Having been suffering from chest pain and heart fluttering, I had consulted a cardiologist at Cedars Towers who had dismissed my complaint. Seeking a better opinion, my father's rheumatologist suggested Dr. Quesada, so I scheduled and appointment with him based on the great service he had given my dad. Dr. Quesada listened to me describe my symptoms without interrupting. He did a full workup, including several different scans and monitoring of the heart. Amazingly, he went over each test with me the same day, explaining everything in detail. He even showed me a 3D image of my heart and did an AI analysis of the scan. His commitment was the reason I selected him as my primary doctor. His team is responsive with emails and phone calls. When I came down with COVID, he called in medication immediately to my pharmacy. Dr. Quesada is unquestionably a skilled doctor, and his front desk staff is great; I especially like his secretary. Unfortunately, however, I encountered significant difficulty when attempting to confirm the amount due and pay my bill for services rendered following my last visit. The practice is in-network for my PPO insurance, but my insurance company raised an eyebrow at some of the coding. I was raised by medical professionals (one of them a doctor and professor of medicine), so I know my way around medical billing and possess a knowledge of coding and medical terminology that's not cursory. After numerous calls and voicemails (many that went unreturned) over two months, I secured what I hope is accurate accounting. Although I was satisfied with the service provided and hoped to continue seeing Dr. Quesada, I'll be moving on from this practice. I value my time. The amount of back and forth I had to sit through was extremely disappointing and held up the next steps for me, as recommended by Dr. Quesada. Since I can't be sure I wouldn't end up chasing accurate accounting and returned calls again, it's best to move on. I hope this practice examines its communication style and processes concerning billing. They're as integral to the patient experience as all other parts. In my case, they were paramount. To begin Dr. Quezada is not a compassionate Dr. as other reviews stated his quality of care is predetermined by other Drs. Notes and test. Save yourself time if you have previous test ran by other Drs. Or do yourself a favor and dont share any information as he will be fixated on a diagnosis previously given I had to literally beg him to put me on a heart monitor since our very first meeting he was dismissed despite my debilitating symptoms he was completely condescending and told me numerous times and I "quote I really hope you dont go down the rabbit hole" was upset at the fact that I was voicing my concerns and made me feel like I was wrong for even having any concerns because according to him "all test indicated there was nothing wrong with me" again without even running one single test himself. After reluctantly putting me on a heart monitor for only 5 days he calls with the same smug attitude to try and push yet again a pill on me without even having a definite diagnosis he stated based on the heart monitor he was "suspecting POTS" and to eat more salt he was super unprofessional after I asked which kind of POTS did I have and I questioned him about a tilt table to determine how to properly treat my symptoms since my symptoms are not the typical POTS symptoms he told me he was "not concerned" about the symptoms I was expressing. He then proceeded to tell me I was being irrational not once but several times during our call as I told him I am not irrational I just want to ensure I am being diagnosed and treated correctly based on a proper diagnosis he decided we "were not a good fit and he couldn't help me" Dr. Quezada does not have the patience to deal with a patient who has questions he does not like to be questioned and refuses to leave his ego aside to actually listen to the point of almost prescribing medication based on a "suspicion" and lab work and notes from other Drs and specialist that have nothing to do with his field of work then turns around and blame his patient for being concern about their health this is gaslighting at its best. He is correct we are not a good fit I need a Dr. who listens not one that reads my file and has a preconception of me even before speaking to me. If you want a Dr. who cares more about what he has to say and will speak to you in a disrespectful manner if you question him then this is the Dr. for you he will for sure make you feel like you are the problem and your concerns are "irrational" I have never met such a disrespectful Dr. in my life and I have chronic health issues. Dr. Quesada gave me a good impression during my first visit, despite the 30 minute wait. He seems to be a good doctor. However, on my second appointment he made me wait for over 45 minutes, after which time I was told that he would not see me. I made another appointment, and he had me waiting for over an hour. I again could not see him. I gave him another chance and made a new appointment. Minutes before this last appointment I was told that he again would not see me and that I was no longer a registered patient. Yet, the day before my last appointment I received a confirmation call from his scheduler and a letter asking me to pay a $500 "administrative fee" which will now be charged to all patients (which fee I was even willing to pay). I tried to speak with his secretary and with the office manager to see what was going on. Neither of them called me back. Dr. Quesada also never had the decency to reach out, despite my multiple requests for a callback. His office did try to bill my insurance every time. Other patients I know have had similar experiences - overbilling, long wait times, no callback to discuss test results, etc. This is the most disrespectful and worst managed office in Los Angeles. read more

