This place is alright. It had a good vibe to it though. I think it would be great to drink and eat in the hut. The food was good. The pork sisig taste good but mostly had pork fat. The pancit canton was as expected. The mango shakes didn't have much flavor to it. The service wasn't great either. We had to wait a while to get the menus. The shakes cost almost as much as the meal. It was a good option for the island.

This was a pretty good find in Coron for us. The service was fast (they probably read the reviews from other people :)), the food and drinks were good too. We had sizzling gambas with shrimp, squid and veggies, adobo chicken, garlic rice, and a plate of spinach. The dishes had a lot of flavor and were cooked to perfection. The portions are on a smaller side but it was enough for us even though we were really hungry. We also ordered a couple of Tom Collins as our drinks and it was made just right- not too sweet or bland and very refreshing. We loved sitting in the cabana, it was cozy and cool.

Great food tonight with great service. The portions are huge and can easily be shared with another person. We recommend coming to this restaurant at least once during your stay in Coron.

Hostess wasn't the happiest of staff but that's ok. She was very attentive and helpful. Plenty of other staff around as well. Outdoor covered seating which meant fans as only air blowing. Ordered full rack of pork ribs, Tanigue Kinilaw and seafood carbonara. All very very good. Ribs came connected with the vertebrae bone or something so we couldn't separate the ribs. Ask the kitchen to cut the ribs for us and they still could not. Kinda funny but we dug in. Also ordered ube nangka turon with cheese ice cream. We were directed to a nipa hut for seating and offered menus immediately. No AC but we did have a fan in our hut that was helpful in circulating air in the section. We ordered one of the seafood platters, fried chicken with fries, kang kong with garlic, mushrooms, long silog, a fresh buko juice, and a few soft drinks-Coke, Sprite, bottled water. The food came out almost immediately (the long silog was the last to come out). The fried chicken (by photo had 4 pieces and fries) was only 3 pieces with fries. Pretty tasty and definitely different from fried chicken back home. The kang kong was really good, especially with extra amounts of garlic. Same with the mushrooms, although I ate around the green chiles since I don't really do spice. I did like the platter of seafood--delicious fish, 2 clams were pretty good with seasoning, 6 shrimp with garlic, and small amount of kang kong with some garlic. Honestly, the platter was more appropriate to feed 2 to even 3 people (if that). The long silog came and was as expected with the rice, egg, 2 links of longganisa and some fresh fruit. The fresh buko was huge with a lot of coconut juice and meat inside. It came with a spoon and straw to sip out juice/scoop out meat. The presentation was amazing, but I felt like you were paying more for the look and less for the food portions. Service was also a bit sporadic. They were pretty attentive up until we got the food but I feel like they were under staffed for the amount of people in the venue. Also note that you have to use a tabo for hand washing and using the toilet. No running water here. The toilets and handwash area are located at the back of the restaurant and a hand wash sink area set up more central to the restaurant When checking out at the front, we were given the option of cash or charge. If you do charge, it is a 10% service fee.

Many seating options for you to choose from: traditional tables and chairs, low tables where you can sit on the floor, or a nipa hut style booth. No aircon but the fans are sufficient in the morning or at night when it's cooler. We felt adventurous, so we tried: - Crocodile sisig - Meat was ground up, couldn't really appreciate the crocodile meat's taste and texture. It would be better if meat was cut up into chunks instead. - Bird's Nest Soup - made from nests collected locally. This was a tasty soup, similar in texture and taste to a Chinese egg drop soup. - Sizzling Garlic Kangkong - tasty - Ensaladang Lato (Seaweed salad) - think of popping boba from the sea. - Roasted chicken - ok - Lechon Kawali - hard to chew - Sinigang na isda - ok - Complimentary fish or shrimp crackers - crunchy and tasty. Friendly accommodating staff, relaxing atmosphere with piano music playing in the background, and Island cats lounging under the tables waiting for your scraps: it's a solid place to have a meal.

