I was a regular customer here since the shop opened. I really appreciated their willingness to accommodate appointment requests and the friendliness of the staff. Sadly, I cannot go back there. After ending up with a fungal infection following a pedicure I decided never again for a pedicure but kept having my nails done. I ended up with another fungal infection because during the two previous fills an air bubble under a nail was just ignored - it cost me $200 for three months of medication to treat it. I spoke to Kim about it, she reassured me that she would make sure it never happened again. Well, my last appointment at the shop I had air pockets under two nails. I asked about getting the air bubbles fixed and was told that since they didn't extend to the edge of the nail she didn't have to fix them. When I commented that the air bubble that had caused the previous fungal infection did not extend to the edge of the nail either, Kim just ignored me. Did not acknowledge my comment and the bubbles did not get fixed. Even when I asked and Kim knew what had happened previously, my concerns were ignored and I was sent out with these 2 large air bubbles (and potential source for yet another infection) under my nails. I know Kim was in a hurry to leave so she could take her daughter to a movie but not even having my concerns acknowledged and the willingness to risk my health was the last straw. Kim has been doing my gel nails and fills for a year now. Before this I tried multiple salons in the area. I was either over charged, given cheap product (acrylic instead of gel) or left with an ugly set I shouldn't have paid for. Getting to know Kim and seeing her work has been such a relief. I never even think about going to another salon now. I have also had my eyebrows waxed and pedicure done much to my satisfaction. Lately, i find myself looking forward to getting my nails filled because of Kim's excellent company and the work she does. No matter what I request she always does a lovely job and I never leave unhappy, I would recommend Carnation to any of my friends or family. read more

I have been going to Kim for the past 6 months and after going to many places all around the city she is the FIRST person who has ever taken such great care of me and my nails! She has taught me all about great nail care and every time I see her which is about every two weeks she spend 1.5hours with me and gives all her attention and details to my nails. Many visit she spends time trying different colours until I am happy with what I want. I honestly will never go anywhere else in the city because I know Kim cares about her clients and takes pride to make them all happy. This shows me she loves what she does!!! I have been coming here about a year now. I have been to a lot of salons throughout the city but always found them hit and miss. This salon is amazing! The quality, customer service and incredible staff have made this salon my regular go to spot. Kim stands behind her product and workmanship and never makes anything feel like its a customers fault. I have been doing regular shellac manicures and pedicures and my nails look just as healthy underneath as they did when I started thanks to proper, professional technique and nail care and quality product. I love this place. Seriously. I have tried a lot of different places in Calgary, and I'm happy to be able to come back to the same place for an amazing pedicure every time. This place is clean and they do a really thorough job. If the place isn't super packed, and if you have the time, they go over the top with their spa service with hot rock massage. If you let them know you are on a tight schedule, they can get you in/out quickly. When I get my pedicure here, it lasts WAY longer than other places, and my feet look amazing! I went to this salon only once and I will never go anywhere else! Kim stayed open late for myself on a Sunday (which is impossible to find an open salon on a Sunday), and did an amazing job. She explained the products used, why and what the product did for my nails (ex calcium). I tried gel (which is Organic Bio Seaweed) instead of acrylic and I am beyond happy with the decision. I LOVE going to Carnation! I've had pedicures, manicures, gel nails, waxing and eyelash extentions done there. I have never had any complaints about their work, and Kim and her staff are very friendly and professional. I have been enjoying Mani/ Pedi treatments at Carnation since they opened last year in Acadia. Kim gives by far the best Pedi going, she is thorough and takes her time. No rush jobs here !!! Went in to get fresh shellac polish done, was greeted and seated as soon as I arrived, and offered nice cold water from their fridge! The staff were all very friendly and chatty and did not rush the service. Environment was very clean and organized. Will most definitely be going back to the salon. read more
