The right place at the right time sometimes overrides all other choices. Caribsea just happened to fit that situation, and I was not disappointed! Reservations recommended but not required... though, we visited in the off season for the coast and even early dinner was busier than expected. The location and entrance is a little deceiving until you realize it is not only inside the hotel, but also up on the third floor. That lends itself to a nice view of the sound side, and an intimate setting. I was there with a friend and we were looking for something light with preparing for a long day of bike racing the next morning. I chose the shrimp-n-grits, and was absolutely impressed with the depth of flavors the kitchen was able to achieve in the dish. The grits were creamy, with just the right texture, and savory, while complementing the slight saltiness of the bacon and butter, with the sweetness of the shrimp. All in all, an extremely pleasant culinary experience!

Amazing! Filet mignon just melts in ya mouth. Service was 100/10. Very nice dinning area!

Crab cake entree- I was impressed with their crab cakes *Special of the night*- Some kind of Grouper madness but so yummy!

Caribsea has never failed us on a "date night". Food is always spectacular, friendly service, and the torpedo lounge up on a small roof top is nice. We typically like to eat our dinner on the roof top every time the weather is just right.

We visited this restaurant while on vacation in Emerald Isle. Little did we know when visiting everything in the area food wise is pretty much closed between Mon-Wed which left us with very limited options. We looked up reviews for this place on yelp and saw mixed reviews but we had hope. We gave Caribsea a chance and we are SO glad we did. We are foodies (from Buffalo Ny) so we love our food and can say our dinner here was AMAZING! It was so fresh. My husband got the sushi to start which was great. The simple salad was incredible. Simple but so good. For dinner we tried the shrimp and grits and it was so flavorful. The shrimp scampi was also great. Lots of shrimp came with it. Highly recommend coming here. It has lots of mixed reviews but it was the best meal we had in Emerald Isle all week! Great sunset views. Jessica the server was great.

We sat on the rooftop deck as you didn't need reservations for that (which is awesome) there was live music and full menu service. We shared an app that was honestly the best part. Our meals were good but nothing special, per se and the dessert was also pretty good!

My girls and I felt pampered and relaxed in our separate and spacious area :) My wedding ceremony was supposed to be outside by the pond in the beautiful green pasture, bright white fences and the covered bridge in the background- I was so excited about it! Due to weather we had to move the ceremony inside the barn. The main 'barn' space was easy to transform from a structured ceremony space to a relaxed and open reception party. Michelle Cornell was an amazing wedding coordinator- organized and kept everything on schedule and I didn't have to worry about anything on my special day! Hal was an entertaining and engaging MC- we got so many comments from our guests about how beautiful and fun our event was!

Having read the poor reviews from years past I felt I had to report on what playing this course is like from the 2025 perspective, here's what I observed today: A staff that goes the extra mile to ensure your Star Hill experience met standard, your standards. Professional, friendly, well managed pro shop. The course was in great shape, none of the issues addressed in previous posts, well maintained fairways and greens. The tee boxes are scaled to meet the needs of all, from the scratch player to the hacker. But there is something else that was taking place at this golf club, something that I have never before witnessed at any course, all over the world, at any time: Community! As we made the turn, there was a group of about 20 men, obviously a mens league, about to tee off on the first tee box. These men genuinely enjoyed each others company and were looking forward to a great time. Left an impression, but here was the clincher: As we were heading down the 18th fairway towards the clubhouse, we could see the driving range; it was packed with high school age kid. As we finished our ro and proceeded to the parking lot, it was full of players from all age groups, young and old, male and female, and they were having so much fun. We saw young kids pushing their carts with moms and dads. The high schoolers were heading to their designated tee boxes for some sort of competition. Seniors were organizing for something on the course. Congratulations Star Hill! There are golf clubs out there that boast of many things, but you, you have what every course dreams of; you have community. That can only be attributed to one thing: a well managed organization. I'm sure I only scratched the surface.
