We replaced all of our supporting floor joists and subfloors before floors for living came out and installed our LVP flooring. Their installers poured self leveler on the entirety of our wooden subfloors then immediately put the vapor barrier over it and then the flooring. This caused moisture to be trapped in our subflooring and now we have isolated spots where the floors are rotting and we cannot step on them without the floors falling through. i have been trying for 4 months to get the DM to call me back and fix this issue but they cannot seem to get their shit together and communicate at all so now I have to call my insurance company and have them go after Floors For Living. This pisses me off cause we were finally done with our 3 year long full reno of our house and now it feels like we have to start all over again. Will never recommend this shitty company to anyone. read more

Initially I was relatively pleased with Floors for Living. We had about 75% of our home flooring replaced with wood look tile in 2016. The lead installer was very attentive to detail; when he was present the work was excellent and efficiently done. However, he was not present for the upstairs (about 20% of the project) and we had issues getting the last remaining touches fixed (e.g. transition pieces and top of stairs). I would have given them 4.5/5 stars. Fast forward to the past 12-18 months. We had some areas where the tile did not wear consistently. We have been to the local store at Pearland West multiple times - we spoke to Adam Durow (who left/transferred) and now Bob Cook. EVERYONE agrees this is a manufacturing defect with a certain box and is covered under the manufacturing warranty. We always hear the same message - they will look into it, and get back to us. THEY NEVER GET BACK TO US. We have physically been to the store repeatedly where Bob has said this has not been resolved because 1) he couldn't see any of Adam's notes (back to square 1); 2) he never heard back from who ever above him makes this right (his boss, the manufacturer, etc) and 3) he is simply "too busy." We have extra boxes of the tile - we just need the warranty upheld and the area replaced (about the size of our kitchen table) so it is not an issue with being able to get matching replacement tile. I am beyond fed up with this company. I am giving them now 1 star because what is the point of having a manufacturer's warranty if they will not honor it? It's sad because now I want to redo flooring in the bedrooms but I WILL NOT CHOOSE FLOORS FOR LIVING due to their inability to call a customer back and uphold a manufacturer's warranty! read more

Do not use their installation services!! Horrible experience. Its been 2 months since my LVT flooring was done in a sloppy manner with no caulking done for the gaps between the rounds and baseboards. All nail holes (white rounds) were not filled in and look unprofessional. Filed a complaint with BBB after trying to work with the local Pearland salesperson and Corporate office. Since the payment is done in full before the work is started they don't bother to make customers happy. Avoid them at all cost! read more

We stopped by after visiting a few other stores as well as Home Depot. The level of knowledge and service was so far above any other store. After talking with Bob we found a carpet that met our needs and budget. Very easy experience and the installers were fantastic! read more

Be very careful using their service. Poor phone responses, especially after the full Payment is made. Installed many broken and damaged pieces in my house. Broke foot boards in many places while nailing and sealed it with unprofessional clauking. After installing they left the entire installed floor with all wood and cement dusts. I was very disappointed with their overall response level and work ethics. The first day after removing the carpet, the team left all the nails and dusts everywhere without Cleaning it and one of the nail poles my lil one. read more

Update 1 year later: Terrible customer service and workmanship. In September 10 months after having our new floors installed we started to notice some problems. Several boards near the back door and started to lift and buckle, we found another two areas where sections of the floor seemed to buckle and bow when standing on or nearby. We also discovered that there was no backer rod or sealant on the edges of the floor. when you go to floors for living the sales people quickly talk up how they are better then the competition because the install backer rod and sealant with every new floor. They will even bring out the display to show how it works. After several phone calls in September I was able to get Micheal Streeter to come out and inspect my floors. Micheal took photos and videos and even placed yellow sticky notes on the trouble spots before submitting his report. October 20th the same sub contractor that installed my floors the first time showed up to make the repairs. He had no clue what he was there to fix. I called the main Stafford warehouse number and eventually spoke to Jeff Streeter(Vice President). I explained the situation and that his team should already have photos and a list of trouble areas that need to be fixed. Jeff sent the information to the sub contractor and work began. I can go on and on about every step of what took place but this is already long enough. Heres the point, it took them 3 days to complete all the problems that should have been done properly on the initial installation. After all the work was completed I discovered they took the same damaged boards from the back door and placed them throughout the house, including my kitchen and living room instead of using the new boxes of wood they had in boxes. I have attached pictures, one of which is from where the damaged a board and filled it in with wood putty to try and hide. It was found and they were instructed to fix it. Other photos will show the lack of backer rod and damaged boards they attempted to put back into place. I have tried to reach back out to floors for living multiple times leaving several messages for both Jeff and Micheal. No one has called me back and its been more than a week. In closing they will take your money, not do the job correctly, then come back and half ass it. Take your money elsewhere!!!!! read more

