Not a great experience. In town & had a few hours so we used our Cedar Point pass to cruise the park for the cold night of May 1. Totally nuts here. Parking was almost full at 5. The lines were double the app estimates! The eateries were hilariously unprepared w/ lines out the door. Half the employees the need working only half the counter open at the BBQ place being used. 20 mins to get food. Then you go over to check out & there's 4 registers open but only 1 at a time is ever occupied since only 1 order comes out every 30 secs. So 3 workers are staring at phones! So poorly organized. Our Mac & cheese was so cold we couldn't eat it so had to go back & request another which had a 5 mins wait for another batch. Ice was piled up on every drink dispenser to laughable levels & again there's still 3 check out girls "picking their nose" just 3' away. We left early b/c it was pretty awful.

We took our 17 yr old on a Father's Day roadtrip weekend hitting CedarPoint, Kings Island, Kings Dominion and Carrowinds in a week. Kings Island is awesome. We were sad to see no one knew about the Turkey Legs and CedarPoint or Kings Island. The Turkey Legs and Kings dominion were sad tasting and extremely tough.

    Happy Camper. Thumbs up

I took several of the teens from church here although they were unworthy. The name says it all Kings Island because you have to be a king to afford to pay for the parking. I did purchase the food pass for $50. This pass enabled me to get a drink every 15 minutes. All day long. It also enabled me to get a meal or any other food item every 90 minutes. I started off with a double cheese burger then I had Pizza, a cinnamon pretzel and ended the day with a huge hot dog. I was not disappointed and felt this was a great value. Eat a meal get on a ride then puke and repeat. $100 to ride and eat all day which equaled $1000 worth of memories

Amazing place to go to have fun and get out of the house. The food is a bit expensive but you can always bring your own in. The blue ice cream is definitely the best thing there and is a great way to cool down in the heat. If you go reasonably early and get there by 11 ish on a weekday, you can pretty much walk onto every single ride. There's lots of things to see and do like shows, magicians, caricatures, etc. I would definitely recommend going on a weekday if possible, but if not, you could get a fast pass on the weekend and it wouldn't be too bad.

Kings Island is an outstanding park the kind of elements in the roller coasters. They have the longest wooden roller coaster in the world the diamondback they have the best type of rides ever I truly would not love another amusement park just like I love Kings Island

Very fun time l liked banshee, but I wouldn't recommend monster, the process of getting on takes forever. I loved Diamond back and Orion but the beast was a very rough and painful one I got a big bruise from (That's the picture) and I recommend most the rides. :)

It's been another 10 years since I left my review and the last time I went is when they first released The Banshee roller coaster. Now I'm back with my Mr. Wow! Did they add so much since then. They now added Orion and Mystic Timbers roller coasters, they revamped the kids area and now it's Peanuts/Snoopy. I thought the Woodstock Air Rail was pretty cool. There's more restaurants and quick food vendors. I especially found the German restaurant interesting. And they are still expanding! They may have changed the names of the rides but they are still the same but remodeled. We stayed for the Halloween Haunt. This is a must go because they go all out! Decor is on point, characters are walking around scaring people, the fog gives a great illusion, and the roller coasters are better to ride at night. And open until midnight?! Yesssss!!! They also added another new attraction-The Conjuring. Parking went up to $35.00 and they now have a "fast" line but it's an extra upgrade. Season passes are still sold. You are able to bring your own canisters and water. I know theme parks can be expensive for food and drinks but I can see why. They keep this place nice! My favorite are the classic roller rides. Adventure express, The racer and Flight of fear! Followed by the new ride Mystic Timbers. I can't wait to come back in December for Winterfest. I'll always be a Kings Island fan. It's so much fun. You'll go home tired but satisfied.

Kings Island is often overshadowed by Cedar Point. That is a shame, because while Cedar Point is a good park, Kings Island is a park that is at least equally, if not more enjoyable than its larger and more famous sister park 3 hours and 30 minutes to the north. They have the hyper with the splashdown Diamondback, a giga coaster Orion, a thrilling wooden coaster Mystic Timbers, the longest B&M invert Banshee, and the legendary night ride that is The Beast. Kings Island also has some good supporting coasters, such as Backlot Stunt Coaster (temporarily renamed Queen City Stunt Coaster for the 2025 season), indoor coaster Flight of Fear, classic coaster Racer, suspended coaster The Bat, and mine train Adventure Express. Additionally, they have a huge Peanuts-themed kids area, full of not just kids coasters but also family coasters everyone can enjoy like their newest Snoopy's Soap Box Racers and classic family coaster Woodstock Express. They also have some good food options, though we only ever ate at Miami River Brewhouse, which has some amazingly large nachos. And unlike Cedar Point, the crowds at Kings Island are refreshingly manageable, to the point where you don't need to buy a Fast Lane unless you're visiting on the weekend. In short, Kings Island is a wonderful park and we would definitely come back if in the area again.

