My wife and I usually go here once every 2 years as we try to rotate between Carowinds and King's Dominion and Cedar Point and King's Island. My experience of this park keeps on getting better and we ended up this time going on the busiest days like Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I went one day on a Thursday, but that is when we landed. We usually tend to get here an hour and 15 minutes early as they open the gates right at 9:00am. I recommend going to the not self serve parking as for some reason my phone did not scan to open the gate and it is easier for the person to scan the phone. If you are having trouble someone will come and scan for you. For Gold and Prestige members we got to into the park 30 minutes early and they opened up Diamondback, the updated Phantom Theatre and Great Pumpkin Coaster. If you have a regular ticket, you can explore the shops or wait at your favorite ride. I like the Peanuts characters are in one showplace too so you can go visit them. Here are the places I ate at as I have the meal pass: 1. Sports Bar - sit down place, food takes awhile to get, but you are relaxing at a table, while they come and give you your food. This place gets crowded 2. Mexican Place - not too bad, guacamole is extra however 3. Paris French - had the shrimp sandwich, but the chips were salty, bread has on the hard side 4. BBQ - I did not try it, but the meat looked really dry 5. Tom Chee - this place is good, but only if you like greasy sandwiches. Very filling for sure I recommend getting the blue ice cream and the red soda only available on selection locations. I tend to have at least one cup and ice cream per visit I did not buy too much merchandise this time around, but I like the Snoopy Store to visit. Shows For some reason, they do not do any Peanuts shows anymore. We watched Brad Ross, illusionist and he was fun to watch and a 50 minute show. We watched his show 4 times, but sometimes it was a way to escape the heat and take a nap and figure out how he did some of the tricks. Seating is comfortable. They do have live entertainment like dancers or singers in some areas. They do have the wine festival, but we did not buy a card since we have a meal plan. Rides (I rode the following) and here are my thoughts this time around as they might be different since the last review 1. Banshee - gotton rougher over the years and the vest restraints got tighter on me 2. Drop Zone - this ride worked on the last 2 days, show operations, but recommend to ride once 3. Congo Falls - sometimes this operates on certain days, but fun to get soaked 4. Bat - an okay ride, only ride it if the line is short 5. White Water Canyon - you will get soaked by the geyers, this ride opens from 12 to 9pm 6. Charlie Brown Rushing River - Fun log ride, line moves slow, I wish they would open both lanes. 7. Snoopy Soap Box Racers - fun kids ride 8. Woodstock Twirly Birds Ride - I always have fun being in the helicopter, ride is too short though 9. Mystic Timbers - fun wooden ride, lines are not long on this one 10. Diamondback - this line tends to get long for some reason and can be longer than Orion 11. the Beast - we like doing a day time ride which line is very short and night time ride line gets long. They do shut the ride down at 9:30pm for the fireworks show and reopen at 10:20pm. My wife and I sometimes do not get out of the park until 11:30pm. Night ride is definitely worth it. The ride has definitely gotton smoother 12. Orion - definitely one of my favorite rides - I wish they had more shade on the line queue, but lines do move quickly 13. Red Racer/Blue Racer - I prefer the red racer more smoother compared to the blue 14. Windseeker - slow operations on this one, but the line is not long, but a great view of the park 15. Adventure Express - pretty neat ride for visual, but rough riding it 16. Woodstock Air Flyers - this ride tends to get longer, but I find it a little on a shaky side 17. Antique Cars - we like going on this ride. Line might look long, but it ends up being around 20 minutes Rides I did not go on this trip but wanted to Flight of Fear - some reason this line got the longest and I do not know why, but definitely not worth waiting for 40 minutes. I think I rode this ride a bunch when it was raining and all of the other rides were closed. Overall a great time and have a fun time at this park. read more