I'm a Disable Veteran, this company has no integrity or morals the way they conduct business. They over quote you on the price, leaving you holding excessive tiles they won't take back. I say this with true honest. They claim to have a life time warrant, which they have no intention of honoring. This company is toxic from the front office to the salesmans. read more

I got a bid from Floors to retile a small bath floor and another bath floor and tub surround. Not a big fan of paying 100% before they start the job but some other stores do it and some don't. Since I had never done business with them and didn't know the quality of their work I gave them the small bath floor first. Young guy, Eduardo, came to do the project. He was very professional and did a great job. Protected my flooring, minimized the dust and cleaned up after he was done. He did an excellent job tiling with consistent grout lines, very level tiles and precisely well cut shoe molding. He caulked the molding, around the tub and the toilet and it was perfect. I then contracted to do the second bath and asked for Eduardo to do it. The store said they would request him. Morning of the install I received a call from a different installer asking what the job was since no one told him. Said he was picking up materials and finally showed up after 10am. Looked at the job and said he is supposed to do it all in one day which they had scheduled two weeks. Looked at the shower plumbing and said I needed to hire a plumber after the salesman told me I didn't if I kept the same faucets, etc. I ended up taking it all apart (and re-installing) myself. Then said he couldn't do the tub surround because the warehouse didn't give him all the material. OK, so do what you can and come back. The room is on the second floor and they had no floor protection for the first floor wood flooring or stair and hall carpet. Went to HD and bought a roll of paper (among other things ie backer board, grout, etc) which was shredded in no time and became a safety issue. Kept all room doors open so dust was everywhere. Returned the next day around 10:30 am with the rest of the material and finished after 6 pm and anxious to get out of there. The tub wall tiling had inconsistent grout spacing and tile levels were also inconsistent. Shoe molding had lots of gaps at corners, grouting was inconsistent, tile edge molding not even with the wall. I asked him about the caulk and he said to hire a painter. I'll have to say it looks better than it did but the installer was only really concerned about getting out of there. There are three criteria when selecting a contractor - Good- Fast- Cheap. I got the fast and cheap since you can only get two out of three anymore. read more

One star because I can't give them any less! I recently removed all the carpet in my home and replaced it with tile. I was quoted $10,500.00 and 5 days for the entire job to be completed and I had to pay the total cost before they would start the work, which I agreed too. The workers would show up every day at 8 AM and leave by 2 PM. On the 5th day they said they had to pick up more tile from the warehouse and never showed up or call. That went on for a week. I called The warehouse supervisor, my salesman and the owner of the company. But no one would give me a direct answer. Eventually when I told him that they can come and remove their tile and I would like my money back I had the warehouse manager and owner show up to my house. It eventually took three weeks to get the job completed and I had to take multiple days off of work with no pay and they never offered to reimburse me for my time. read more

