One nice staff member tried calling the museum for me. When that failed, she asked a few questions to her supervisor who never left her desk during the 5+ minute conversation. I used to work at a library and I'm so glad to see that people still use them. Free, ample parking in a private lot. I envy you. I have never experienced so professional, organized, patient, CLEAN and wonderful a library as Hobbs Library. EVERY single one of your librarians are friendly and kind. Each one goes out of their way to assist you. I have had help with printing, research, computing and general knowledge of New Mexico. I am so impressed!

The Hobbs Public Library is a gem…read more It saddens me that more people don't utilize the services here. My kids love going to their section downstairs. It's organized very nicely. There's a really nice patio to hold book club meetings, meet up with a friend, or, for example, have paperwork notarized. The staff is really nice. A staff member usually always asks me if I need assistance or at least greets me when I walk in. When they aren't available to help you or you just want to browse the computers, the online catalog is extremely user-friendly. The parking spaces are a bit too small for this truck / SUV town. So far there have been a few books that they don't have. I forget to request it in person. One is called "Lost in the Barrens" by Farley Mowat. At any rate, this is a great library if you have youngsters. They often hold events catered to babies all the way up to 3rd grade students. Also, there's a small playground area on the north end so you may let your kids depressurize after being quiet during your library visit. :) Please help keep the grounds clean by ensuring your trash goes all the way into a receptacle. You're the best, pass it on!

There were several books inside when I visited on 12.23.2024. Therefore, I saved most of my donations for the other 5 public little libraries that I was aware of... one of them was a brief walk away at nearby City Park. Thanks to the following organizations for this opportunity... Hobbs Schools, Skills USA, Murray Elementary, Friends of the Hobbs Public Library, and the Delta Kappa Gamma-Alpha Lambda International Society for Key Women Educators.

When I dropped off some children's books on 12.23.2024 I noticed there were only a handful of ratty children's books. No young adult or adult choices. If you don't know how little libraries work, you're supposed to bring a book to trade for one. It's a borrowing system. Hence, the inclusion of the word "library." Just because it's free doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of it. This little library was very well-kept on 12.23.2024…read more It's inside the downtown mini mall in Hobbs, New Mexico. Therefore, it is not accessible after hours. Somebody had taken the time to organize it and keep it tidy. This was one of the few little libraries that had adult books. Five stars due to the fact that it was so well maintained with the cutest white shelving unit.

These are community book libraries, which offer books for all ages either for free or to borrow. Sharing is caring! It's located at Heiser Park and is visible from the street. Heizer Park Little Library: 110 E. Stanolind Rd There were hardly any books and this little library when I came to drop some off on 12.23.2024. This was the hardest box to open and close. How are kids supposed to access this on their own if they wanted to? Please be gentle with the books so others can foster the love of reading. Do not let anyone selfishly or recklessly rummage through them.
