As a member of a group of over 10 people I was told I couldn't select what I wanted from the menu,…read morebut had to eat what the venue decided I wanted. They call it the "Chef's Menu". It cost $99. First was wagu croquette, basically a crumbed mushy puree, then salty and pepper squid, which was okay, then overcooked whiting dripping in grease, a mediocre salad of winter vegetables, some chips and overcooked roast potato portions. Also a small plate of sliced wagu to share. No desserts, no cheeses, no coffee, no choices. And there goes $99 Per person. Having said that the service was good. If it did not have the beachfront location you wouldn't bother.

While it is pretty casual inside the food is much more than you might expect from what looks like a shack on the beach. We enjoyed the fish of the day, grilled served with a few chips and salad. We also shared a tomato salad entree and some bread. Food was fresh, high quality and perfectly prepared. Portions were very reasonable - this is not a place where you need to order an appetizer instead of a main course to avoid over eating. Service was very warm and welcoming and you just can't beat the view. If you want to eat inside away from the heat, advance reservations are essential. Recommended.

I'm not a huge seafood fan really but have come kind of accustomed to it since meeting my partner,…read moreas he and the kids love it I have to accomodate it into things. Last Christmas we bought a new BBQ. Huge 4 burner with an extra burner for the wok attachment, rotisserie attachment and warming plate and full hood with temp on it. Great BBQ! And could do soooooo much more than our old one that pretty much just cooked your meat (and really slowly......). So since we had the functions we wanted to use them. We cooked everything in that BBQ over that summer. And this was where we came for our full sized fish to dress and cook in foil. It was a great sized fish, not too pricey compared to say buying a roast of a nice cut, considering it was a whole fish and fed everyone. It turned out so nice and was beautiful once we followed the serviceman's advice on how to dress and wrap it and times to cook for. He was very helpful (considering we had never cooked a full fish before). We have been back since and got a georgeous salman there that turned out perfect too. They are really busy at Xmas time and I would advise you order if you have specific needs but if you just want to drop by and grab some seafood they usually have a good range in stock to assist.

In my experience the display and quality of the produce is far better than the fresh seafood shops in the central market and elsewhere. The produce is hand picked from selected suppliers. But now, the staff are great, the menu is diverse and the atmosphere is great. The cafe contains several photographs and paintings from Italy and Europe. This artwork certainly adds a lot of character to the place, as does the comfortable seating near the back of the restaurant. The first time I went, the menu was virtually all seafood. Now there are many other dinner options including pizzas and pasta. I haven't tried these new options yet but they certainly look great. One item that has my attention for my next visit is the Quattro Formmagi (four cheese pizza). They also now have a range of vegetarian pasta options too. Before their new menu, I tried their fish and chips. The chips were decent and fairly crispy with a salad that seemed reasonably fresh too. The fish was decent in size and had a nice thin batter. One thing was that there was not quite enough tartare sauce. I went for breakfast after they introduced their new menu and had their pancakes. For $8, they were quite impressive. They were very fluffy and were served with cream and maple syrup. The edge of the pancake is nice and crispy. I also tried a hot chocolate as well (on a different occasion not to get a sugar overload). The hot chocolate is made with chocolate syrup which does give it quite a rich flavour.