We had old carpet torn out and replaced with "luxury" vinyl plank flooring in Oct/Nov 2020. Our sales associate, Tyler, quit between our purchase and installation--subsequently every person we've talked to (and they seem to have a LOT of turnover, with new manager every few months) has had a difficult time locating our order and helping us. But I get ahead of myself. There were problems right away with the installed planks peeling, peaking, curling, and warping. The first repairs in Dec 2020 are a complete waste of time--the flooring they bring is dirty, has dented edges, and some even looks mildewed. Very annoying to have ugly new floor for holidays. Next month they return with better product and redo almost 500sf of flooring, but by April it is obvious that not only had this not solved the problem-- now it is actually widespread and worse throughout the house. Rather than fixing the problem, the new manager at FFL has to send out an evaluator to see our floor... in two weeks. They do, and then...we never hear back. Calling a few weeks later, a totally new manager has no record of this evaluation and says they'll have to send out an evaluator from the installer in two weeks. We are annoyed but agree. Installer evaluator comes out and immediately spots multiple bad areas throughout the floor, says the installation wasn't done correctly and it'll take 2-3 weeks to get the final recommendation but that a full reinstall is in order. 2-3 weeks go by and...nothing. We call again--and yet again a new manager can't find any record of our floor or complaints (they say a previous disgruntled employee wiped their database or some such). However, after two days they are able to find what they need and inform us that they'll be replacing 1000sf...in 2-3 weeks when that comes in. Now, 1000sf is not a "full reinstall" that the evaluator told us. Also, it's already October 2021. Finally the installation day comes. We go through the days-long process of completely emptying the affected areas of the house for the installers, and a few hours into install they say...the 1000sf of plank we have isn't working. So now, after a year, we have to select an entirely new flooring material and go through the entire installation process again. Who knows how many more evaluators, installers, and weeks of time Floors for Living will require for one flooring job to be competently completed? For now we are living partly on subfloor (the recent installers didn't replace what they tore up), partly on warped plank. I suppose it will be like this through the holidays. In all of this time there has not been so much as a single apology from FFL, much less any concessions for the considerable expense of money, time, and energy their defective products and shoddy installers have cost us. Unless you enjoy hassle and headache and holidays on dirty cement, I firmly advise you DO NOT USE this company. read more

Purchased 3 rooms of carpet from the Pearland store and got the worst installation service ever. I called to complain about my carpet showing from the bedroom into the hallway and they wanted me to believe it was the fault of the laminate installer. These people profess to be experts in their TV commercials but their field of expertise is in playing the blame game instead of rectifying the problem. I had to threaten them with a Formal Dispute with the credit card company to get them to fix the mess they made. AND I still have a long ugly visible seam in my master bedroom carpet where a incompetent installer was careless in seaming two pieces together. I would never recommend this company as their MAIN interest is to get your money...period. read more

We went to Floors for Living to look at possible flooring options. We were greeted upon entry and taken to look at various options. We scheduled a visit for today at 10:00 am. However, no one ever showed or called. My husband returned the samples this afternoon and Les, the salesman says oh I did have an appointment this morning. He never apologized and asked my husband what about 5:00 this evening. My husband told him no thanks, we weren't using their company. Crazy thing is we were going to pay cash for these floors. Extremely poor experience with Floors for Living. We originally started with the Pearland/Friendswood/Webster store but were shifted to the Pasadena store. We were looking for pet-friendly floors due to our aging dogs. This order involved only our master bedroom, roughly 350 sq ft. The store manager, Ryan, highly recommended Mohawk laminate flooring, even though we did NOT originally want this type of flooring. He was insistent that this would be the best type of floors with dogs. After investing $2,300 for our bedroom flooring, we thought we had made a good choice. We were wrong. Our floors were installed one week ago, and they are a complete disaster. The installation team rushed through this job in just three hours (!!!) The floor prep was poor, and the installation was awful. There are lumps and bumps and creaks in the floors. They are not level. There are GAPS in this flooring where it meets the wall. The distribution of the colors was done in a slip-shod manner (i.e., two light boards next to each other and then two dark boards, rather than varying the pattern). And the very WORST part is the noise level. These are the NOISIEST floors I have ever walked on. It is exacerbated by our dogs walking across it. I have filmed our dogs walking from our hardwood floors ... to THIS floor .. and then to our bathroom. This does not occur when the dogs walk on our hardwood floors or our ceramic tile. Clearly, we were sold an inferior product choice ... and the poor installation exacerbated the issue. I immediately contacted the Sales Manager, Ryan, and have been getting the 'run around' for the past week. He now says he will replace these floors for ANOTHER 2 grand (!!) We are now contemplating action to remedy this. Run, run, run away from Floors for Living. NOTE: I will update this review if Floors for Living resolves this issue to our satisfaction. We went into Floors for Living to scope out some wood floors. We were still in the price-comparison phase, but Chris Prescott explained everything to us and the price and benefits were too good to pass up. He sent us home with different color/type samples several times so we could see how they worked in the rooms we were going to redo. We took care of all the paperwork and got on the installation schedule. Although there was a tiny hiccup during the actual installation, Chris was on it and things got done faster than we had expected. We have almost a full box of wood planks extra in case we ever need them. We got a lifetime supply of floor cleaner as well. We're very happy with the floors and the service! read more

