pricing on the product and offered to set an appointment to come out and measure to ensure his numbers were accurate - we set up for him to come out that Tuesday (10/15) after we got home from work. Joel came to our home and measured. After he was finished, we went over the numbers and I asked him what the next steps were if we decide to move forward. He looked a bit bewildered and held out the form and indicated that I sign the form. I reminded him that we were still waiting on one additional quote from a company my in-laws have used for over 20 years, but that we would have a decision for him in the next day or so. The look that came across Joel's face was that of utter disgust. He then stated that this was "not what he understood" and then pretty much got out of our house as quickly as he could. On that Thursday, he text my husband about updated pricing. My husband and I reviewed the two companies we were deciding between (still including Joel's quote despite his attitude at our home). We decided upon the other company, but that we would likely use Floors for Living to replace our carpeting in our four bedrooms during the first half of next year. My husband responded informing Joel of our decision, to which he received the response (typo's and all) "I do not appreciate you telling me you were good with the price on the phone. You are a liar. If you really want carpet then you measure it and walk in my fromt door with you credit card in hand". Well, needless to say we will not be using Floors for Living ever and have also shared the information with all of our friends and family about the horrid way that Joel treated us. Of course, it is okay to be disappointed when you don't close a sale, but to be hostile to folks who invested just as much time to make the appropriate decision on a reputable company? This absolutely blows my mind. I attempted to reach out to their corporate number and left a message but have yet to receive any response. I guess that speaks to the integrity of the company itself. We will happily take our money elsewhere.

Their installers poured self leveler on the entirety of our wooden subfloors then immediately put the vapor barrier over it and then the flooring. This caused moisture to be trapped in our subflooring and now we have isolated spots where the floors are rotting and we cannot step on them without the floors falling through. i have been trying for 4 months to get the DM to call me back and fix this issue but they cannot seem to get their shit together and communicate at all so now I have to call my insurance company and have them go after Floors For Living. This pisses me off cause we were finally done with our 3 year long full reno of our house and now it feels like we have to start all over again. Will never recommend this shitty company to anyone.

Turns out it was a great suggestion that enabled us to save money on floors and spend that planned money on new appliances in our new, 20-yr old house. We had our vinyl floors installed in 2018. Originally we were going to go with an engineered hardwood or laminate but due to dogs and potential water issues, Mike suggested we use a multilayered vinyl. It was a great suggestion. Although installation took a little longer than expected, we're in love with our floors and the price. We came back three years later in 2021 and had the rest of our carpet replaced with new carpet. The latest installers were VERY quick and did a great job. Again, price was exceptional.

I want to write a fair review, so I'll include all the pros and cons from our experience with floor…read moregallery. When we first came into the store, I loved the floor collections there. They have a lot to offer if you are as picky as me. Mike was great and helpful at assisting us with floor collections and brought 4 different samples to our house the next day for measurements. However, we didn't know that nightmare began after we signed the contract. We decided to go with vinyls for all upstairs floor. Mike told us that his team will start on the next Monday, latest the Tuesday. However, he NEVER called on Monday to update me on his team's schedule. So I had to call him and heard him saying " I was just about to call you". The team didn't show up on Monday, they came Tuesday morning around 8am. Things went well the first day, demo was fast. The second day, the team came around same time, but they slowed down a lot, and left the house an hour earlier compared to Tuesday. Same thing with the third day, they left one hour earlier and say they will come back to finish the rest on Friday. After they left and finished on Friday, floor looked nice at first. But then we started to find many detail problems. Up until this point, we NEVER hear anything from Mike to ask if we were satisfied with the work. Our floor was not level, and we could feel the bumps and floor was moving and making sounds. So we contacted Mike and had him and his worker to come in and talk about the problems. On the day, we had to reschedule, so I called Mike to reschedule. He said he will ask his guy first and call me back shorty. 3 HOURs later, I still DIDN'T hear anything from him, and our new appointment is in 30 mins. So I texted him with attitude of course ( it's been more than one time he supposed to update me, but he didn't!) Then Mike and the worker came to check the floor. And they told me " cuz our floor is CHEAP, so that's why it's not level!" And Mike was blaming on his worker in front of me saying that the worker didn't update him or me and decided on his own of what to do with our floor. We gave them permission to float our floor when necessary at the beginning and they decided not to use it and came back to tell me our floor is cheap! The team came back to fix the floor the following week. They just decided to float EVERYWHERE this time. I don't even know if that's necessary. They used a total of 15 bags of float. It took the team another 4 days to finish the floor and came back extra 2 times to fix the minor details and the side. We had not hear from Mike at all since he came and told me our house floor is cheap. And all he ever contacted us was to have his check! The quality of the floor is great, the work was not to our satisfaction, but the encountering experience with Mike was bad! And supposed to be 3 days of work( according to Mike), it took them 8 days to finish. I'm not going to say everyone have the experience like us, but just make sure if you decide to work with Mike, call him first and ask what is going on first, so you can plan your time as you needed. And make sure check on all the detail works.

My house is very clean so that's not it. - Backsplash - didn't seal grout, didn't finish edges, didn't use waterproof seal at joint. Grout is cracking. The follow through and neatness of the job was the big upset for me. I waited a month before writing my review and I find something each week that was not finished well on top of the many things I pointed out while they were still on site.