Genuinely the WORST time I have ever had in a theme park in my life!! Me and my mom went out to visit after multiple other visits as recent as July because of our previously good experience.. But the en-crappification of the service was absolutely abysmal in that short of time. The service was horrendous, the lines were horrendous, and the way every system here is set up is designed for you to fail, while they squeeze every cent out of you while doing it. We started out bad, due to the fact it wasn't even half a day, it was 5 hours, which why?? It's August, and 85 degrees outside! What do you mean it's not summer? They charge full price for 5 hours. The total paid was $200 for 2 people. DO NOT GO ON WEEKDAYS PAST JULY, THEY ARE ALL LIKE THIS! The moment we got there, we were very early in the line as we got there hours early. How are we repaid for our wait? They claimed the tickets we ordered online were invalid. I refreshed the tickets, and the staff member at the gate refused to try to re-scan it, and told us to go to the tickets support kiosk. We had to surrender our spot in line, and then we had to wait in line in tickets support. And what did they tell us? That it was fine and it was just an error. We had to go to the BACK OF THE LINE for this. It took us nearly 30 minutes to get in.. And reminder, we had 5 hours. So after our very limited time was absolutely wasted over incompetence, we finally got in, and went to get something to eat. The portions are absolutely horrendous for the price you pay. You're better off getting McDonald's before you go. The "Meal plan" isn't even worth it due to how little you get and the time you have between your orders. Mind you, it's $40-ish to get. The whole thing about minors having to be accompanied by an adult at all time is a complete joke, the entire time we were getting steam-rolled by random children at all times. One even almost knocked me to the ground they hit me at such force. And their parents were nowhere in sight. I seen children get on rides for adults by themselves with no adult in sight, I even seen children casually walking around alone with no parent to be found. Clearly they do not enforce this, and that's dangerous. You think you got a solid spot in line? Nope, too bad! The amount of people cutting in line will have your blood boiling, and they aren't punished for it at all. Children and adults alike just help themselves to the front like it's nothing. Not only that but my mom got harassed by a random man in the line, so that's great too I guess, just what we always wanted! Was nothing done about him? Nope! Of course not silly! The routes you take to get to anything are the absolute worst ways of travel I've seen in my existence. It's like you have to walk all the way to Dagestan to get to a Viking ship. Not to mention that if you want a specific restaurant, get ready to do a 5 mile hike to it. Don't even try it in the dark, you're not going to have a fun time. In the 5 hours we had, we only got to ride 4 things. And this was us spending our entire time getting to rides, except for the beginning. We wanted to finish off our day by riding The Beast. The line was 80 minutes long. And that's not even counting the amount of people cutting the line in front of us. And, they cut off and shut it down right as soon as we were about to be let in. We waited forever in the crowd of screaming adults for nothing. At the end of the day, I was left defeated, drained, exhausted, stressed beyond belief, mentally overwhelmed, and upset. A theme park isn't a place you're supposed to feel like you got yelled at by your boss, you're supposed to make great memories, but this is an experience I will never reflect on positively and will remember for the rest of my life as the place that damaged my very soul. read more

Despite growing up in Ohio and living in Cincinnati for several years, I hadn't visited Kings Island until today. Overall, it was fine. The Queen City Express Coaster was the right amount of thrill for me, and my kids thought just about everything was great. Admission was pretty reasonable, and with the wristbands, so is food -- we got two of them to feed our family of five, essentially snacking every 90 min. Highly recommend that strategy. That said, parts of Kings Island are a bit run down, including the parking lot and some of the rides, like the Woodstock Express. Also, the loading process for several rides seemed to be a bit slow and inefficient. Not sure why. In sum, I liked the visit. But didn't love it. read more

Not a great experience. In town & had a few hours so we used our Cedar Point pass to cruise the park for the cold night of May 1. Totally nuts here. Parking was almost full at 5. The lines were double the app estimates! The eateries were hilariously unprepared w/ lines out the door. Half the employees the need working only half the counter open at the BBQ place being used. 20 mins to get food. Then you go over to check out & there's 4 registers open but only 1 at a time is ever occupied since only 1 order comes out every 30 secs. So 3 workers are staring at phones! So poorly organized. Our Mac & cheese was so cold we couldn't eat it so had to go back & request another which had a 5 mins wait for another batch. Ice was piled up on every drink dispenser to laughable levels & again there's still 3 check out girls "picking their nose" just 3' away. We left early b/c it was pretty awful. read more

