Ordering this slop was a mistake. Was labeled as Shrimp and Grits. Hard miss

This was absolutely a mistake to go. It's a 100% tourist trap. Ordered the seared tuna as rare and it was certainly not local and was tasteless. Bottom of the barrel Sysco food delivery from somewhere in the world. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits that was absolutely terrible. The shrimp also not from the area and most likely poor Sysco food quality and looked boiled as it was rubbery and also tasteless. Neither one of us finished 1/4 of our meal. If you want French seafood or seafood better that the frozen section of food lion go someplace else. So glad we did not order an app that would have further wasted our money and time. The broccoli that came with the tuna was cold. I am shook that this place has the rating it does and long line of victims outside. For us...we will never return and do better research on fresh seafood in the area. #garbage.

Fun experience while at the beach with friends ! They warned us there would be a wait but worth it, so we went expecting one and had a drink outside with a view of the marsh. Dinner was good with some baskets of bread, I had the pasta with chicken and shrimp. The waitresses all had cute nicknames, like June bug, or something. They were nice and kept the drinks coming! We ended with s'mores at the table- so fun!

Just finished an amazing dinner at Amos Mosquitoes!! Shrimp and grits was fantastic as was the attentive staff

Shrimp and grits were amazing and the staff was fantastic. Well worth the wait!! We will definitely be back to try the pork chop as that looked great as well.

"Jethro" was our server on a rainy and dark Friday at the beach in February. It was our first time here and they sat us at the window overlooking the sound side of the restaurant. We enjoyed a lobster and crab dip and a cocktail. With dinner, we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with our meal. Everything was delicious, came out timely from the kitchen, and plenty of a portion to take home for leftovers. What really impressed us was the customer service exerted from the moment we walked in, to walking through the restaurant, and thanking us for visiting as we left. I can imagine during beach months, this place would be packed and bustling. Well, given the rain on a Friday in February, they were almost packed at 6:00 pm. A lot of comfort food choices for you to choose from. Enjoy!

I really wanted to love this restaurant, but adding nonsense fees ruined the experience. I reviewed the menu before our visit and the fee for sharing a meal was not disclosed. My boyfriend and I always order a bottle of wine, at least two appetizers and share a meal. We do this so that can try several items on the menu during one visit. I am almost 60 years old and my boyfriend's almost 70, so eating appetizers and then a full meal each isn't possible. We had already ordered a bottle of wine and two appetizers before we found out that they add on a $4.00 fee if you want to share a meal. I understand it's a small fee, but I refuse to pay fee's. It's just the principal. We ended up ordering another appetizer instead that turned out to be very disappointing. It turns out we both lose. The additional appetizer that we purchased was only $14.95, however, the entrée that we were going to share what's $34.95.

Servers are so kind and food was INSANELY delicious! Long wait, 50-60 minutes for a table of 2 but it was a Friday night and staff and managers were all kind and very friendly. Pork chops are a MUST get and jerk chicken was also the best I've had.

Ask the Community - Amos Mosquito's Restaurant & Bar

Are you open on Easter this year?

Kathee, we are open Tuesday thru Saturday the week of Easter. We are closed on Easter Sunday, April 5th but are planning to be open Easter Monday, April 6th. Thank you for reaching out and we hope to see you one night over the Easter holiday.l

Are you open for Thanksgiving dinner? If so, price per person, please.

Kay H, thank you for the inquiry. We are not open on Thanksgiving Day. We are open on the Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights that week but not Thursday. Hope you will dine with us sometime that week.

    Are reservations suggested?

I don't believe they take reservations! You just need to get there about 1/2 hour before they open if you wanna sit out on the Sun porch which is the best seating I think!

    Do you serve raw oysters?

Hayley, we do use fresh oysters for our fried and broiled seafood platters but we do not serve raw oysters on the half shell.…

What IPAs do y'all have on tap?

Caroline, we are presently serving the R & D Brewing Backspin Hazy IPA on tap. We also serve Hoppyum by the bottle. We hope to see you soon at Amos Mosquito's Restaurant.

How do they notify you when your wait is over? Do you have to be present or do they have a text system?

Katie Z, we hand out pagers so that we can notify people when their table is ready. We can also take a phone number and call you if we are running ahead of schedule, you do not have to wait the whole time at the restaurant. Hope you can make it in…

Do we need reservations for a Wednesday night?

They don’t take reservations, I would get there soon after they open if you want a seat. Most of time 1 1/2 wait but worth it.

This is an unexpectedly great restaurant right at the center of activity in Atlantic Beach. In my…read moreexperience, finding good seafood restaurants in and around Atlantic Beach (even including Morehead City - where there are a dwindling few) can be surprisingly difficult, especially compared to the pelagic bounty of most coastal Carolina towns. Bahia has probably the best food I've had from any of the current crop of Atlantic Beach places. Every dish I've tried so far has been excellent. One in particular needs to be highlighted. The crab dip is possibly the best I've ever eaten, anywhere. You need to try it. Pro tip: Be prepared for the generous amount of butter and oil in and on the food -- it adds to the richness and is definitely a good thing, but you'll want to be careful if you're planning on performing microsurgery or wiping your eyeglasses. There is unobtrusive but good quality live music, which is always a plus (and seems more well-considered than the solo guitar dudes repeatedly playing "Free Fallin" at the neighboring restaurants and bars). The air conditioning indoors does a heroic job of keeping the restaurant a relatively nice temperature, as well.

Although Bahia seem casual, they do have a pretty good service and set…read more We tried 3 dishes and enjoyed most of them. - Crab dip was very very good. - hamburger was cooked medium rare (really) unlike many other restaurants. - meat balls we're not as satisfactory as the sauce was quite sweet. We will come back as we enjoyed it.
