Amazing! I was on a road trip alone with my kids headed past Los Banõs when I got a flat. After changing the tire into spare I realized we couldn't make it all the way to our destination. Walmart didn't have my tire size but Carlos' did! I was recommended to them by the Walmart cashier and the person in line behind me. I called and the had my tire size! It took about 20 minutes total and it was right before they closed. They were so kind and helpful! Thank you to the team! The one thing was that their system was down so I had to pull out cash at the nearby gas station, but honestly that wasn't an issue for me. I've had two experiences here - one time bought a pair of used tires to get a car along until we could afford a full set, they installed two different size tires, not ideal. Second time i needed a set of TPMS monitors reset and calibrated and he quoted double what anyone else wanted and gave me a story that was absolutely grooming me to charge even more when he had problems with he TPMS sensors I provided. Carlos and Luis explained to me fully what they thought it was and all the possibilities causing my problem. He gave me a choice to fix the water pump or just tow the car, no pressure on his part. I agreed to have the car serviced to change the water pump and he and Luis finished water pump and timing belt removal and installation in 3 hours. They are truly men with the want to help people on the road and have helped hundreds of people. My experience was excellent and they were honest fast and in the end they fixed my mystery problem which 3 other mechanics could not figure out. ‼‼SCAMMERS! DO NOT COME HERE ‼‼ Charged me $220 for 4 used tires (ridiculous) THEY only changed 3 of my tires !!! I can now tell in the light that one of my tires is the same and was NOT changed (couldn't see that well in dirt pit of a shop they have) They also damaged my lug nut threads inside my hub so only 3 out of 5 lug nuts are tight on one tire end. I came here under terrible circumstances 3 weeks ago, as huge potholes on highway 5, took out BOTH of my tires on the passenger side of my car. I drove in with my spare & then realized that the rear one was damaged beyond repair also. It was not an expense that I had anticipated obviously. Saved my ASS in the middle of the night. Called AAA after I shredded my front passenger tire on the 5 freeway (like everyone else). Luckily my AAA driver know about Carlos' doing after hours tires! Now they did charge $180 for after hours work. Once he gave me the grand total (new tire, labor, after hours fee), I subtracted $180 to see what he was charging me WITHOUT him getting out of bed in the middle of the night, and it was right on par with everywhere else that's done tires for me. Our car had a flat tire so we stopped there and when he checked it out, the Sir Mario recommended that I change all my tires to reduce risk of flats on my roadtrip. The tires I had before were in bad conditions, and Mario helped our car and transformed it to be in a better state of condition. I would not go to this place even if it means paying a tow truck to drive to the next closest place because chances are it will save you money. They put a defective used tired on our vehicle that didn't last even 24 hours before cracking and shredding after charging him $300. Yes three hundred dollars for ONE used tire. We had no choice as they were the only place within close proximity with the correct size tire. Took cash only and refused receipt or invoice. When I called and spoke to them, the man claiming to be the manager chuckled and said used tires have no warranty. Obviously, but they should last more then 24 hours. Getting home safe was the main priority. This place is a scam, has horrible common business practices, and should have their license taken. After speaking to our local tire shop the same used tire would be around the 65$ mark. We payed 450$ for a brand new great quality tire from a professional business when we got home. The expiration date of the tire this place put on is currently being investigated. Money is money and the very least of the problem. Safety, honesty, transparency, and being kind are most important. And this "business" has NONE of those qualities. Praying to god they didn't do the same to a vehicle with young children riding. If you've experienced a similar situation with this place I urge you to file a complaint with BAR (bureau of automotive repair) they should be made aware of all of the instances I am reading on previous reviews. Humans are human and mistakes happen and sometimes we don't get the service we expect. But I believe they are knowingly putting peoples lives at risk and get a chuckle out of it to make an extra buck. This place is worst auto shop place I've have ever been to. This man took complete advantage of my husband and I from the second we walked up to his shop. We had our Lincoln Navigator towed to his shop to have it looked at and see what's going on with it. Carlos stated after his diagnostic that it was a fuel pump issue and we could have it replaced with a new one for $780 including parts and installation, this is after he had already charged us for $170 on two tires for our other vehicle, his quote of $780 was way too high so we decided to purchase the part our selves and pay for installation fee only which he still charged us $380. Comes to find out the cars issue was not the fuel pump and it turns out the engine was blown. This information is all coming from Carlos and his mechanic. As much as I would like to complain about what a rip off this place is I'm still glad I got help when I did. This was the only tire shop open on weekend at 8pm or should I say would reopen for a $100 fee, which I was in no position to turn down. I was recommended to this place by a tow truck guy and was glad he told me about it. I will say that he gave me fair warning that this tire shop might charge me an arm and a leg, which in fact is exactly what happened. I asked the guy changing my tire how much it would be and he said it would cost $350 to change my blown out tire. Wow! Now that's what you call a legitimate rip off. Anywho, my bank would not allow me to pull out all that cash from an ATM and I tried to negotiate the price down and was able to only pay $320. All I can say is that all of the other alternatives sucked worse than paying all that money. I would have had to stay the night in an area that I'm not familiar with and probably dish out $100 for a hotel then rent a car, which would be an additional $100 or more. And then waste a whole sunday getting my tire fixed and that's even if anything would be open on a sunday. In a nutshell I would only "recommend" Carlos tire shop if your in a bind like I was and need to get home the same night. Even though I absolutely hate getting ripped off I'm grateful I was able to get back on the road the same night and be able to get home and finish my trip. Got stuck last fall on our way to Oakland on a Friday night. To late for this place to be open, actually most places were closed for the night... Saturday morning came and my cousin ended up using this shop, he told him his situation, towed us from the local motel down the street to their garage and found out what the problem was from the get go. Waiting area is cozy, and warm, it being fall the day had its usual rain and very cold. Staff was polite and informative. I ran over some car part dropped on the 5 N and it shredded my tire. AAA sent out a person and he was able to get it changed to a temporary spare, but we still had a long way to go. With 6 kids in the car a temporary tire wasn't going to cut it. Luis, the AAA subcontractor, told us that he knew of this place that would open on Sundays for people in need. After some quick Google-fu, I learned nothing else was open. Berto (it was the name on his shirt), charged us $80 to open for 30min on Sunday. He then charged us $185 for a tire. He asked me to pay the $80 in cash and told me to walk 1/4 mile to the ATM at a gas station. I paid the whole thing in cash and he was not thrilled to give me a receipt. I would only use this place in extreme emergency. Two stars instead of one becuase he saved my bacon on a Sunday. read more
