I'm starting to feel each time I walk around Flatbush I'm unconsciously looking to immerse myself in my Caribbean roots. Today was no different. I walked into Caribbean Vibes restaurant and felt at home even though I'm not Jamaican. I wanted a soup and instead of their cowheel soup of the day (Tuesday), I went ahead and asked for their pigtail soup. The cashier laughed and explained it was stew peas usually served with a carb. I negotiated and got MY soup. WIN. Homestyle seasoning was accomplished flawlessly. Even thought I cannot stand spicy food I was able to tolerate their hint of hot spice. THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. And this is an extremely powerful compliment from someone who doesn't even like black pepper. Food shouldn't be so filled with pepper burning my tongue and blistering my mouth to be considered flavourful. Let the other yummy ingredients shine man! (Yeah, stop with the no way she's a Trinbagonian jokes. I've heard them all). I grew up in a house with a mummy making REAL PEPPER SAUCE, NOT hot sauce. So real that at times tears would literally fall from my eyes when she made pepper sauce using the mother in law/ scorpion pepper. So stop the jokes, stop eet! My small "soup" packed  like a large was soooooo guuud! Everything including peas, steamed dumplings and meat (chicken foot (what a surprise) and pigtail) was so soft that when I bit into my meat I went straight through and the bone crumbled. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the customer service here was among the worst I've experienced. The food was actually decent, which makes this even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the service was so rude and unprofessional that I have no intention of returning. From the cashier to the employees serving the food, the staff consistently came across as irritated and dismissive toward paying customers. It genuinely felt like our presence was an inconvenience. Orders were forgotten, and instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake courteously, staff became visibly annoyed when customers politely reminded them. One interaction in particular stood out. A customer calmly and clearly explained his order, yet an employee repeatedly raised his voice and accused the customer of confusing him. The customer remained respectful throughout, but the employee continued to respond aggressively. It was uncomfortable to watch. What surprised me most was that everyone waiting in line was talking about how poor the customer service was. When multiple customers are commenting on the staff's attitude while waiting for food, that's a sign there's a serious problem. The food isn't what will keep me away; it's the complete lack of professionalism and respect shown to customers. I sincerely hope management addresses the culture and customer service, because the restaurant has potential, but the experience made me decide I won't be coming back. read more

My cousin visits this restaurant at least once a week. I've never been, but she knows I LOVE SEAFOOD. They serve seafood every Friday, with lots of options to choose from. Seafood rice , curry shrimp , salmon , king fish, snapper fish etc. I ordered the seafood rice, which is $22 and a Brown stew snapper $25. Everything is delicious and fresh. Once you arrive you place your order first, pay and then your food is dished out. The customer service for me was wonderful 10/10. The restaurant is a good size, but no seating inside . You order and go. I'm so glad I finally got to visit , and I will be back soon. read more

I have a love hate thing going on with this restaurant. The food is good and the portion sizes are great. Oxtail: is always good and full of flavor, it worth the price. Stew Peas: it was my favorite, but once they started putting chicken foot in it, I had to walk away. It's so flavorful and delicious, but I spend more time picking out the chicken foot than enjoying my meal. Curry Chicken: delicious and full of flavor. Fried Chicken: not a fan. It had great flavor, but it was just dry. They have a good variety of salads to go with your meal, they're all good especially the macaroni salad ($1 extra charge), but I miss the days when they served it in a separate piece of foil. read more

This spot is open late so we decided to give them a try. There were a ton of locals inside ordering so that looked promising. We ordered jerk chicken, fried chicken, stew chicken, mac salad, rice and beans, plantains and pasta too. Everything was a little under $40. We also ordered fruit punch and pineapple ginger juice which were both very good, the juices were my favorite things here. I loved the mild spice of the jerk chicken and it was very tender. The mac salad was average but added a nice tang to the meal. Everything was very tender but on the mild tasting side. There were no overpowering flavors. I also wished the plantains were softer and sweeter. They were dry and bland. We were waiting for our food but it turns out they never made it, so we had to check with them and had to wait much longer. read more

The rice from both items were sweet , not as in coconut milk flavor, just sweet as in sugar! Pretty cool west-Indian/Jamaican spot in the multi-cultural section of Flatbush ,Brooklyn. the mac and cheese is delicious . This is my #1 Spot for Curry Goat and Oxtail in Brooklyn, but I'm vexed today. Are you guys taking shortcuts by buying and serving cheaper short grain white rice?. It wasn't a good texture . The goat meat wasn't cleaned properly. Lots of extra cartilage and bones. The flavor is there, thankfully. Hold onto your receipt and wait for your number to be called. If it's a while, you can ask if your order is almost ready. My colleague went for large ox-tail, yellow rice and plantation. A lot people came for lunch and long waiting for your turn to get your meal. Only four tables available and not easy to get table. They did not disappoint! I usually cook my own oxtail but I had a taste for it today so I was researching spots for good oxtails. I came across this restaurant and quickly checked the reviews. The reviews were good and ok but the pictures made me Uber eat from here. They always seem to give a nice size portion unlike other places. I ordered the oxtail, white rice, an macaroni salad. I came across this place on a very late night. There the only restaurant that stays open after 10pm. And I haven't stopped going since then. I've learned to eat several different foods from a different cultural. No regrets. Now I'm in there for breakfast too. The Callaloo is delicious with onions and peppers. Hands down this is one of the best Jamaican food spots in Brooklyn!!!. Over the years many Caribbean restaurants have cut back on their seasoning and food prep work. However, Caribbean Vibes remain with true island seasoning in their food and the portions are very good. Every meal comes with your choice of salad (toss salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, etc) and either white rice or rice and peas. I strongly recommend getting the macaroni salad with ANY meal on the menu. A dead giveaway that this restaurant has some of the best food in town is the long line and wait that occurs during the lunch and dinner hours. The cashier tonight was different from the usual stink faced girl we encounter, this one was actually nice and attentive. HOWEVER, the male staff who served our food, a tall dark young man wearing a Du-rag with a 3 letter abbreviation tattoo on his arm couldn't focus to do his job. There was a girl there he was too busy flirting with to even bother to attend to the other customers and pay attention to the food he was serving.
