We also shared a tomato salad entree and some bread. Food was fresh, high quality and perfectly prepared. Portions were very reasonable - this is not a place where you need to order an appetizer instead of a main course to avoid over eating. Service was very warm and welcoming and you just can't beat the view. If you want to eat inside away from the heat, advance reservations are essential. Recommended.

It was a friend who wanted to come here and after he reminded me it was Rose from Masterchef who ran the cafe, I agreed to try it. While that's pretty awesome, something way cooler happened! Towards the end of our meal, Georgia Barnes (2015 runner up) and Jessie Spiby (2015) came into the cafe for coffee. Lucky us right? My only regret was not asking for a photo with the three of them. Onto the review. As usual I was pretty indecisive and tend to go for a burger option if I can't decide, so I ordered the lamb kofta burger while my friend went for the Lebanese Mezze Breakfast. The wait wasn't too lengthy and my burger was pretty tasty. It's a different type of burger than what I'd normally have, because this one was really fresh and quite light. There was plenty of hummus along with pickled cabbage, cucumber, tomato and a bed of rocket. It stands out visually with the colours. The kofta patty was not bad but I felt it was a bit on the thin side, because there was quite alot of turkish bread that formed the buns. And yeah, as a result the whole experience was quite bready for me but thanks to the hummus and the veges the burger wasn't dry. My friend also wanted to try one of their house made tarts as well so I just had a little bit. It was a passionfruit curd one and it was decent, not too sweet and refreshing due to the passionfruit. But at $4.50 for what's essentially a mini-tart it's getting on the pricey side. I would have gone for a baklava if I was craving a sweet pastry. The interior is very clean looking and inviting, on par with alot of the nicer cafes around the city. The prices are solid ($10.50) for the lamb burger and the breakfast ($15.50). The location is one reason I'd come back- no need to drive to the city just for brunch or lunch. There's a few other things I'd like to try as well if I come back. Overall, a good find and the timing of our visit was impeccable!

I'm afraid that a super-long wait for a fairly basic meal last Friday night has made me downgrade them slightly to 4 stars. I think what has happened is that they are super busy, but just don't have the staff to cope with the orders. The staff who are there are lovely - but they need at least one more in the kitchen, and another on the floor. Oh, and they obviously need a larger pizza oven! What worries me is that they have spent a lot of money on upgrading the verandah area, and have also renovated upstairs - how can they service these extra people??? PS - a very long wait for food with a grumpy 6 year old when the temperatures are soaring outside is not very fun :P

I've been there a few times and never disappointed with still ordering the same tasty meal 'Pollo Dello Chef' a gluten free meal of chargrilled chicken breast, topped with avocado, bacon and finished with a creamy sweet chili sauce. This meal is a large and super filling plate licking dish, with also getting my Mother to order is as well. They have chosen the right place to set up shop too. They are offering a modern styled cuisine in an area that is traditionally serving German and pub styled food. So for the locals, I am sure that it is a breath of fresh air. The restaurant is earthy styled with the use of a wooden cladding, furniture and decorated tree branches. The walls are painted in blackboard paint and cool chalk art is on display. They have a really creative menu; I was fortunate enough to try the prosciutto wrapped nectarine served with a salad full of yummy fetta, radish, mint and lettuce. It was a real treat, sweet and salty, and just the way I like it! If you are after a coffee and cake, this is also a really lovely destination. They served Kitchen 2C branded coffee and a beautiful selection of cakes and cookies. Yummy gluten free options too. The first time I went to dine was just before Christmas. Just wanted to also note that they were selling the most amazing home cooked Christmas puddings. What a great festive addition.
