We are almost a year into trying to have them complete the original job and are met with excuse after excuse for rescheduling to fit into a busy schedule, promise to show up and never appearing, not returning phone calls, etc. it has been a nightmare. We are so very disappointed. read more

We recently had most of our floors re-done by Five Star Floors, and have mixed reactions. Our floors are completed and look very good. There were some issues with the delivery of the wrong tile which delayed the start of work, but that was partly our fault for not reading the order form as carefully as we should have. On the other hand, we had many concerns about the installation process, specifically with the porcelain tile work. The crew arrived late in the mornings, meaning that they worked into the early evening. We appreciated them working a full day but it was more disruptive to our life than we anticipated. But many of our concerns related to the workers' lack of concern with our property, and not consulting us on their work when we were present for the entire process. Specifically, the workers dropped a large tool box onto a front garden, crushing a number of plants, along with putting other items onto ground cover, having a similar effect. They decided that they needed another mode of entry into our bedroom, and opened a window, took out a screen and went in through the garden that way, all without asking us if that was okay. In the process, they crushed a statue of a rabbit that had been given us by friends as a memento of their deceased mother. (They never mentioned that they had broken it.) They started moving furniture into our bedroom before asking whether or not the floors looked all right. They didn't; they needed to come back the next day to re-grout many areas that they had missed. Also, they started laying wooden transitions between the old and new tiles, and the workmanship was very poor. Arturo was the supervisor for the first two rooms that were done, and those floors looked good with no problems. However, he was not there for the initial work on the other two rooms and the quality of the work was much lower. He came back and supervised the re-doing of the floors, and worked with us extensively to get transitions with which we were happy. When he was not there, it was difficult to communicate with the workers due to the language gap. While are happy with the way the floors turned out, the process could have been handled much better, and management could have contacted us about these issues (which they haven't), thus our review. read more

Buyer Beware . . . once you place your order and schedule the installation the owner (Mike) is pretty much done caring about the transaction. The installers he sends out to install your floors do not care about your home or belongings and are very careless. They are very dirty and when you bring it to the owners attention you just don't get a response. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy! read more

In March, we had the floors in our entire home redone with tile and carpet. We were using oversized tile and we want good quality installation to avoid problems later on. It was a big expense and Mike worked with us some on the price. Because we were having the entire house redone, we moved out for a week. The installation took a few days longer than we were told it would be. The tile and carpet look great and so far we are happy with the quality of work done. The installers showed up around 1030 or 11 AM every morning and stayed until 7 PM or so. They were pretty clean while they were here. The installation of the tile took longer than we anticipated I think because for most of the days that they were here, there were only 2 guys working. It was a little frustrating being uprooted out of our home for longer than we anticipated; I think if the crew would have had another person working, installation would have gone as scheduled. Overall, would recommend them to a friend. read more

I have had wood floors installed in two homes on 2 different occasions and 5 Star did a fantastic job! I found an engineered hardwood I really liked and got quotes from the Flooring Source and Jacks Carpet and Samantha at the League City 5 Star said she could beat the quotes I received and she did by 5k! We had about 1100 sqft installed and had tile removed. I'm so impressed with the crew I had that was lead by Zeyd. They were on time each day and communicated with me very well. Not only did they do an incredible job and were so fast and efficient, they really cared about their craftsmanship. They made sure that my home was protected where they worked and cleaned up as they went. I will use them in the future for other remodeling needs and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. read more

We have used this company once , they put in hard wood floors that were beautiful but not scratch resistant like i asked for. I called them back to redo my bathroom and the guy over priced it because i guess it was not a big enough job that would be worth their time! Really!? 13,000 for one shower? Give me a freaking break! The process of purchasing flooring started out great...until they discovered I already had a contractor and only need to purchase materials. What was originally referred to as a "local warehouse" where I would pick up materials ultimately became an 72 mile, 2 hour round trip! Replaced my existing tile first floor of my house. I am happy with the results and would recommend. We had quite a bit of tile to replace so the job took a couple of days. 5 guys came in and worked their magic. While one was cutting, the other was measuring while another was installing. It was a perfect little work flow. I had them lay my tile diagnally and I never appreciated how hard this was to set until I saw how they did it. Pretty interesting. The end result was good. I did have to call them back for one tiny issue. About 2 inches of tile was cut incorrectly at the entrance of my bedroom. No problem , they came back out within a week, cut out old peice and replaced. Looks perfect now. I worked with Samantha at the store and she was very nice. read more