We recently had vinyl plank flooring installed throughout the first floor of our house. I'm not happy the service, at all. The caulking was horrible, dirty prints on the baseboards, cracked my shower tile, took almost 2 full weeks past the completion date I was given (all because of their poor planning and measuring), I had to call daily for status updates or I wouldn't get any updates. I expected a rough 3 days, but not a couple weeks. More than once there was a no call no show and worst of all the customer service. Laura only gave me "I don't know" or "I can't do anything about it" answers. When I got in contact with upper management, they attempted to help, but let me down twice on promised completion dates. All while my kitchen was a mess for 2 weeks (mind you, I cook every single night and we work full time with a 7 year old, 2 year old and a dog). It took me a few weeks to place my review, because I hate giving negative reviews!!! I was already so upset and just didn't want to waste energy on it, but after being unhappy with a $10,000 purchase, I felt it needed to be done. I'd rather give positive reviews, because not enough people acknowledge the good. I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

Oh my gosh I couldn't be happier with this company! They were extremely professional, quick, and efficient. The installers were out of this world incredible and professional! I have cats in this house, and I work nights. They were very considerate, and even at one point, when they were moving padding through the house, one of the cats was in the room, and was very frightened, the installer waited for the cat to relax before he even moved. He just cooed at my cat until she relaxed and walked away. If you're a pet person, who knows what this means. They were done in under the amount of time they gave me to complete their project, and my house was cleaner when they left it with them when they came in. Shaun was just awesome and I would recommend Floors for living for anyone who needs carpet in Pearland! read more

Do yourself a favor and do not purchase anything here. Drive a little bit further down to Five Star Flooring. We went in to this location yesterday looking at carpet and the Store Manager barely gave us the time of day. We found carpet we liked and he gave us the price, but then came back and said he "calculated incorrectly" and the price doubled. Literally. He also stated "they were too busy to come out and measure" so we basically had to measure ourselves. I'm sorry, what reputable flooring business doesn't come out and measure? We didn't get a good vibe at all so we left and went down to Five Star Flooring. We found the EXACT SAME CARPET for $2 less per square foot, which was the first price we received at Floors For Living before the price was "calculated incorrectly". In my opinion, they're price gauging after Harvey because insurance checks are coming in. read more

As soon as we walked in the door we felt welcome and he was very knowledgeable of the inventory and products. Stay away from Floors for Living! Their installers are a joke. They take shortcuts in an effort to do the job quickly and the final product looked like crap. The job that should have taken only three days took over six weeks to have the install completed and repaired due to the shoddy job of the original installers. This was actually my second time working with Shawn and this Floors for Living, and it was great! I was so pleased with the first room we did with wood look tile, that I decided to do another. Shawn was very understanding, and accommodating, of my and my wife's very busy schedules, so he was able to find installation dates that worked around that. The installation crew was beyond courteous! I was also very please with how clean they worked and how Victor explained all the steps along the way! They even finished a day early! I have no doubt that if I have another flooring project, I will be visiting Shawn at Floors for Living! read more

The floors look great BUT the post-sale experience was a nightmare! When the installer came, i was shown that each box of flooring (Engineered wood) comes with multiple sizes in it....from the nice long ones, and reasonably long ones to the two short ones...the smallest is no more than 12 inches. Needless to say, that was NOT what was shown to me...or told to me...when i made the expensive purchase!! To use these smaller two pieces would have made the floor look disgustingly chopped up. Needless to say, by the end of the install (6 rooms and two hallways), we were short on slats...four boxes short and the one I wanted to keep for any extra repairs...when the installer went to get them, i was called and told i would have to pay an extra $500!!! It seems to me this was a real scam!! The floors look great, but i would NEVER do business with this company again and neither would i ever recommend them read more

Their work is professional, and their standards are high. The wood look tile I chose has made a big difference in my house, a welcome change from the carpet installed by the builder. My wood furniture features a lot of distressed pieces, and Shawn was able to help me choose a wood look tile with just the right "feel." To do so, he allowed me to bring a lot of samples home with me to get a sense of what might work best.
