    PROS: My wife and I got an easy online quote. Made an appointment and went to CARMAX in Davie, Florida. No one was particularly friendly. But it was comfortable and clean inside. Someone inspected the car. Etc, and we were given another offer that was $600 less than the previous one. But very fair. Since previous damage unknown to my wife and I showed up on the history report. We agreed to sell. CONS: After we agreed to sell, we waited for 20 or 30 minutes in the wrong area. Because no one specified what to do next, and the employee clearly thought I had ESP. Then, we waited another 30 minutes in the correct area. After that, we were handed what is essentially a POST DATED check. Issued on a Thursday night. But not "good" until NEXT WEDNESDAY..I thought probably Monday. But when I deposited it at my bank I was told, and i quote: "it will clear on Wednesday morning. CARMAX is horrible like that" So, it was an hour and forty-five minutes. I got a fair price. But the experience wasn't so swift. The topper was having to wait 6 DAYS to access my money when they have full possession of my vehicle. Not cool at all. And definitely no more than 3 stars.

    Their mistake of an offer

    Waste of time!!! Incompetent online service associates. Went to Carmax State Rd 84 to finalize deal after submitting all documents and Docusign documents completed. We followed every step asked for by this company. We were originally given a quote to buy out the lease on our current vehicle ( Carmax claimed) and as per the Carmax agent and supervisor " they apologize for the error" They clearly stated the company made an error. All in all we were not able to purchase the truck we wanted or trade the vehicle we planned on without putting our own down payment and paying a lot more for the truck we wanted. They basically thought it would be a good idea to have 2 vehicles. Ridiculous thoughts and unnecessary expenses. Carmax is the worst place for car sales/ trades. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! Don't put yourself at risk for mistakes by this company.

A buy here, pay here car retailer ain't a dealership, dealerships have to follow different laws. Terms changed almost daily from $1000 to $1500 to $2000 for down payment, lol ( "Bank" demands mo money, and still mo money," ), the finance company that she works for or with ain't no bank, they got in trouble for something shady and had to change their name. Banks have to follow different laws. - and - I went along with it. That's all on me. (the stories about losing money on so many car sales and customers stealing cars and requiring repo services. Car gets totaled. Insurance agrees to cover the loan. Loan company calling... car retailer bl*ws up my phone and text, 0700 (am), 8:00 pm, at work and seven messages at a time. I give contact info for my attorney. So. They flood my attorney's phone calling at 05:00... ( If they collect money from the customer AND from the insurance company it's called "Double Dipping," and then the insurance company calls their own lawyers). But that did not happen. - AND - I DID agree to "terms and conditions," (terms and conditions, have you heard of that before)? Shop there, don't shop there, who cares? It wasn't THAT bad. She was quick to get all the information back to me via email and followed up with a text, which I really appreciated. Shortly after, Jodi called to follow up, answer my questions, and go over available inventory. She was attentive, kind, and genuinely funny--I felt comfortable right away. I was very upfront that I don't enjoy going to dealerships and wanted the process to be as quick and straightforward as possible. I had my vehicle appraised ahead of time and sent Jodi the information via text. By the time I arrived, she already had the full breakdown ready for me. The process was smooth, efficient, and as quick as it could be. Frank in finance was also great to work with. He was friendly, transparent, and easygoing. He clearly explained the available options and made the process feel comfortable and stress-free. I've been with Mazda for the last six years and was considering making a change, but the CX-50 Turbo ended up being the perfect fit for me--and the car is an absolute dream. They tried to sell her a tire rotation, air filter replacement and some other items for about $250 and we declined. Not sure if this has anything to do with the punishing waste of time she is encountering 2 hours after she declined the extra service. When booking an appointment, I suggest you confirm that you will be serviced within a reasonable time as compared to your appointment time.

Before purchasing my vehicle, I specifically told the dealership that I already had a custom license plate and would not need a new one. I was assured that this would not be a problem and that they would take care of everything. About a month later, when my temporary tag was about to expire, I returned to the dealership to pick up my registration for my existing custom plate. Instead, they handed me a completely new license plate. When I reminded them that I had clearly stated I wanted to keep my custom plate, their response was simply that it was their mistake because they "didn't write it down." Their solution was to tell me to go to the DMV and fix the issue myself. This error created unnecessary inconvenience, wasted my time, and forced me to deal with a problem that should have been handled correctly by the dealership in the first place. Mistakes happen, but taking responsibility means doing more than just saying "sorry" and passing the burden onto the customer. Based on my experience, I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail and customer service after the sale.

Mechanic said it was just a crank shaft sensor that caused the jerking and lights in the dash and that were okay to drive off. Very dangerous. Don't trust this dealership.
