Shrimp and grits were amazing and the staff was fantastic. Well worth the wait!! We will definitely be back to try the pork chop as that looked great as well.

"Jethro" was our server on a rainy and dark Friday at the beach in February. It was our first time here and they sat us at the window overlooking the sound side of the restaurant. We enjoyed a lobster and crab dip and a cocktail. With dinner, we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with our meal. Everything was delicious, came out timely from the kitchen, and plenty of a portion to take home for leftovers. What really impressed us was the customer service exerted from the moment we walked in, to walking through the restaurant, and thanking us for visiting as we left. I can imagine during beach months, this place would be packed and bustling. Well, given the rain on a Friday in February, they were almost packed at 6:00 pm. A lot of comfort food choices for you to choose from. Enjoy!

Servers are so kind and food was INSANELY delicious! Long wait, 50-60 minutes for a table of 2 but it was a Friday night and staff and managers were all kind and very friendly. Pork chops are a MUST get and jerk chicken was also the best I've had.

I really wanted to love this restaurant, but adding nonsense fees ruined the experience. I reviewed the menu before our visit and the fee for sharing a meal was not disclosed. My boyfriend and I always order a bottle of wine, at least two appetizers and share a meal. We do this so that can try several items on the menu during one visit. I am almost 60 years old and my boyfriend's almost 70, so eating appetizers and then a full meal each isn't possible. We had already ordered a bottle of wine and two appetizers before we found out that they add on a $4.00 fee if you want to share a meal. I understand it's a small fee, but I refuse to pay fee's. It's just the principal. We ended up ordering another appetizer instead that turned out to be very disappointing. It turns out we both lose. The additional appetizer that we purchased was only $14.95, however, the entrée that we were going to share what's $34.95.

This is the absolute go to for delicious dining when all the others have shut down for the early evening. The staff is phenomenal and accommodating. I loved our wonderful dining attendant. She is very personable and sweet. Her name is SweetPea. No pun intended LOL. I will extremely recommend this dining experience while visiting Atlantic Beach NC. I invite you to enjoy beautiful views, awesome hospitality, and most flavorful cuisine.

Come here. A bit on the pricey side, BUT all worth it! Our waitress Elizebeth ( AKA butterbean ) Perfection. All you would want and ever need in one. The place is quirky and and fun...I will say no more, see for yourself

We were EXTREMELY impressed with Amos Mosquito's. Our Uber driver recommended it and it was even better than we thought! The place was packed. Full parking lot and people waiting over an hour for a table. But the service was super welcoming, kind, and quick anyway. The restaurant had a cute charm about it, and the views of the water and marsh are amazing. What makes it truly stand out is they make EVERYTHING from scratch. Sides, sauces, desserts, all of it. It just tastes so authentic and full of love. We went with four people and shared bites. Every. Single. Thing! Was awesome. No misses at all. Those pork chops were the best I've had. So juicy and flavorful, super moist and tender with nice crispy breading. The grits were cheesy, creamy and full of flavor. And the cornbread light sweet, buttery and perfect. The food doesn't look all fancy or Instagram ready like those expensive places with weird ingredients. But man, the taste wins every time. It just feels comforting in a way high end spots don't. I don't get the "meh" reviews out there. This place is seriously one of the top five restaurants I've ever been to. If you're close by, you have to go. Amos Mosquito's doesn't just fill you up. It makes you love food all over again.

Are you open on Easter this year?

Kathee, we are open Tuesday thru Saturday the week of Easter. We are closed on Easter Sunday, April 5th but are planning to be open Easter Monday, April 6th. Thank you for reaching out and we hope to see you one night over the Easter holiday.l

Are you open for Thanksgiving dinner? If so, price per person, please.

Kay H, thank you for the inquiry. We are not open on Thanksgiving Day. We are open on the Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights that week but not Thursday. Hope you will dine with us sometime that week.

    Are reservations suggested?

I don't believe they take reservations! You just need to get there about 1/2 hour before they open if you wanna sit out on the Sun porch which is the best seating I think!

    Do you serve raw oysters?

Hayley, we do use fresh oysters for our fried and broiled seafood platters but we do not serve raw oysters on the half shell.… Read more

What IPAs do y'all have on tap?

Caroline, we are presently serving the R & D Brewing Backspin Hazy IPA on tap. We also serve Hoppyum by the bottle. We hope to see you soon at Amos Mosquito's Restaurant.

How do they notify you when your wait is over? Do you have to be present or do they have a text system?

Katie Z, we hand out pagers so that we can notify people when their table is ready. We can also take a phone number and call you if we are running ahead of schedule, you do not have to wait the whole time at the restaurant. Hope you can make it in… Read more

Do we need reservations for a Wednesday night?

They don’t take reservations, I would get there soon after they open if you want a seat. Most of time 1 1/2 wait but worth it.

So glad that we did! It was chilly that night so we sat inside in the dining area and it is just so cute! Last year we sat at the bar and had fun there too! Our server was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. We split the empanadas appetizer to start and they were delish! I had a margarita and it was good too! For dinner, we both ordered the fish tacos. My boyfriend made a few adjustments to his order but they still came out just as he had asked! Both of our taco dinners were great. We also split the chocolate cake dessert and we really liked it! Definitely come by here!

Coming from California I had a bit of a pretentious snob attitude toward local food here on small island, but I'm glad I was met with dishes humbling myself and showing me what this island has to offer. Everything was delicious and deserves praise. I was with my family of seven and they easily were able to accommodate us with all the dishes coming out at the same time and getting checked on frequently. Cocktails were well balanced and the seafood you could tell was caught the same day. Inside the decor feels beach themed but not overdone and the entire point. Instead you're met with comfort and cozy feels. Can't wait to return in the future to enjoy the different selections.

The food keeps getting better. I was there for a late lunch last week and was lucky that the Mahi sandwich was the special. It was delicious. We also had Conch Fritters for an appetizer. We ate on the deck overlooking the ocean and actually got to see a dolphin swimming by! I think we had about 6 flying around our table by the time the entrees arrived. It's something to keep in mind. It was also pretty hot in there. The food was pretty good, though improvements can certainly be made. The hushpuppies were a bit dry, though I liked the corn in them. It was a neat touch. I got the rasta pasta. For the most part, it was tasty, although they didn't remove the shrimp tails. I can't say I'm a seafood connoisseur, so I dont know if that's normal for pasta dishes, but it's something to note. The Mahi Mahi and blackened tuna got positive feedback. We also got an appetizer of bacon-wrapped scallops. They were alright, I liked the touch of barbecue. Service was rather slow. The drink refills took a while, but both the sweet tea and lemonade were good. Overall, this felt fairly average, which I wouldn't say is necessarily a bad thing. I'd go for the sunshine grilled Mahi. Can't comment on dessert (I would have tried, but I was too full.) And I really do reccomend the lemonade, it tasted nice and freshly squeezed. Hope this helps.

The sandwich was so flavorful due to the mixed greens tomato slices and remoulade sauce. My boyfriend really liked the mahi-mahi with the mango salsa, coconut, jasmine rice, and steamed vegetables.
