During a recent trip from SoCal to San Francisco on the I-5, the tire pressure system from our rental alerted us of low pressure. We pulled into the closest gas station to fill the tire with air thinking it was a simple fix. However, when we left the gas station and resumed our trip, the tire pressure monitoring system threw another light and we saw the tire pressure on the dash go from 32 PSI to 26 PSI in a matter seconds. I had my wife look up the closest tire shop, and we found Bruce's Tire. I called them while we were driving there to see if we needed to make an appt. and the guy that picked up the phone told us to just drop by. I forgot the name of the guy that helped me but he was really easy to work with. I told him I called earlier regarding a flat and he immediately had a mechanic take off the tire for inspection. Turns out there was a nail in the sidewall and couldn't be patched. I was under the impression that I was going to pay for the tire replacement. But it turns out, because it was a rental from Enterprise, he was able to get it covered 100%. We were in and out of there no more than 30 minutes. These guys are terrific and I recommend them 100%. read more

USE CAUTION ~ RIP OFF SHOP! We live locally. Girlfriend in her mid fifties took her car into this facility to do an oil change, thinking they would treat her right. Mechanics can easily see that knows squat about cars, so of course they tried to snooker her, by telling her she needed new front tires and struts. I worked on Jet fighters and have rebuilt several cars, and I found nothing wrong with either. I told her to take her car to two other reputable companies in town and simply ask to check the struts & tires, without saying what this location told her. BOTH locations advised her the struts & tires were just fine. THESE CROOKS NEED TO TRY TO SUCKER SOMEONE ELSE! ... Was traveling from Sacramento to Los Angeles and our Q5 got a flat tire/sidewall tear. We went to a few different spots to get a tire replacement but most places didn't carry the one we needed and the chain tire spot in town refused to change or sell just the one tire (told us we had to buy/replace the full set, but they also didn't carry the brand I prefer and I did not want to commit to a full set of something else). Jose at Bruce's was super helpful and gave us helpful recommendations and information and let us decide. We were in and out and less than an hour! We were on the road between San Jose and Bakersfield and my brakes started making a heinous grinding noise. We stopped in at Bruce's tire and auto since they were highly rated. We pulled in at 12:50pm. Unfortunately, the mechanic had just clocked out for lunch. His lunch would be an hour, but he would look at it right when he got back. 2:00 the mechanic takes it back and at 2:45pm we are told we need new brakes and rotors and to flush the fluid in the system. The gentleman at the counter says "Hour and a half, two hours tops" we hung out in their reasonably comfortable customer waiting area. I wish the Wi-Fi password had been posted somewhere because the Verizon coverage was a little sketchy. At 4:10 we are told "It's almost done, like 15 more minutes." It was done at 5:05pm. I really appreciated the assistance, especially on short notice. They were very kind, and my brakes work well. But, I would have preferred more realistic timing estimates, especially as they knew we were traveling and already had a really long day. read more

Good job, but a little too expensive!! $160 for a tire replacement and broken lug nut. (brought my own tire) Gave them a chance to earn my business, but NO thanks. came here for transmission oil change. valvoline cost $180 and this place charged me $320 when they just used Valvoline oil as well! my gas mileage also has gotten worse since coming to this place, so i'm not really sure what they did. do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! they don't explain or give you an itemized receipt. read more

On our way home from California moving our disabled mother we had a several things break on my Husbands truck. Bruce's was the only shop in town that wanted to tackle this project. They worked around the clock to tackle this project in a timely manner. They also found affordable prices, found parts that would be available to allow the quickest turn around. I had a car cut me off the road in the middle of nowhere and force me onto the right shoulder, which was sharp rocks. The tire tread completely disintegrated. Got a midnight tow and motel. Next day, called Bruce's and talked to Ricky. He put me on a quick hold and checked his store's stock and all of his suppliers, but nobody had my size wide performance tire that day. But he gave me the choice of 5 tires of various levels/prices w 24hr delivery. I picked, he said he'd have it next day 2pm and did. It was on in 5min and I drove away happy and relieved. These guys are terrific. I had an emergency repair while traveling through los Banos. I called four different auto repair shops. Three brushed me off. However Jacob and Ruben were both very helpful on the phone and took me in immediately. I had missed diagnosed the problem as a stuck thermostat. Fred measured temperature at the hose and within 30 minutes concluded I had no problem with overheating. The sensor may be out. For this, they charged only $30. I am very impressed. Also, as an old time hot rod guy and street racer, I was delighted to see this famous name is still alive and doing well. Frank had to make adjustments to 3 corners to get the alignment exactly where I requested to baseline the geometry and gave me a copy of the before and after results. I had the worst experience here today. I've always came to Bruce's Tire for all my automotive needs but this time they let me down. I purchased a battery here 5/23/22 and my battery went out. I called to get warranty information and the guy told me he couldn't find my information. Then he told me it was a interstate battery which they don't carry. So he referred me to another automotive shop in town,who informed me it wasn't a interstate battery it is a FVP Battery. Very frustrating that I bought my battery from Bruce's Tire and they referred me to a different automotive shop. Issue is still not resolved. read more

Please beware when bringing your car to Bruce's Tire. They are dishonest and take advantage of old men and young, naive people. For example, rotating your new tires with less than 1,000 miles driven and changing oil that was just changed weeks prior, under 1,000 miles. While traveling Hwy 5, a bolt came out of my brake caliper. I made it to Hwy 165 and Shell station. A local, Filipi Barba, told me about Bruce's tire and auto. I was towed to Bruce's tire and auto at 205 Pacheco Blvd. Los Banos, CA, I spent the night at Best Western which was next door. These guys deserve 10 stars! Today on my way home from San Diego, I had a blow out in 103 degree heat off of I-5 NB about 10 miles from Los Banos. I walked into Bruce's Tires at 5:05pm. They were technically closed but the door was still open. I walked in with my dog and cat and asked for one tire along with installation. Everybody was very nice. Sergio said he would help. This place sucks. Went in for brakes. Guy said he can have it done by the end of the day. Called around 4. They said they "didn't order the right parts and would need to keep it overnight" I said no I have to go to work. I get there and the guy says. "Come back on Saturday and we can have it done". My low tire pressure light went off on the 5. Thankfully, I was referred to Bruce's Tires who saw me right when they opened at 7:30 the next morning. I cannot thank Jose and his team enough for their kindness and their expertise! Turns out the tow truck that the insurance company sent to me, overinflated my tires, which caused a secondary issue. Jose and his team quickly diagnosed the problems, fixed the tire pressure, reset and calibrated everything, showed me how to do it and explained everything in great detail. In less than 7 minutes from when I got there, I was safely on my way, comforted by their expertise. So much more than a tire shop. I was referred to these guys when my car broke down on I5. I spent a couple hours trying to find the best place to go, and find it I did. After considering going to a dealership, I was actually referred to Bruce's Tire BY the dealership. Someone at the dealership said "if it were me, I would take it to them". Now you can imagine the difficulty writing a positive review when a couple of hours after receiving my vehicle, I got a call from them that the Vehicle was seized and basically done. But they dealt with everything with such sincerity, honesty and professionalism, that it made the experience of receiving such news SO much smoother. Whats better is that as I mentioned, they are so much more than a tire shop and within hours I had a quote for an entire engine replacement!!!! Stephen was the one that walked us through the entire process, and even went so far as to get our family to a car rental agency within 10 minutes (before it closed), just to help us out.
