My oldest daughter had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a blue belt in Hopkido. One of my biggest fears starting there was being told we needed to forget everything we already knew. Ramy took time with each lesson, and each attendee and wasn't just amazing in his practical approach to self defense, he worked with each person in the class and heard their stories of how they had been targeted, listening and providing matter of fact advice. What was crucial was at the same time as the practical self defense, the owner was incredibly emotionally present and able to somehow empower the folks who had previously been attacked or targeted, simply by being empathetic.