Dr Quesada is a remarkable Cardiologist. He trained at the Mayo Clinic. My wife had a clogged artery and he used cutting edge technology to determine if it was dangerous. The test results said that he should do an angiogram to investigate. She ended up getting a stent and is feeling better. Most cardiologists would not have access to that technology. I see him too. I'm more of a proponent of a combination of natural supplements and pharmaceuticals. I walk numerous miles a day and do a daily workout. I follow a lo carb diet. Dr Quesada is knowledgeable about how to counsel me too. It's rare to find a Cardiologist that has knowledge of supplements, diet and pharmaceuticals. Dr. Quesada is an outstanding doctor. Our family came to him when an emergency situation arose during our vacation on the West Coast. We live overseas and were away from my father's primary cardiologist when my father started exhibiting COVID symptoms, including increased difficulty with breathing. A family friend in Los Angeles is a current patient of Dr. Quesada's and recommended we contact him. We did so and Dr. Quesada acted quickly to assess the situation and identify plans of action to both minimize and prepare for worst case scenarios. He was resourceful and able to locate and secure medication that would work best for my father's situation and underlying heart condition. Under Dr. Quesada's care, my father was able to avoid being hospitalized and felt back to normal in a little over a week. We are deeply thankful for Dr. Quesada's level headedness, compassion and intelligence. The very rude receptionist called it an "Administrative fee" that is outside of my insurance coverage. This is utterly unethical if not illegal... and a complete waste of my time. They seem to be "I am the Dr. - you are the patient"... Maybe they have too many high $$$$$ clients, but they seem to be...? They didn't care about my thoughts and my impressions. On the opposite to that, Dr. Quesada is nice, friendly and open. But don't take this as a sign of simplicity... He scanned me upside-down, left-to-right and right-to-left... And down-up again. I had taken all... all sorts of tests before the Dr. decided to make some conclusions. HE IS THOUROUGH. And so he suggested a plan, and that plan, probably makes sense from medical stand point. At least other opinions (sorry Doc., when it comes to messing with my heart and life... I did get another opinion... ) so other opinions were the same.... And when I explained to him why I am not comfortable, he wasn't pushy, defensive or anything of the kind. He just offered me the next best solution, that totally was satisfying to me. Words cannot express how great Dr. Quesada is. I have just moved back to LA and was in search of a doctor to help monitor my heart condition based on past family history of heart disease, and to get refills of my current medication. I saw online that Dr Quesada had a well rounded education and training from Harvard Medical School, UCLA and Mayo Clinic and I thought this was a no brainer to try and see him. It turns out that he was accepting new patients too! I was easily able to make an appointment and saw Dr Quesada within days. The clinic itself was very clean and conveniently located in Beverly Hills. Dr. Quesada was very nice and I felt that he really listened to me when I met him and explained my past history and concerns. I would like to recognize Doctor Quesada for the outstanding services he provided for my father who was in a pinch. My father, who is in an at risk category, contracted covid and started having symptoms while on vacation which promted us to contact Dr. Quesada. He quickly sprung into action and within just a few hours he was somehow able to locate and facilitate the newly released and hard to find Pfizer drug, Paxlovid, for pick up at a nearby hospital. His ability to quickly assess the situation, responsiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond is what really stood out to me and in all liklihood its what made the differene in the favorable outcome. Dr. Quesada is an amazing doctor and this review is much overdue! If you are having heart issues or cardiac symptoms, he is the person you need to see. I was having episodic palpitations last year that were frequent and alarming. I saw a few different doctors in addition to another cardiologist prior to seeing Dr. Quesada who all brushed off my symptoms as anxiety (even though I was not feeling anxious). Dr. Quesada was the only doctor who took me seriously. On my first visit he told me that he believed me and we would get to the bottom of what was happening. He did thorough bloodwork/testing and I wore a small heart monitor for two weeks which uncovered a benign arrhythmia. He reviewed everything with me in his office and answered all of my questions. I was so relieved to find out what I was experiencing was NOT in my head or anxiety. I have been at peace ever since my appointments with him knowing that what I feel is benign and not dangerous to my health.
