The most amazing staff! They were actually closed for a private event, but they saw my 5 year old crying outside. And they opened the doors and gave him a personalized ride! Real fun. My family and I stopped here last summer. We enjoy exploring different cities and doing different things I have two kids so of course I doing a bunch of kids activities and different things. So we definitely had to hit up this carousel. It's a cool location we got splash pads outside they got shopping centers and I got a big giant park right across the street in Cincinnati. Really pretty part of town really pretty area in the carousel wasn't too much money jumped on there with the girls did a few laps and hit the road good spot for sure to check out and we will be back next time we're in the Cincinnati read more

Man, I'm caught up between a 3 and a 4 star rating because this Carousel just screams Cincinnati but I have a few bones to pick. One is the hours. In my opinion, it's limited and so odd to close so early! 7pm is the latest it's open, which to me is silly. Hundreds and hundreds of adults/kids are out and about in the Smale area (spring/summer/fall) after 7. I really think they're missing a huge chunk of profit by being so limited. Two is the cost. $2 per token (one ride). I admit the ride is longer than most carousels but that's a little costly. However, when literally no one rides the carousel because hours/price, what do you expect but a higher price. I just wish they market it better. What about a year pass? You'd actually make more money out of me if you sold a $20 year pass compared to me only going once a year for $4. I love this general area of Cincinnati and the carousel, despite having no music, is absolutely beautiful and each piece is a work of art. The animals are gorgeous and represent their own charity/foundation/Cincy staple. I'd love to see this carousel remain for years to come, with a few tweaks! Come on Cincy, let's flood them with attention and rides so maybe they can expand their horizons! read more

We stopped by Carol Ann's Carousel so the kids could use the bathroom. I am not even sure if there are bathrooms in the place, but on a hot day, they did have the air conditioning cranked up. I stood by the floor vent which was spewing wonderfully cold air while my wife got the kids onto the carousel for a ride. It was a nice break from the heat outside since there aren't many trees to provide shade in the section of Cincinnati. There were quite a few kids riding the carousel, so I guess this is actually an attraction. I don't even know how much it cost. Outside, there is a fountain which children were playing in. They were wearing water sneakers and bathing suits. Apparently, people actually plan to let their kids run through the splash pad. This is similar to the new fountain in downtown Cleveland. The kids love it. read more

This was a nice place to take the kids before the Reds game! It was a very hot day and they have air conditioning in the building, makes it a nice place to relax for a bit. They have a neat little gift shop here as well, the staff were all friendly. The price to ride was not expensive at all. The carousel had many of animals to choose from for the kids, I even saw a bat which was very cool! If you are ever in Cincinnati and looking for time to kill before a game or just to enjoy a day out, I recommend checking this carousel out. read more

Unique venue for indoor or outdoor events! I recently attended a fundraiser gala at Carol Ann's Carousel and was pleasantly surprised by the how well the event came together. Half of the event was indoors and half was outside, which was nice because it did rain a bit in the early evening. The outside portion has beautiful view of both Downtown Cincinnati and across the river into Kentucky. The carousel itself was running all night and everyone was enjoying the rides. The whole space makes for great pictures and would be ideal for any type of event. The food was great and the bar service was awesome, but I believe outside caterers are used for that. Regardless, I'd recommend this space for anyone looking to accommodate a large group of people in the Cincinnati area! read more

Just visited Carol Ann's carousel on Saturday around 2 p.m. It was not very busy at all and we were able to ride a couple of times. The carousel is perfect for all ages. If you do not want to ride on one of the animals there is a bench or a blue convertible you can sit on. It cost $2 a person but if you have six or more I believe you get a discount. A definite must visit and one of our favorite parts of downtown Cincinnati. read more

Our company had our Christmas party here. It was fantastic. The view looks over the Ohio River near the Roebling Bridge. Coworkers had fun riding the carousel. Brought out the kid in them. The food served was delicious - the beef short rib was super yummy. Highly recommend this venue. read more

This carousel is beautiful. I have never seen a carousel with such a diverse choice of things to ride on. Animals, bugs, and various vehicles are all there for your riding pleasure. Several of the animals are adorned with scenes or clothing that pay homage to Cincinnat's rich cultural heritage. A real treat for any kids, or anyone who is a kid at heart. read more

Omg, it's AWESOME! Such a cool ride for just 2 dollars. At first I was skeptical about this whole idea of putting old school carousel in a middle of modern and sleek urban riverfront park. But I actually love how they encapsulated it in a glass cube and it turned out really cool and well incorporated in the architecture of The Banks. The Carousel itself is beautiful. Hours and hours of hand crafting each individual animal and seat pays off, the quality is outstanding. The nostalgic music and panoramas of Cincy back in a day can transport you back to your childhood times. My Husband took me on a day-date there and believe it or not, we were not the only adult couple enjoying the ride! We started safe: the corvette. Fun but does not go up and down. So next there was a cardinal, gorilla, horse and the praying mantis (!!!!!). Cool stuff! Try it! It's closed at night, but you can rent it as a wedding / party venue. Below the carousel there's event space beautifully lit. Great addition to the park! read more

The carousel is very nice and very clean. Tokens should probably be $1 instead of $2 Honestly I had my opinion soured when I was told I could not use my DSLR camera I brought. They whole intention of visiting was so I could take photos of our new granddaughter on the carousel. I had to use my cell phone. I've always understood the rule about no tripods or no pictures at all. I don't understand the no dslr rule. read more

Simply put, Carol Ann's Carousel is a work of art. The whimsical animals from a praying mantis to Cincinnati's iconic flying pig are beautiful. Even if you don't actually ride the carousel, this museum piece is a sight to behold. It's set in a glassed in climate controlled building with a 360 degree view of everything around it--Smale Park, the Ohio River, the city skyline, etc. This is truly a centerpiece in this riverside park and a highlight of any visit to downtown. Today a group of us went to Carol Ann's Carousel and had a wonderful time. This is the second time I was there but this was very special because Joyce Kamen talked about all of the animals and how they were painted and the connection to Cincinnati. She was exceptional. I mentioned to her that at some point they should not have the Praying Mantis because there is no real connection to Cincinnati and replace it with Fiona - the baby all of Cincinnati adores. Beautiful and unique. Love that the entire carousel showcases all of our treasures. There are nice bathrooms inside, a little gift stand, and it's just $2 a ride if you are an adult or child over a certain height. Love the glass walls and view of the river and Roebling Bridge. read more

One of my favorite features were the riverfront swings, big, bench-style swings tucked along the water that are perfect for kicking back and enjoying the view. They're surprisingly comfortable and such a great spot to unwind and reconnect with your inner child. The park has amazing views of the Roebling Suspension Bridge and Ohio River are worth the visit on their own, the paths are wide and great for families, and there's lots to explore without feeling overcrowded. There are splash zones for kids, places to sit and picnic, and tons of photo ops.

But only 3/4 of the playground is old-school playground equipment. The other 1/4 is updated plastic. However, for some reason, my children spent very little time in the updated playground area, and opted for the metal area. Very interesting. This park has lots going for it. It has an enormous sheltered picnic area that seems like it would be good for group events. It has a colorful basketball court with four hoops. There's also a baseball field, disc golf / frisbee golf (frolf) course, a gaga ball court, a walking path, a man-made lake, and a little fairy house by the playground parking lot.