I LOVE VISITING KINGS ISLAND!! This was another great visit to Kings Island with the family. This place just keeps delivering. The kids area is extensive and incredibly well done, with rides and attractions that work for a wide range of ages. It's clear they've thought about the adults too: plenty of shade and comfortable spots to wait while the kids burn off all that energy, which makes a huge difference on a long day (or a short day, you know!) One of my favorite traditions is lunch in the Festhaus. Being able to cool off, catch a show, and enjoy LaRosa's pizza is always a win. The pizza itself is great (as always), though I'll admit the pizza/breadstick combo is a little odd. The breadsticks are pretty doughy and don't have much flavor. Not terrible, just not the highlight. The true star, though, is the blue ice cream in the kids area. It's pure nostalgia, genuinely delicious, and the long line proves I'm not alone in thinking that. Even better, the line moves fast, so it's never a dealbreaker. Pizza and blue ice cream are a must for me every single visit--no exceptions. Kings Island continues to be a place we look forward to coming back to. Amazing place to go to have fun and get out of the house. The food is a bit expensive but you can always bring your own in. The blue ice cream is definitely the best thing there and is a great way to cool down in the heat. If you go reasonably early and get there by 11 ish on a weekday, you can pretty much walk onto every single ride. There's lots of things to see and do like shows, magicians, caricatures, etc. I would definitely recommend going on a weekday if possible, but if not, you could get a fast pass on the weekend and it wouldn't be too bad. read more

I took several of the teens from church here although they were unworthy. The name says it all Kings Island because you have to be a king to afford to pay for the parking. I did purchase the food pass for $50. This pass enabled me to get a drink every 15 minutes. All day long. It also enabled me to get a meal or any other food item every 90 minutes. I started off with a double cheese burger then I had Pizza, a cinnamon pretzel and ended the day with a huge hot dog. I was not disappointed and felt this was a great value. I purchased my first season pass this year. I will never do that again. Was holding off today to purchase. Busiest weekend of the year and every hydration station was closed. Had to wait in the same line as food which were supper long just to get a refill. Paid 20 bucks for the drink plan every 15 minutes you can get a drink. Wait times for a drink was longer than some of the rides. That was impossible today. The employees are rude. They don't care about anything and most act like they hate their jobs. What happened to the kings island I use to visit as a kid. Between that and fast passes it just seems like a money grab. Plus if you like ice in your drink good luck with that. read more