Good place for seafood [CORON, PALAWAN Philippines]…read more I don't usually eat 3 full meals a day plus snacking in between (we call it "'merienda") but it's so hard to be disciplined on a diet when surrounded by good food. This is another seafood place we dined in that is closer to our hotel resort. We ordered mostly seafood items here. We picked a couple of live mud crabs from their tank and chose the butter garlic flavor and steamed with garlic. We also ordered pork BBQ, lechon kawali (deep-fried pork belly), nilaga (a comfort food which is stew w/ meat and veggies), and calamansi juice all around. Mom was having a feast the most... she loves crabs. Everything was good. Service was better here as the waiter checked on us during our entire meal. Not a quiet place to have conversations though because of the live band. The only time it got quiet was when the entertainment went on a short intermission LoL! 3.5 Stars. Review #3363

Second, The lady server was 0 customer service she looks so pissed serving us, the moment we arrived. She said the platter were 2-3people serving, but in reality its just 1-2 person per plate. Lastly, the Most "Scam" why? We ordered 3 plates of shrimps, it was mostly Head Shrimps the number of head shrimps and the number of shrimp tail are not equal. like 12 heads I counted but only 6pcs of tails.! the worst part they gave us 2 plates and the server said, the cooked mistakenly combined the 2plates order in one plate. So thats already total of 3. We felt scammed like they have the same amount. What was our assurance for their statement. That was over for us. We did not argue we just want to finish our food and leave. For all the tourists visiting, Beware! we Highly NOT RECOMMEND this place! But if you want to risk it go ahead, go waste your time and money . In end you'll end up unsatisfied.

They are located right on the beach in Central El Nido on Rizal Street. Unlike other "Filipino" restaurants around town, you will actually see local Filipino families dining in. That's how you know it's legit! We visited twice while in El Nido. The 1st time around, we pointed at the fresh seafood outside to have it grilled up and served to us upstairs some time later. I had a Unicorn Fish, a sweet, slightly briny white fish native to El Nido. My friend had a fresh Yellowtail and we also opted for the biggest should-be lobster prawn they had. So delicious. The 2nd visit, we watched the sunset from a window side table as a close to our island hopping tours. On said visit, we ordered Sizzling Pork Sisig, Beef Kaldereta, and Crispy Pata. Each dish was absolutely ginormous and automatically comes with rice. The ultimate best value on the island! Yes, dishes such as Crispy Pata and Sisig are on the fluffier/ fattier side but that's what makes it GOOD. Beef Kaldereta was saucier than I am accustomed but I engorged myself in its richness. Keep in mind, dishes are 250-350 PHP but are served as family style portions. Service was hit or miss at least when it came to getting the bill, but you really gotta raise your hand and yell at them -- it is the way, the Filipino way! They are also more likely to cater to the locals first which may contribute to a wait, but with such a beautiful view in paradise and the bustling of the restaurant teeming with people watching opportunities including some adings coming around selling home-made pastillas de leche, there is just so much to distract while you wait the some times 20-30 minutes for your food.

It has all the signs and symptoms of a tourist trap, BUT it doesn't have to come with bad food. The food here is very good. In all actuality, the food here is pretty much chef inspired. It's delicious and it's calibrated to cater to the foreign toungue. Why wouldn't you order the seafood here? Look around you! 360° of ocean water. NO JOKE! Three things that jumped out and spoke to me was the Kilawin (filipino version of cevice), sea grape salad, and the Prawns (shrimp on steroids) La Serenita style. Let's talk about the Prawns La Sirenetta. I don't know who did the sauce, but it's mouth smashingly exquisite! Strong garlicky note with creamy coconut white wine sauce is truly out of this world. The sea grapes are a local thing with a western twist. I'm used to just eating this tossed with just tomatoes. The western twist with the vinaigrette is different, but it works. The tuna chunks,,, if you like sashime, you'll love this dish. Don't bother ordering the sea grapes and the tuna chunks if you're the chicken fingers and potato sticks type of person. Trust me, your tastebuds are too ignorant for that sort of thing. We came for a late lunch just because I knew what kind of view we're dealing with. A few drinks after the meal to pass the time up until sunset is fitting for this location. La Sirenetta is definitely not just a tourist trap, it's a Landmark not to be missed here in Coron.
