Used them to clean two leather jackets that were so dirty I wasn't sure they'd be able to do anything for them. Both jackets came back so wonderful that I was no longer embarrassed to wear them, even on the motorcycle. Also, there was an error on pickup and they charged me for cleaning something I had not requested. When I called, they were very apologetic and immediately made a refund. I have used Carlson Cleaners for over a year. Until 3 weeks ago they would have gotten a 5 Star. However Don has stepped away and allowed others to run it. They are running it into the ground. They Lie, They Misplace your things then LIE some more. Their service was canceled after they gave my things to the property manger and instructed them to get my things to me. Wash and Fold was pink toned from bleed off in washer. It has become the Mexican Connection down there and simply fallen off. When Don steps back in I may try again. Until then the same service can be had with better results form others in Sarasota. I had to run down my things to resolve it. Nice of Carlson to do that.. Run From Here For Now. Dropped off area rug, took 9 days. Pick it up and it's wet. Has been sitting in a garbage can outside the store and it rained. All curtains on a rack in the rain, unwrapped its soaked clear through. Offered me nothing, asked for a discount and got 10 percent off. So I have a clean soaking wet rug that will take days to dry. Never again. read more

Carlson Cleaners used to offer good pick-up and delivery service and I was willing to pay their very high prices for that service. Recently, though, I've had such poor service from Carlson Cleaners that I cannot recommend them. And with their very high prices it's just not worth it anymore. Recently, my dry cleaning was not delivered as promised and it took the owner, Donald, several days to locate it. He told me I'd have to wait from a Friday and over a weekend (rather than trying to locate the garments as quickly as possible) before he could follow up. And when the garments were finally located and delivered, I was overcharged. I'll happily take my business elsewhere and suggest that others do the same. read more

Dropped off two bags of laundry for fluff & fold... they charged $75!!! Not to mention they mixed the orders somehow.

I would NOT recommend taking curtains to Carlson Cleaners for pressing. Mine came back two inches shorter, with random hard creases throughout. The owner wouldn't do anything for me. Not only am I out $52, but I had to let the hem out of my new curtains!! read more

Dropped of a Silk blanket that all it needed was dry cleaning. I came to pick it up and it was ruined. It was no longer its soft material. It had a 1 inch tear that was not there before. After telling the cashier that this was not right a women came up and took fault for putting it in the wash, but continually kept stating that the tear was there and that she wouldn't lie. She also stated that she put it in the machine because it had stains on it(which it did not, that is not why I brought it there). Then another owner came out and asked me the same questions over and over again(obviously he did not hear me or believe me the first time when I told him it did not have a tear in it when I dropped it off and did not have stains). At the end I had to pay full price for my other items and left very unhappy. This was my first time at Carlson Cleaners and I am very disappointed. They told me to find out how much the blanket cost, so that they could do something for me. I hope it works out. All I wanted is for my Silk blanket to be dry cleaned. read more

I took 4 shirts in to Carlton Cleaners, 3 dry clean shirts and 1 cotton shirt to be laundered. The dry cleaning was fine but the bill was totally OVERPRICED!!!! $18.84. REALLY???? $5 for each dry clean shirt and $2.79 for the laundered shirt. With all the dry cleaners in Sarasota, why go to Carlton Cleaners and pay these steep prices. read more

The one item I dropped off for dry cleaning came back dirty. They told me that was the best they could do. Will never use again. I went home and "finished "cleaning the jacket myself with a little water, which worked fine. I also felt they were very overpriced. Will use a different company next time.