The chicken at the chicken shack is absolutely phenomenal! Best part of the park hands down. I think it deserves its own merch selection, since it's an extremely popular pick for many around the parks, possibly the most popular. It's been another 10 years since I left my review and the last time I went is when they first released The Banshee roller coaster. Now I'm back with my Mr. Wow! Did they add so much since then. They now added Orion and Mystic Timbers roller coasters, they revamped the kids area and now it's Peanuts/Snoopy. I thought the Woodstock Air Rail was pretty cool. There's more restaurants and quick food vendors. I especially found the German restaurant interesting. And they are still expanding! They may have changed the names of the rides but they are still the same but remodeled. We stayed for the Halloween Haunt. This is a must go because they go all out! Decor is on point, characters are walking around scaring people, the fog gives a great illusion, and the roller coasters are better to ride at night. And open until midnight?! Yesssss!!! They also added another new attraction-The Conjuring. Parking went up to $35.00 and they now have a "fast" line but it's an extra upgrade. Season passes are still sold. You are able to bring your own canisters and water. I know theme parks can be expensive for food and drinks but I can see why. They keep this place nice! My favorite are the classic roller rides. Adventure express, The racer and Flight of fear! Followed by the new ride Mystic Timbers. I can't wait to come back in December for Winterfest. I'll always be a Kings Island fan. It's so much fun. Well to start we gave Kings Island a 2nd try Labor Day since we got rained out on 8/12 they closed the park early so we in a sense got rain checks to return on any other working day in 2026. So we did I had to purchase a ticket for a new guest which cost me $65 oddly ticket costed $49 but after a $10 service fee it was now magically $65!!! Insane math doesn't make sense but I digress!! To start the parking is either $35 or $45 nothing else just $35 or $45 which is a complete rip off if I am being honest their is no reason to be charging that type of price for parking so you are already out of $40 immediately!!! Food prices let's not get started a toddler size container of Dippn Dots was $9.65 yep insane... We stopped in Grain and Grill my wife got a cold roll, 3 dry chicken tenders sprinkled with parsley to look fancy, rice Pilaf ( best thing on the plate) & a Regular drink $26.70 not worth the price at all ...then we went to LaRosas $18.99 for 2 dry,cold and hard not fresh slices of pepperoni pizza and 2 breadsticks!!! At these prices staff should be chipper and every thing should be top tier and fresh!!! Not the case It was only 3 of us but I cant imagine being a Mom with several kids and husband etc...trying to feed them in here you will be broke and dissatisfied!!! My son got 6 wings and a handful of fries and drink $24 ridiculous the wings were soft and underwhelming at most. And let's not talk about the locker rental in the Waterpark that was $25 RIP OFF!!! And the swim shoes if you so happened to forget yours were $29.88 literally insane and two cones were $18!!! I love Kings Island but I tell you with prices like this and I can afford it I own a business I just dont think I will be back this is all bad and needy some revamping to make things more reasonable for families people come here for a good time but are only left with a empty wallet and disappointment.. This park has amazing rides. There's rides for kids and actual roller coasters which I enjoyed lots. However they are severely understaffed. I waited in line for 45 minutes to get chicken fingers and tater tots. It was one of the only options because everything else was closed. You could see in the back how the employees were just standing there on their phones. If they get more staff it would be an amazing park. read more

They added a Conjuring Haunted area which cost an extra $ (no big deal, expecting something like this to spice some things up)....wasn't expecting that you have to pay now to go into the haunted house areas (scare zones/"maze areas were still free)! Don't think I'll be renewing my gold pass (which one of the workers said "doesn't do much anymore...just parking, rides, and promotion days") A little of a let down! It's crowded and the lines are painfully long. Expect to wait hours for rides. The tickets are over priced given those wait times, and the fast pass is exceedingly expensive per person. The fast pass was $175 per person in addition to entry tickets. You also have to pay for parking. So you could end up spending a small fortune for a day. The staff don't really know details about anything other than the ride or shop they're responsible for. With hardly maps and signage plus very unclear details around passes, access provided by passes, etc it' can get a little confusing if it's your first time visiting. Orion and Banshee are amazing coasters and smooth rides. Total rush. But your wait times will be measured in hours. Invertigo was not operating , but there is nothing on the website to give you a heads up about roll coaster status before you buy a ticket. The park is average cleanliness and having trash cans everywhere helps keep litter down. The bathrooms are gross. read more

I have been to theme parks all over the US and Kings Island is one of the best run regional parks there is. Operations are phenomenal, staff is friendly and rides are kept up and running a majority of the time unlike some other parks in the six flags/ cedar fair chain. When rides do down it usually for brief periods and the issue is resolved shortly. They also run 3 trains on most major coasters so lines move much faster than at other parks. read more

Kings Island is often overshadowed by Cedar Point. That is a shame, because while Cedar Point is a good park, Kings Island is a park that is at least equally, if not more enjoyable than its larger and more famous sister park 3 hours and 30 minutes to the north. They have the hyper with the splashdown Diamondback, a giga coaster Orion, a thrilling wooden coaster Mystic Timbers, the longest B&M invert Banshee, and the legendary night ride that is The Beast. Kings Island also has some good supporting coasters, such as Backlot Stunt Coaster (temporarily renamed Queen City Stunt Coaster for the 2025 season), indoor coaster Flight of Fear, classic coaster Racer, suspended coaster The Bat, and mine train Adventure Express. Additionally, they have a huge Peanuts-themed kids area, full of not just kids coasters but also family coasters everyone can enjoy like their newest Snoopy's Soap Box Racers and classic family coaster Woodstock Express. They also have some good food options, though we only ever ate at Miami River Brewhouse, which has some amazingly large nachos. And unlike Cedar Point, the crowds at Kings Island are refreshingly manageable, to the point where you don't need to buy a Fast Lane unless you're visiting on the weekend. In short, Kings Island is a wonderful park and we would definitely come back if in the area again. read more

