I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone -- the receptionist's attitude alone speaks volumes. I…read morehad the misfortune of speaking with someone named Chris, who seemed annoyed that we were new patients looking to establish care. Rude, dismissive, and clearly put out -- not exactly what you expect from a healthcare professional. If this is the front line of the clinic, I can only imagine what the rest is like. I hung up and immediately changed our PCP. Perhaps the clinic should prescribe its reception staff a dose of basic manners.

I will preface my review by saying that my issue is not with my previous doctor., Dr. Oglesby. My…read moredisappointment was with the office staff who refused to help me find a solution for a temporary refill of my non-narcotic medically necessary medication which doctor Oglesby manages. I was made to feel at fault for running out while he was gone. I even went by the clinic in person to try to talk to someone explain the situation more clearly, but that was a waste of time also. I called another office within the Utica system and found in very nice p a who did not understand why this had been a big issue and immediately prescribed me a temporary refill to get me through to my next appointment. It was such an easy solution but one which I could never get addressed because I could never get past the office staff to speak to a doctor or PA directly. I've been at this location for 7 years, but have switched to a practice where patient care is important and the staff is kind and helpful. I doubt my doctor will ever see this and it will probably be handled by the people who closed the problem in the first place, but posting anyway.

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. I began going to BA Family Clinic 30 years ago and was always pleased with Dr…read more Brian Coder. However, I brought my teenage grandson to the clinic. This is what we experienced: The MA weighed him but was in too much of a hurry to measure his height. She asked him to 'estimate' his height, even though he was not sure, she accepted his guess, even though the stadiometer was nearby. She did not make eye contact and then took his blood pressure over top of his thick hoodie (this can lead to significantly higher systolic and diastolic readings). Next, while we had been told he would see the Physician Assistant, a PA Student came in. She DID NOT listen to his heart correctly as she listened through the thick hoodie (the material significantly reduces sound quality making detailed auscultation difficult). She DID NOT check his abdomen for tenderness and DID NOT check his skin, muscle strength, or reflexes. She also DID NOT order blood tests to check for cholesterol, blood sugar, or urine tests. She DID NOT ask about family history or what medications he is taking. What she DID do was advise us that she allows her 16 year old son to stay up at night as long as he wishes and then sleep all day and recommended the same privilege for my grandson. She also ADVISED US that it is completely healthy to only eat one meal a day...in the evening (which, of course makes it impossible to get enough nutrients to be healthy and causes him to go through his day with no energy). She DISREGARDED his apparent lack of energy as he yawned in front of her demonstrating his compromised system since he hadn't eaten that day. Finally, we were told the originally scheduled PA would momentarily step in to make her appearance since the appointment was with her and so the clinic can comply with regulations that she oversee the student PA. The PA did not do any testing and simply lectured about drinking water all day and getting more sleep. The staff failed us. We won't be coming back.

I have lots of horror stories I can share if you want to message me directly. Worst doctors office I've ever dealt with and I've lived in three states. Do you like being lied to? Waiting three weeks for test results? Never getting some test results? Having the office lose your tests? Being talked down to by minimum wage earning billing people? If so, this is the doctors office for you! For added pleasure they will nickel and dime you and offer you a payment plan for $36. Contacting BBB over the scamming business they run.

My Dr was pleasant, direct and thorough. I appreciate that. Update Spent the afternoon there yesterday for a 3:30 appointment. Place was PACKED! A large number of ill folks, myself included, along with others there for new 2018 health insurance program stuff. People in the lobby were complaining loudly about the wait and the staff being behind. Once I was called back I realized some of the chaos. Rooms were switched to accommodate and elderly gentleman with a head injury and a Dr needed a special room. The staff nurses were charging without hesitation and the doctors were covering as best they could. We need to realize that sometimes they can get overrun but they are Doug the best they can. Keep up the good work. I'll be back.
