They just finished their second job for us,…read moreand this one was a big deal after a flood--checking for mold, replacing the whole flooring system (which involved pouring concrete). They also built a new outdoor deck to replace our old one. They were a pleasure to deal with: super-communicative and responsive, respectful of our space, did a great job moving things, protecting our belongings from dust, painting carefully afterwards. The craftsmanship is impeccable and beautiful. It looks even better than we hoped, and none of those nagging "oh I wish they had done it *this* way" feelings that you often have after a contractor does their thing. And ... the price was entirely reasonable, with no hidden costs or surprise billing. I would call Lanzo again in a heartbeat. My wife even wished we had more work to do so we could keep them around longer!?!

Martin was always open to suggestions and changes. He was great at working together and in sync with the cabinet maker, and the countertop builder/designer, nobody had to delay their part of the project to finish our renovation. Martin's crew opened all the walls in our kitchen, living room and bathroom, and they prepared the water and gas connections, and replaced all the electrical wiring for the new appliances, light fixtures and a new electrical panel for the whole apartment. In the bathroom they installed a new bathtub with glass doors, sink, toilet, shower head and a medicine cabinet, they did the tile work for the walls and the floor, and the electrical wiring for the main light fixture and for the medicine cabinet. In the living room, they removed partially a wall and created a small dinning area and pantry section behind a wall. They also installed new gallery style lighting, and a light fixture over our dining table, and they put electrical outlets in every wall of the apartment, bringing all the electrical up to code and into de 21st century. For the kitchen, we hired an incredible cabinet maker that designed and built ours in the kitchen and a pantry unit in our hallway. We also hired a specialist on granite counter tops for our kitchen. Martin's crew prepared the walls for the new cabinets and they did the tile work on the walls and floor in the kitchen, and helped to set the countertops Martin was in charge of demolition, dry wall, electrical wiring and appliances installation, tile work in kitchen and bathroom, plumbing work in the kitchen and bathroom; also in charge of carpentry by building closets, installing sliding and regular doors, installing and finishing wooden floors, and painting the whole apartment. We are very satisfied with his work, and fair price, we will keep requesting his services for keeping up our apartment We are recommending Martin and his business to everybody that would like to have a great experience and a superb finished job doing a renovation.

My wife and I were delighted by the beautiful work done by ATOZ Renovations. We're not in the habit…read moreof writing rave reviews. (We're New Yorkers after all.) But the job they did deserves recognition. Among the many people worth a shout-out: designer Chaya Uzan whose enthusiasm and ideas gave us a sense that our project was quite special; and Robbie Goldberg, our day-to-day contact and project manager, who brought a craftsman's eye to all aspects of the job. When problems were encountered, problems were fixed. An example: once we installed a new oven in the kitchen we realized that we would have to do without a favorite built-in spice cabinet. Robbie came up with ingenious fix requiring some custom carpentry so that the spice rack did not disappear but became an integral of the whole. Anthony, our renovation expert, was our first contact with A to Z. He encouraged us not to give up on what we wanted the project to look like even though other renovators had told us it was impossible to do. He also offered to answer any questions we might have along the way. Then there's Shevy, the permit and insurance coordinator. She dealt with the necessary paperwork and kept the inspectors at bay so we did not have to deal with those headaches. And last but not least, Mario, the site manager, who was there every day, hands-on, always professional and pleasant. On that note, the entire team seemed to like one another and treated us and each other with a refreshing degree of decency and consideration. To summarize: The team at ATOZ was thoroughly professional and kept us informed with clear, consistent communication every step of the way. Importantly, the team worked efficiently to stay on schedule and were fair when an unexpected issues arose, providing clear solutions. The final result is exceptional, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend ATOZ to anyone.

    ## **Detailed Review of Royal Renovators (Experience from ~2023) **…read more My experience with Royal Renovators in 2023 was extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and ultimately costly. I normally don't leave reviews, but the level of incompetence and deception I encountered deserves to be shared so others can avoid the same situation. ### **1. Repeated Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Charges** We originally contacted Royal Renovators because our roof was leaking. They came out twice and still couldn't identify the source of the problem. Each visit came with new explanations and new charges, none of which made sense in hindsight. Eventually, they claimed they had finally found the issue and charged us approximately **$4,800** for the repair. We trusted their assessment and paid, hoping the leak would finally be resolved. ### **2. Leak Still Present -- and More Confusion** The next time it rained, the leak was still there. Same spot, same issue. When we called them back, they used a drone to inspect the roof but still couldn't figure out what was wrong. Their uncertainty was alarming. We ended up using **our own drone**, and we were the ones who actually located the problem area. When we pointed it out to them, they insisted the leak was coming from the chimney area -- which was completely incorrect. At that point, it was obvious they were guessing, not diagnosing. ### **3. The Skylight Disaster** While they were assessing the roof leak, we made the mistake of agreeing to have a skylight installed at the same time. That turned out to be another huge error. The skylight they installed looks like a **DIY project**, not professional work. It has a **constant draft**, and when the weather gets cold, the draft is unbearable. It's clear they had no idea what they were doing, and the workmanship reflects that. Instead of adding value to our home, the skylight became another problem we had to live with. ### **4. Lack of Professionalism and Skill** Between the misdiagnosed leak, the sloppy skylight installation, and the inconsistent explanations, it became clear that the workers and foremen lacked the knowledge and professionalism expected from a roofing company. Their priority seemed to be collecting payments, not fixing the actual issues. ### **5. A Competent Company Fixed Everything** We finally decided to get a second opinion and found **2BQ Roofing**. The difference was immediate. They assessed the roof and instantly identified the real issue -- something Royal Renovators failed to do after multiple visits and thousands of dollars. 2BQ Roofing fixed the problem correctly, and here we are **three years later with not a single drop of water**. That alone speaks volumes. ### **6. Final Thoughts** I would never recommend Royal Renovators to anyone. Their service was unprofessional, their workers were incompetent, and their repeated misdiagnoses cost us time, stress, and money. The skylight installation was just the final confirmation that they were not capable of doing the job. If you're looking for a roofing company that actually knows what they're doing, skip Royal Renovators entirely. Our experience with them was a complete waste, and the only real solution came from hiring a different company.
