From the planning, to the day of, he made it all a breeze and always made us feel confident that we were getting what WE wanted, as opposed to what he thought we should do. Affordable, friendly, and comforting. Everything you could ask for on your special day. The little details are what left the biggest impression. He played the perfect mix of songs that would appeal to ALL the ages present. Got the history on the guests (who should toast, who shouldn't). He even threw in some stuff because he thought it would elevate the day - like special lighting. All around, a lovely guy and great DJ. He truly cares about making your wedding special. We highly recommend him!

His personality, wit, and class are so in line with us, our friends, and family, that we knew we needed to make him a part of our wedding in some way. We hired him as MC about 9 months before our reception, and really had no idea what he would be doing. You see we were having an elegant formal event without the traditional wedding conventions: no bridal party, no bouquet toss, no cake cutting, no garter, etc. We spent these pre-wed months wondering how exactly to use Neville's skills and talents. So, a few weeks before, we had a phone call to discuss our plans. All we had come up with is that our guests were a lively gregarious group that love to dress up, dance, and party. Neville said, 'don't worry about a thing, I got it!' On the night, he exceeded our vision and hopes, and took our wedding to another level. He represented our vision of a sophisticated, elegant, and energetic event. He instantly meshed with our crowd, and brought the best out of friends and family, keeping the party going and the dance floor alive. He made our night spectacular! Act fast if you're thinking about hiring Neville, because this guy stays busy for good reason. A dapper symbol of class, his personality is gold, and to our surprise he's got dance moves. A genuine talent!

I want to be fair here, because this is really a story about two very different visits…read more The first time I came in, I worked with Barry, and he was fantastic. I had never bought a guitar in my life and barely knew what questions to ask. He sat down with me, pulled close to ten guitars off the wall, and played every single one so I could actually hear the differences for myself. He never once rushed me or made me feel like a clueless beginner taking up his time (great player btw!) By the time I walked out I had fallen for the shop and found the exact guitar I wanted, a Taylor 114ce. I was so excited that I could not wait to come back the next day to buy it. I had also planned to sign up for lessons there. The next day is why I'm writing this. Barry wasn't in, and the guy working the guitar repair counter helped me instead. He acted like I was a massive inconvenience from the second I walked up. The store was nearly empty at the time, just one woman trying out a guitar in the back and another customer making conversation up front, both of whom were perfectly friendly when I chatted with them for a minute. The guitar I wanted was a floor model with two deep scratches gouged into the front, the kind that do not buff out, plus a pickguard worn down from being played constantly. It was still priced like it was brand new. When I asked if anything could be done about the price, he went to check and came back offering fifty dollars off. I asked if he could come down to seven hundred and he flatly said no, though he said he could throw in strings. All of it came wrapped in the same cold attitude, like I was lucky he was even bothering with me. I decided to leave and went to another shop that had the exact same guitar, brand new and so pristine it clearly had never been played. I did not even think to ask for a discount because it was in perfect condition, but they gave me one anyway and knocked ten percent off without me saying a word. On top of that they set me up with a stand, a tuner, a capo, a handful of picks, strings, and even a hat, and discounted those accessories too. They were thrilled to help the entire time. I bought my first guitar there and booked my first lesson there too, and I walked out feeling exactly the way you should feel buying your first instrument. So if you go to McCabe's and you get Barry, you will understand why this place has the reputation it does. He was the reason I almost became a customer for life. There was also a gentleman there both days who I believe may have been the manager. The second day he gave me a quick hello and then stepped into the back right as I pulled the guitar down to start the process. I have no idea whether he picked up on how that interaction was going, but I really wish he had been out front for it, because a ready and excited first-time buyer walking out empty handed could have been saved. If this somehow gets back to Barry, thank you for helping me find my first guitar.

They were without question the best decision we made for our wedding and the most talked about part of the entire night. I've played music my whole life so my husband and I were really picky when choosing our band. After watching countless live performance videos there was no question, they were unmatched! No notes off pitch, every harmony in sync, concert level quality all night long. It was even better in person than I had envisioned. The vocals were so good, flexing between rock and roll, disco, pop, rap, and classic jazz and soul dinner music that made the reception feel luxurious and classy. What set them apart was their ability to read the room and keep the energy alive from start to finish. Ben as frontman and emcee was masterful, not a single lull all night. Once we got to dancing it felt like a concert! Every person young and old was on that dance floor all night long, including my 90-year-old grandpa! Guests were coming up to my husband and me all night asking where we found this band, including serious musicians who were completely blown away. The versatility was outstanding. We had a live guitarist for our ceremony, a jazz quartet including string bass for cocktail hour, the full nine-piece band for dinner and dancing, and then DJ Bruno for our after party. DJ Bruno was absolutely fire, too. He played all our must-plays, took requests, and kept everyone on the dance floor for round two -- it was so much fun. The Ben Mallare Band was worth every single penny and more. Book them, you will not regret it! My husband and I are already trying to figure out what our next event could be just so we can book them again!

From the very beginning, he was professional, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. Leading up to the wedding, he checked in with us several times to make sure everything was on track and helped us create a solid timeline to keep the event flowing smoothly and the energy high throughout the night. On the wedding day, he arrived on time, fully prepared, and executed everything flawlessly. One thing we really appreciated was his honesty and fair pricing. Unlike several other Iranian DJs we contacted, he didn't nickel-and-dime us because of our remote venue location. His pricing was reasonable, and the level of service he provided was exceptional. Beyond being a great DJ, he's simply a wonderful person--friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in making your event successful. His music selection was fantastic, blending both Persian and English songs seamlessly and keeping guests of all ages on the dance floor. If you're looking for a professional, experienced, reliable DJ who knows how to keep a party going, we highly recommend DJ Taraneh. We couldn't have been happier with our choice.