Samantha and Five Star Floors were by FAR the most positive part of our entire 6 1/2 month home building process. We knew we did not want to pay the ridiculously inflated prices for flooring charged by the builder, so we chose Five Star Floors to replace almost all of the flooring in a 4100 square foot house. They had a phenomenal product selection, their pricing beat out everyone else I looked at, and Samantha--well, I can't say enough about how truly wonderful, helpful, understanding and patient she was. We dealt with one of the worst builders in Houston-she listened to all of our problems and complaints about them every time we would go in to her store-which was a LOT, because unfortunately, I am a PERFECTIONIST, so I kept going back and forth on what flooring to get and changed my mind multiple times. Samantha took it all in stride, never once got upset with me, even when we told her towards the end that we were considering backing out of the house altogether because we were so upset. We finally closed on our house on Feb. 1, and Five Star Floors started demo of our whole downstairs and part of our upstairs on Feb. 2. They were SO conscientious-they showed up when they said they would, they covered everything up, and they worked ALL day every day they were here. They had to demo a TON of tile, including a very large kitchen, and did not cause ANY damage (except for very minor nicks that were explained would be part of such an involved process and to be expected). They cleaned up far better than any construction crew I have ever seen, AND the men doing the work were extremely polite and professional. Samantha even came by to make sure that everything was going as planned. On top of all of that, they finished 3 WHOLE DAYS EARLY!!! Who does that???? Samantha came and did a final walk-through and we identified a few minor things that needed to be addressed or touched up, and they were all done within a few days. We could not be any happier with the way it all turned out-we LOVE our flooring, and we can not thank Samantha and Five Star Floors enough for sticking with us through it all. I tell everyone looking for flooring or shower/backsplash/tile work about our experience with Five Star Floors. Definitely go meet with Samantha or Holla, (who was also phenomenal, and helped us on many occasions when Samantha was with another client or off) and give them the opportunity to provide you with the same kind of service they provided to us. We just had 5 Star remove carpet and put laminate down in our home over the weekend. We are so pleased! It looks fabulous. The employees who put in the floors were very professional and tidy. The price was the best out of the 4+ places we got quotes from. Not to mention that 5 Star got it all done in one day (ten hours). Another store said it would take three days! I had Five Star Flooring in league city to remodel my floors and Carpet. What a disaster has this been...!!!! I put down half of the cost for them to start the work. When I came home the next morning my whole down stair was flooded. Water was ankle deep throughout my whole downstairs. The owner promises me everything will be smooth and he will do what he can to take care of me. Well the insurance comes and looks at my house and says we can only offer you a check one time and can't ask for more. The amount they offered couldn't even cover the damaged items... no word back and I have to file on my own homeowners and he said sorry the down payment you made is ours and we can't refund even though they completely destroyed my home. And a deductible through my insurance. Never followed up to make sure everything was ok... just continued to do business. Treated my like they were a car dealership.... I would give minus five stars if i could. Still in hotel out of pocket working with my insurance on there mistake. Currently in a hotel with my son, pregnant wife and two dogs.... This review is for the new location in League City off 518 close to Bay Area Blvd..After getting a couple of estimates from other places we decided to try 5 Star Floors close to our home.We were greeted promptly and we explained that we wanted our covered patio tiled.They explained the differences in outdoor tile,outdoor thin set and outdoor grout.We had specific needs such as 16" tile and a darker outdoor grout color that had a built in sealant.The people that we dealt with were very knowledgeable and very helpful.The owner Mike came to our home and explained the process and how long it would take.We put half down and he said he would call when the material arrived.We had bad weather for almost three weeks and had to cancel the job on four different occasions.Mike must have called me at least 5 or 6 times for weather updates and scheduling.Mind you this is the owner calling me for an $1,800.00 job.The two days finally arrived and the two installers were the nicest,most professional and I must say the best tilers I have ever seen.I only wish they had did our home on the inside. When the job was complete Mike called to make sure that everything was up to my (very high) standards.I went to the store later that evening to pay off the balance and he happened to be there.I ask him how he could spend so much time on such a small job and he said that all jobs were very important to him.I know that to be a fact by the way I was treated.I HIGHLY recommend 5 Star Floors for your home interior or exterior needs !!! read more

5 Star did a great job in my home and had the best price we found. We had a little under 1000 sq ft of carpet and marble torn up and replaced with a beautiful hickory wood. We also had our fireplace tile replaced with stone. All the sales people we dealt with were great. They allowed us to bring many samples home until we found exactly what we wanted. The job was done quickly and very professionally. The crew was friendly and accommodating. They were all signing and laughing during the job indicating to us they were very happy to be here and their happiness showed in their fabulous install. I never felt like they were rushing to get the job done as quickly as possible, I felt they took pride in their work and wanted us to be happy when they were done. The guy that did the stone on our fireplace is simply an artist. After the floor was down we found a piece of wood with a soft spot and they did not hesitate to send the crew back out to replace it. The crew expertly extracted the one bad plank and replaced it. We were so happy with the end results we referred 5 Star to my parents who also got wood floors put into their house.