I've been to King's Island MANY times and have always enjoyed it. One time I'd never been until revisiting was during their Halloween Haunt. Trust me, if you're a fan of theme park thrills and horror movie theme scares, this is the time for you to go. During the daytime, the park is more the usual and more kid friendly side, but decked out in beautiful fall themed decor. Enjoy the great rides and scream on all their awesome roller coasters. But when night falls, the creeps come out to scare and scare they do. The haunted attractions open up, some now at an extra fee (like the newest one based on The Conjuring movie series), but also some out on the walkways. I'd recommend a purchasing a Haunt Pass to truly see it all. Trust me, the cast and crew really put on a spooktacular show guaranteed to fill you with fantastic fright. Of course, it's a little pricey, but it's worth it when you get the full experience. And definitely ride the Mystic Timbers coaster at night for a truly thrilling ride (possibly better than The Beast at night). I love King's Island and it's definitely one of my favorite theme parks of all time. read more

#bucketlisttriplisatony2024 Tony Vanoy and I got up Saturday and decided to go do one of our bucket list today....go ride Roller coasters at ages 62 and 60 !! So off to Kings Island where our love for the thrill & excitement began for us both in our youth!! We left around 7am, got the about 10am and first coaster was The Banshee We were able to get the front seat and we were off!! The adrenaline was pumping to our hearts, the excitement flowing like wine & whiskey throughout our veins...with every twist & corkscrew twist turn & loop, we were becoming reborn in the Memories of our youth!!! We stayed about 6 hrs and road about 15 rides total, the lines were long. We watched a great bubble show, ate a great hot pretzel...the Orion Coaster was super amazing!!! I thought I was going to loose my stomach on the Bat coaster!! The Adventure Express Wooden Coaster cracked my spine and beat the crap out of me...felt like a car wreck got me!!! We had a lot of fun reliving our childhood!! Tony didn't get a beer or have a cigarette until after we left the park. The cigarette part was not by choice though...on the banshee he lost his cigarettes lighter and house keys out of his pockets in one of the many loops!! Besides Kings Island is now a Smoke Free and Cash Free park!!! On line at there is a Kings Island app you can download and on Kings Island. Com you can get a WV discount on tickets for $42.50 per ticket!! Parking is $30 for regular & $40 for Preferred but if you have handicap pass just pay regular price you still get preferred saves you $10. read more

Parking and entrance to the park was so smooth, we arrived right before the park opened at 10am and were inside the park at 10:02, loved the easiness of it all. It was a Thursday and this a little slower. Our drink refill pass, is so helpful throughout the day, every 15 mins, it's time for a refill, for sure wish the cup given to us was bigger, that would be nice. All the rides were running that day. The longest we waited was an hour for flight of fear and 30 minutes for Whitewater Canyon. We walked on Orion and Diamondback multiple times. Its a great park, I'd just love to see more shade in the park, it feels like your on a big concrete slab most of the time and that is hot. Put some more shades in the lines as well, please. All in all we love King's Island, love the addition of Sol Spin, it's a good one. And a bonus we got drenched on Whitewater Canyon on a hot day, perfect. read more

Kings Island was a blast for my 7 year old. We probably only say less than 1/2 of the park. Snoopy land was perfect. We got the all day dining for $34 and it was worth it! You can get an entree and side every 90 min, and normally those meals are around $16. So if you stay all day to have multiple meals, it's worth it! The best restaurant was the one right at the beginning on the left. They had pork kabobs. I liked the Brussels sprout side and my daughter really enjoyed the Mac and cheese. We went twice. read more

