Worst fast food stop ever! We ordered two hamburgers and they completely messed up our order. Then they had to remake it and messed it up again. I finally had to ask for pickles and tomatoes myself and make it in the car. They didn't wrap the burgers and just threw them in the outer wrap. When I told them I need it wrapped because my 5 year old can't hold it together and eat it because it's lettuce wrapped and goes everywhere. He said they only put paper on lettuce wrap burgers at some locations. What?! Every burger is always wrapped. Guy was super rude and can't believe it took 30 min to get two burgers right. Place was a pig stye from the minute we pulled up. Black bubble gum spots on the approach sidewalk and out into the parking lot. Windows were filthy with prints, dust, spider webs. Went inside and they had two young men working registers who looked completely overwhelmed and confused. There were fries and trash all over the floor behind the register. One of the cooks had his phone in one hand while trying to prepare food with the other. A young woman finally got her meal and after walking to her car realized it was wrong and brought back to the cashier who we witnessed put each sandwich/burger item back in the queuing rack to be given to another customer. What a shit show! I had not been to Carl's Jr for years but my girlfriend talked me into it and I thought i would give it a try. Now they have lost two customers not just one! The reason I gave this location 2 stars is because of the women's restroom. This may sound bad, but Baker, CA is a pit stop for almost everyone that passes through it for restroom breaks between Las Vegas and LA. Every place in this town should have a clean restroom. Well this fact was missed on this Carl's Jr. The women's restroom smelled of urine (now that gets my appetite going!), had messy stalls, and a pile of dirty diapers next to the changing table. Route 127 is a less-traveled backroads highway that takes you to the southern and eastern entrances of Death Valley National Park. I have visited Death Valley National Park on six different weekends, in the years 2013-2014, and found Carl's Jr. to be a welcome pit stop after a long day of hiking and photography. I always order the Carl's Jr. Santa Fe chicken sandwich, and typically I always pay extra for additional roasted green chiles. Because of the energy-draining quality of hiking and doing photography for eight straight hours, and because of their delicious nature, I sometimes order TWO Santa Fe chicken sandwiches. Mmmm, I do like them. Carl's Jr. In Baker, CA is clean, and has polite and service-oriented cashiers. I am also glad that Carl's Jr. In Baker, CA has good cell phone reception, since I like to call my better half after completing my long day of exploring and hiking. After my weekend desert photography weekends, I have also gone to Carl's Jr. in Ridgecrest, CA and in Joshua Tree, CA, and always order Santa Fe chicken, with extra roasted green chiles. THE MAD GREEK. An alternative to Carl's Jr. in Baker, CA is The Mad Greek. The Mad Greek is also located at the same intersection of Route 15 and Route 127, but I think that one visit to The Mad Greek is enough. The Mad Greek is distinguished by its amusing tacky decor (plenty of faux Greek statues), but the cuisine is not perfect (the dolmas are soggy). And so, I tend to opt for Carl's Jr. when returning home from Death Valley, but once I stopped in Barstow at a Subway restaurant. CARL'S JR. COFFEE. Also, the coffee at Carl's Jr. is good. The coffee is MUCH BETTER than that from Starbucks (blech, yech, ewww) but not as good as the coffee from Peet's. I don't really eat fast food but I was traveling with friends who wanted to eat a little something and wanted to go here. I'm more for mom and pop janky kitsch diners and such, but they get to pick since they're driving. I had a turkey teriyaki burger and it was just OK. The patty was like those premade minced meat patties which it wasn't a decade ago (the last time I had ordered it) which sucks. Prices were a bit more inflated according to people. I have said it before and I will say it again. I love Carl's JR burgers. I know most people prefer an InNOut but Carl's JR is where I go when I want a burger quick and conveniently. Unbelievable experience! Stopped in for a quick bite before heading home from Vegas. As most travelers you enter the restaurant to use the restroom before ordering. The restroom looked like it has not been cleaned for a while. When it was my turned to order, I inform the cashier that the bathroom needs attention. He said ok and proceeded to take the order. While waiting the 3 cooks and the cashier started arguing about what needed to be done and who was taking long. People from the drive thru got off and started complaining while the customers in the restaurants started complaining on food quality and timeliness. I wanted to ask for a refund but it would of taken longer to receive it. This establishment is dysfunctional and dirty. Truck driver here! Stopped many times throughout the year at this location. There is always something, like today I ordered the double western which is my favorite, the meat was fresh and it was put together neatly and tasted great, except!! The bacon was dry and old not fresh. The time before this the frys where stale. Before that my order was wrong but perfectly made and delicious. Before that the bathroom was bombarded before I had a chance. Over all I give it 4 out of 5 because most of the time it's good. Class A drivers also get a discount. However the dirt lot next to it is now blocked from the street and can't park there no more unless you can squeeze by the car parking lot to access it. After spending six hours on a road trip back from LA this appeared to be the place to stop for some chow and relaxation. Food was just like any other Carl's Jr. Prices are a tad inflated probably due to being out in the middle of nowhere. I recommend the drive thru or getting it to go. The longer you sit in the dining area the crazier it gets with either hyped up travelers heading north or depressed, hungover travelers heading south. read more

I have to say, this is a normal Carl's Junior; however. It's 11:00pm at night and we stopped with our two kids and the indoor dining was open and clean. It was really slow, but staff was busy cleaning. The food was fresh and warm. Typical Carl's junior. My stars are mostly because it was very clean, well decorated and staff was great to my kiddos. Our one year old needed to get out of the car. I wasn't terrified letting her walk around the restraunt. I got no dirty looks when she threw ice and fries on the freshly mopped floor. We did not get served or acknowledged inside and left. My pregnant wife was craving the food so we decided to use the drive thru in hope to get acknowledged.
