Tour stop #5. After 4 other breweries, we were feeling pretty happy. I needed a soaker so I ordered a Western hot dog. This was just what I needed! Crispy bacon on a hot dog, Genius! The beer was good. They have a very good selection and variety of their own house brews. We toured the brewery in the basement as well and I was surprised to see that it was only a step above the home brewers. I believe it was a 3 barrel system. It made me think "if only I had a bigger garage..." It was very interesting to see and learn the history of the place as well. I walked out of there with a growler of their Agnus Red Ale. This place deserves more attention from me in the future. I'll be coming here to grab a bite to eat next time I'm up.

We stopped in here impulsively and fell in love with the place! This pub/Brewery is full of life, character, and community. We loved the beer too! Definitely check out their brews... brewed in the basement. I give a brewery extra points if they can lure me away from my standard choices with something that I wouldn't usually get. I ended up with a pint of the Juniper Saison (something I'd usually not order a full pour of) and loved it. It was thick, full, and seemed unfiltered. Great flavor.. unique but not weird. My husband got the Rocktoberfest. Also not his usual order. The bartender was friendly, amiable, and helpful. We loved our experience there. Throw a dollar and learn the Irish history behind it. ALSO... live Celtic music! This and Fitgers are gonna be our standard Duluth stops from now on. (also, free tacos after 9pm as long as you aren't an asshole)

Love my bartenders. Love my homies.

Bent Paddle Brewing Company is a family-owned and operated craft brewery and taproom in Duluth, Minnesota. The brewery opened in May 2013 and uses Lake Superior water to brew it's beers and hemp beverages. Bent Paddle's mission is to create a unique craft beer experience while also being sustainable for the business, employees, environment, and community. And they deliver on it all. I got a flight to enjoy some of their more limited offerings. Munchin Pretzels: An Oktoberfest beer brewed with traditional German Malts and Hops. I get toasted bread malt character with a bit of sweetness, but rounded out by a hop bitterness. The malt profile is definitely the forefront and I wished I had a pretzel to go with it. Infinity Stuf: An Oatmeal Stout that they went all out with 100 pounds of Oreos. Nutty oatiness, chocolate, and medium fullness. I appreciate it not being a Pastry Stout, but still get lots of Oreo character. A Beer of Their Own: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed in collaboration with a Bar Of Their Own in the Twin Cities. Tropical fruit forward - primarily melon and cantaloupe, with a nice finish. Stratarado: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed with Strata and El Dorado (get the name?). Tropical fruit, pineapple, some sweetness on the tongue. Liked this one a lot. ______

The beer selection was a little smaller than we expected, but there was still a nice variety of styles, so everyone in our group found something they enjoyed. They also have a full bar with specialty cocktails. The food menu was surprisingly large with lots of unique and fun options to try. The only small downside was that the Brussels sprouts were still a little undercooked for our taste, but everything else was excellent and more than made up for it. Excellent brisket, fish n chips, and build your own burger! The garlic aioli and IPA mustard sauces were definitely memorable. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, craft beer, and a fun atmosphere located right on the pier. We'd definitely come back!

We got on the waiting list and were told it'd be about a 30 minute wait. By golly, we know from the time stamps on the texts that it was 32 minutes total. We were seated outside, and service was fast and smooth from that point. We had the pretzel sticks appetizer, which was fantastic. Very soft, hot pretzels, and the queso was thick and loaded with flavor. My husband had the Canal Park red lager and really enjoyed it. My main dish was the birria tacos, which were quite good but could have used more cheese. Salsa and chips were fine, too. My husband had jalapeño popper burger with fries, and really liked it. Checkout was fast and pleasant.

Delicious poutine, with oozy gooey squeaky cheese curds. I had the smoked fish salad; it had the right amounts of everything and felt like a distinctly Duluth dish. My husband had the fish and chips. I had a bite of his fish, and it was perfect, with great batter and flavor. I would happily come here again on a visit. I can see why this is a city institution.

The same for the onion rings, they were crispy and not too greasy. We also got the inhouse made root beer. That was quite good as well.
