My dentist sent me here to consult Dr Malin about a possible root canal for a tooth overly sensitive to cold and hot. Dr Malin shot a CT scan, looked over the x-rays sent by my dentist (so I didn't have to pay for another set), and experimented with cold air and water. In the end, he said a root canal (then crown) would be overkill for the current situation, and instead suggested a simple way to decrease the sensitivity. Dr. Greiner is hands down the best Endodontist around. He is a very kind, compassionate person. I was unable to get in touch with my regular dentist, and fortunately for me Dr. Greiner answered the office phone on a Saturday afternoon & made himself available with barely any notice. He stayed late and helped get me out of severe pain fast. I was in dire need of a root canal and in more pain than I have ever experienced. I was nervous at first however he did many tests and x-rays to make sure that we had the correct tooth, as I had one already on its way out and unexpectedly it was the neighboring tooth causing all the pain (plus eye, facial inflammation). After a failed root canal procedure from another dentist, (he told me the canals had become calcified and couldn't be done) Craig MALIN was willing to spend the time to succesfully find the canals and complete the procedure. Instead of having to get the tooth pulled, as advised by the first dentist, Dr. Malin saved the tooth and by extension the bridge that was anchored to the tooth. He told me that he didn't blame the first guy for giving up, because after almost two hour, he was starting to have concerns he wouldn't be able to do it. The most quick and painless root canal I've ever had. Wish I could say this was my first one but my nose would grow if I did. At least this time it was more about eating popcorn then sugar. You can tell he does this all day long because he's quick. In my case he found the right nerve in just 2 little, not so bad shot rather than the 7 I had last time. I was referred to Dr. Malin for a root canal. You'd suppose giving a root canal a good review is a difficult thing to do, but Dr. Malin really did an outstanding job. I have bad teeth so I've actually had a few root canals before to use as comparison. Before getting started, he took x-rays and went through the pros and cons of all my different options. Dr. Malin then performed a fast, painless procedure. He has all the new, high-tech tools that really help, including an electric file, and he gives very effective anesthetic. I've been told I'm pretty hard to numb and Dr. Malin did an excellent job with articaine. I didn't feel a thing. He was also courteous, conscientious (made sure I was not in pain and gave me multiple opportunities to get comfortable and relieve the stress on my jaw) and clearly skilled at his craft. He was very knowledgeable and shared this knowledge throughout the procedure so I was aware of what he is doing. I have to have another root canal and will definitely be using Dr. Malin again. I really felt he actually cared about me as a patient and not just another pay day. It's obvious he takes pride in his work and does the best job he can. tl;dr - actually enjoyed my root canal lol. Dr. Malin and his team are awesome. I went to Dr. Malin after having a root canal done that was done by a generalist and not done right (only 3/4 canals done and a broken file left in one root). Dr. Malin took a CT of the tooth and gently and patiently worked on the tooth in 2 appointments to try and remove the file and clean out and disinfect the roots. There was no pain and Dr. Malin was very attentive, helpful and personable. I would highly recommend them and will definitely go here FIRST the next time I need a root canal. read more