This is my first visit to Kings Island and I was blown away. I spent a sweltering day near the end of July here but I still managed to have a great day. I only had 7 hours before I had to drive back to KY so I bought a fast lane and got on as many rides as I could. My first giga and second hyper but all of these rides I got on I enjoyed for the most part, I won't knit pick but I know the coaster to skip next time. Sleeper coaster for me was Flight of Fear insane layout in the dark great ride. Staff were nice, the 2 bathrooms I used were clean and well kept and the food I had was surprisingly good, especially the ice cream at the end of my day! (Did I mention it was HOT??) Better than my home town cedar fair park. Killer coaster lineup definitely worth the cost to go. I will be bringing my kid here and cedar point in the near future. Customer Service has been horrible from the start of the day upon entering the park, through the days end, trying to purchase soft serve ice cream for the kids. None of the gold pass discounts would work when requested, supervisors had no ability to make things right, if the app doesn't show a bar code, shut it down, your discount that you paid for in the annual pass, isn't happening. I will never be back, and it's purely because of the lack of customer service. Take your entertainment dollars, elsewhere, where the business may care about you. read more

OMG! I hadn't been to KI in almost 11 years and it was certainly nostalgic to be back with my now teenager who isn't afraid of rollercoasters. I purchased the wristband with parking & unlimited drinks + premium dining (so worth it). I'm mad I didn't take more pics of the food but for a big portion of our time there, we put our phones in a locker to thoroughly enjoy ourselves in the moment. The waterpark was my favorite - the bathroom/showers were clean and organized. The lazy river although wonderful length and plenty of operable tubes, there was a plague of cicadas that took over mason ohio (we were unaware of until we started getting closer) they were flying into the car and hitting the windshield and were literally coating the top layer of the lazy river. We wanted to cry and get our money back to move the tickets until the cicadas died but we had to make the most of it. They advised us while on the coasters to keep our mouths shut because there had been reports of them hitting peoples faces. This was by no means KI's fault - just Mother Nature & something to think about when traveling to outdoor parks if you're not a "bug" person. All in all 10/10 experience. I did almost 20k steps which was an added bonus! Can't wait to go back next summer or maybe even try this fall. I would put zero stars if I could. A manager named Caleb Kempf who looks like Tommy Boy claimed I didn't look anything like my photo when scanning my pass. I said I had no problem providing my license, which ALSO has my name, photo, and birthday. After taking my ID, Caleb still insisted on retaking my photo as he felt the photo I had on file, in which I "had on make up and my hair was done", wasn't "representative" of what he felt I actually looked like. He deleted my photo, shoved a camera in my face without consent and intentionally took a photo I wasn't even looking in. He then snarkily said "there, that's your new photo"; all while withholding my license so I couldn't just leave. I filed a complaint online and then went to guest services to follow up, as nobody should be treated so rudely. Caleb came into the room and said he read the complaint and proceeded to lie and say it wasn't how he felt the interaction went. King's Island should have never even allowed him to handle a complaint against himself. After nearly 30 minutes (in which he was in possession of my season pass, so again, I couldn't leave), I was finally able to talk to a different manager who still acted like there was nothing he could do really. I don't think having an incel who peaked in high school working the front gates is the best move, especially one who uses his "power" as manager to be misogynistic and disrespectful. I'm convinced he did it as a humiliation ritual, because once I provided my ID to confirm my identity and information there was no need to delete my photo and shove a camera in my face. They promised Caleb's direct supervisor would reach out to follow up, which of course she never did. read more

I come here every summer I love this place. They have amazing roller coasters. Delicious food. They also have a really fun water park and a lot of fun events. The sky on the way there is beautiful. read more

I came into the food court with my stomach begging for food, i left sick to my stomach. The performance team is absolutely horrible, those girls cannot catch a note to save their lives. Also, screaming into the mic where we can't talk to our families is ridiculous. Please choose better time, and lower the speakers so the whole building ain't shaking. read more
