Food was good. It's your typical no fuss, Mexican market/restaurant. Everyone spoke Spanish and very little English. Everyone I was with thankfully speaks fluent Spanish so they did the ordering. When I tried to order in English I just got a blank stare and didn't get the drink I asked for (iced tea) but a water bottle. So I just got up and went to the drink aisle in the market where they grab ur drinks and picked out a Topo Chico to swap out for the pur life water bottle she brought. The pastor taco and asada burrito were good. My friend got the chicken burrito and said it was basically all lettuce and just had a little chicken. My asada burrito had good flavor but also could have had more asada inside. The $2.50 tacos seemed to have more meat than the burritos which was the only bummer. We, as a family, love this place and eat here regularly (weekly at the least). Their tacos aren't cheap, but they're not expensive and they give you a good value. My daughter and I love the tacos al pastor. Their tacos de Cameron are also excellent. The salsa bar has some amazing choices as well. Drinks come in two forms - on tap in the form of Tamarindo, Horchata, Agua de Mango, and Jamaica/Hibiscus or in bottles from the fridge. The cervesa selection is good and their prices are very reasonable (some places charge you as much for a single as you'd pay for a six pack). I don't think I've ever had anything bad from this place. Their tortas (sandwiches) are some of my favourites and every once in a while they'll have flautas (enough time feed two). I am from San Diego, and we shop at a Mexican owned grocery store for our taco ingredients. Imagine my excitement when we found this gem two miles from my parents house! They had everything we needed from fresh produce, real corn tortillas, queso fresco to Jarritos and Mexican candy! They also sell prepared food which we will try next time. Great store! Carne Asada was a bit tough and bland. The carnitas was good, it had skin in it . Chorizo was aight. There's a green salsa that was very flavorful but needed some salt. It's not the salsa verde one, it was sorta kinda lumpy so not sure if it had avocado in there but it had good heat! The red one with roasted Chile was good too! Would totally come back, though. I've been here a couple of times now. This place is a great, hidden gem. You might not know that there's a taqueria in the back when you first look at the shop. It seems like just a carnicera and little grocery shop, but when you go in, there's the grill space at the back. The food there is excellent. It's all very fresh and the taste is amazing. There's a wide variety of choices for the type of meat you want in your taco/burrito. My favorites are el pastor and lingua. There's also several types of fresh salsa you can add. Plus, the price is very reasonable. The tacos are like little slices of heaven and the burritos are definitely filled to capacity. Since it's a little grocery store as well, there's a huge variety of drinks to pick from, too, with lots of flavors of Jarritos, if that's your thing (it's my thing). Ordered takeout/delivery from here recently while traveling. Delivery time was exceptional! Arrived earlier than expected. Food was okay. Ordered Molcajete and upon opening the box; I see a huge spring onion that looked as if it was plucked out of the garden and thrown on top of the food and long chunks of what ended up being slices of cheese that were thrown in on top and never melted. Same with the beans and rice (large slices/chunks of cheese that were unmelted). I mean okay it's delivery when it's a dish served naturally in a molcajete at the restaurant so I get that it wouldn't be perfect, but the overall presentation was a little bit of a put off. The food was tasty, fresh and plentiful; and the homemade tortillas were the icing on the cake!
