El Jalapeno doesn't have a "regular" breakfast menu during the week (I heard an employee say they only have breakfast on the weekends), but I'll eat anything at breakfast time. I ordered a steak burrito which was about $12. There were a couple of picnic tables near the truck so I sat and waited for my food. I should have asked for it to go, as it came out on a paper plate, but I decided it would be best to eat at least part of it when it was hot and fresh anyway. The burrito was massive! I definitely could have split it with Nate, who went into the market to get a different breakfast option. I took half home for later. The steak was flavorful and seasoned well and the burrito was stuffed with lots of fillings; rice, lettuce, refried beans, tomato, sour cream, and a side of salsa. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious - I particularly liked the refried beans in the burrito, which was surprising for me, because usually I could go without. The employees were all super friendly and polite and the smells wafting out of the truck were mouth-watering! I would love to try more of their food in the future and look forward to visiting them again soon.

Upon getting a booth they quickly took our order, brought us our drinks and shortly after our food. They do not offer complimentary chips and salsa like most of the restaurants in the area. The price is also a lot higher than those that do charge for it. With your taco order you get a plate of limes, pickled onions, grilled onions and grilled peppers. I ordered asada tacos and they were full of meat with cilantro and onion. They also offer dinner plates with rice and beans. The rice and beans are nothing special and could have gone without ordering them. The hot sauce options they bring out are great. We love the green but the red is just as good. They have a nice kick! We will definitely be back!

Then today I called and explained what happened and that I was willing to give them a second chance and the lady told me it would be ready in 10 minutes without apologizing to me. Then I get there 20 minutes later and my they didnt even have a receipt for my order and hadnt started on it. Still charged me full price and refused to apologize and when I pointed that out the staff literally pretended like I wasnt there or speaking and then a few minutes later they handed me my food and I once again pointed out no one apologized but you guessed it was ignored again. Im very vocal about supporting local businesses in social media and believe me all of west michigan will be hearing about all this disrespect. Wonder if theyd pass a health inspection? Los Pinches GR make the Mexican staples- tacos ($2.99), tortas ($10), quesadillas ($6/$9), and burritos ($10). They also have desserts ($4.50), like conchas rellenas, and carota (Mexican lemon pie). For drinks, they have water, coke, Jarritos, and Mexican coke. I got the pastor and suadero tacos. The portions were smaller than I expected, so I would recommend getting three tacos if you want to come out feeling satiated. I really loved the suadero (brisket confit) tacos - I would recommend trying that one. The brisket was tender and juicy - I did wish they added more of it to my taco! The pastor taco was pretty good. Something that did surprise me was how juicy the limes were. I always ask for limes with my tacos at Mexican restaurants, but they usually turn out to be dry, which leaves me barely any juice to squeeze out. However, the limes Los Pinches GR gave me were really juicy! The little things that bring me joy.... If you're getting groceries at Bridge Street Market, or simply around the area, I would walk across Bridge Street and try some of their food!

Countless dollars have been spent, shirts have been spilled on, and symptoms of spicy food have ensued, if you know what I mean. And yet, despite all of this, my taco perfecto had eluded me. I had all but given up until I moved to the West Side of GR and stumbled upon what could quite possibly be considered the Holy Grail of Grand Rapids Mexican food: a small, unassuming red shack on the corner of Bridge St. I'll just get down to the brass tacks. Any taco buff knows that a taco joint can be judged on one thing and one thing only: their Al Pastor. And by god, Cuñado delivers. On top of that, the Chorizo is cherishable. The steak is stellar. The chicken is, well, chicken, but it's damn good. And the salsa is just shy of perfect: it's fragrant, fresh and feisty, and pairs perfectly with any and every menu item (except the horchata, for obvious reasons). The sautéed onions provide sweet, crunchy and umami layers, and for the bold, a sauteéd Jalapeño to top it all off. All of this is housed between a generously griddled double tortilla, which bears the burden of it's toppings like an absolute champ. The value of this place is truly off the charts. I went (begrudgingly) to Donkey Taqueria the other day and paid $12 for two flimsy fake tacos. TWELVE DOLLARS for two raw tortillas with a smidge of crock pot meat in between. Meanwhile, I pay $8 for three hefty, hearty boys made with cariño down on Bridge Street, and they knock my socks off every time. The folks running this place are absolute gems as well. When you walk in, it kind of feels like you're at your abuela's house and she's pulling out all the stocks to absolutely stuff you to the brim. Although they probably see a thousand people a day, the Cuñado Bridge crew never hesitates to make my day that much better. In my opinion, Tacos El Cuñado Bridge St. humbly boasts the best tacos in town. And if you don't believe me, it'll only cost you $8 (on Tuesdays) to see for yourself.

I loved the queso as it was smooth and creamy, and the guac was chunky which most people at our table enjoyed. Some of the chips seemed a tad stale, but I was holding out for my main event: the quesadilla. It's a large size, and comes with tomato and shredded lettuce inside. The lettuce makes it a bit tough to eat, but it was so delicious. I had plenty of leftovers, too. The steak was flavorful and tender. I added some of the hot sauce which gave it the perfect kick of heat. I tried some of Nate's barbacoa taco, which was just as I remembered, super flavorful and tender.