I am at a point now where I can't go to an amusement park without paying for a fast lane (aside from Disney because their lines are fun) and this place was probably more pricey than it should've been. Great thrilling Roller Coasters though. The food and the ming was OK but not enough to warrant spending over $500 for 2 people just for tickets and fast-passes.

I've been to King's Island MANY times and have always enjoyed it. One time I'd never been until revisiting was during their Halloween Haunt. Trust me, if you're a fan of theme park thrills and horror movie theme scares, this is the time for you to go. During the daytime, the park is more the usual and more kid friendly side, but decked out in beautiful fall themed decor. Enjoy the great rides and scream on all their awesome roller coasters. But when night falls, the creeps come out to scare and scare they do. The haunted attractions open up, some now at an extra fee (like the newest one based on The Conjuring movie series), but also some out on the walkways. I'd recommend a purchasing a Haunt Pass to truly see it all. Trust me, the cast and crew really put on a spooktacular show guaranteed to fill you with fantastic fright. Of course, it's a little pricey, but it's worth it when you get the full experience. And definitely ride the Mystic Timbers coaster at night for a truly thrilling ride (possibly better than The Beast at night). I love King's Island and it's definitely one of my favorite theme parks of all time.

If we rent a cabana, can we come and go from the water park (to the amusement park and back) and keep the cabana for the day to use as our base camp? Thank you! Any helpful first-time visitor advice is appreciated!

Yes. Although I believe the water park opens earlier than the amusement park, so if you plan on going earlier than the water park opens you might have to carry your stuff or get a re-entry pass to go to your car or RV. Have fun!

Can a pass holder buy a guest pass for a friend if they are not going with the guest?

    I think so.

What do you think is the best place to eat?

I'd recommend the Festhaus for a group with different tastes but the Brewhouse near Mystic Timbers is good.

Can you buy fast passes at the park still?

    Yes

    How much the tickets?

Hello, in the Cleveland area there is a park called Kiddie Park. You purchase a packet of tickets for the rides and it is a great intro to the younger kids without the commitment of purchasing admission for the whole family, which can be pricey.…

    How much the tickets?

Depends on when you go. Weekdays are cheaper than weekends. Their website has the most up to date info

Are you able to take cross body small purses on the roller coasters?

On most. Some of new new big ones may make you check them in a locker like banshee and mystic timbers

I have never been to one. And I was wondering how is there enough to do for whole day?

There's way more than you could even do in a day, especially if it's busy and has lots of lines. There's a water park in the Summer, and tons of rides! Roller coasters, gentle rides, carnival type rides, a train, a whole kiddy Park area. And there's…

The Twelve Days of Yelpmas Day Twelve…read more I didn't get enough coastering in down in Florida so on the spur of the moment I decided to drive down to Kings Island Winterfest. I knew there would be three coasters running and expected Mystic Timbers to be the star of the show. It took awhile to get on, as it was sitting idle after several test trains right after rope drop so I decided to knock out The Racer and Flight of Fear first. Then when I got back to Mystic Timbers it went down shortly after I got in line. So it was back to the supporting cast. Third time was a charm, though. I ended up barreling through the woods five times on Mystic Timbers. It hauls pretty well through the cold air but wasn't quite as marathonable as I expected. Don't get me wrong - MT is a blast but as far as Great Coasters International rides go I was hoping for a little more White Lightning airtime and a little less Renegade intense laterals. That's just my taste for elements and the quick side to side motions were probably exacerbated by the fact I was a single rider going crashing into a stranger every time Mystic Timbers did a sideways whip. MT is definitely smooth enough for a wood coaster but it kinda doesn't matter when the turns are that hard. Still fun, I rode it 5 times but eventually I found myself desiring another ride on The Racer which I didn't think was gonna happen. The ride ops were on point. Much better than the laggards down at Busch Gardens Tampa. And the theming is cool but I can take or leave it. I like the cheesy 80s music appearing to play from a cassette on a vintage boombox better than the video screen in the shed. At least it's something for the dead time on the brake run. I recommend Mystic Timbers even if it wasn't quite the masterpiece I was hoping for.

For today's review, we have Mystic Timbers at Kings Island. Now, on paper, you look at this ride…read moreand are like "Oh, typical GCI, nothing special." WRONG, WRONG WRONG WRONG. This is one of the best wooden coasters EVER!!!! I'm serious, this ride is so freaking awesome, it's in my top 10 overall coasters! So yeah, we're in for a TREAT with this ride! :) First we sit down, get our seatbelts on and lapbars down and th.... oh, the train dispatched before I could finish my sentence! Yeah that's typical, Kings Island ops are amazing! Anyways, we have some small dips and turns before heading up the lift hill. We are told by some speakers to turn around and to go home back to our video games. But since we're f*cking stupid, we don't! We then hit the drop and into a big left turn, so far this isn't anything special. But don't worry, the real madness begins now! We then drop off and have a SHARP moment of ejector air. Yeah, I preached about how Prowler and Thundehread have airtime better than some RMCs, yeah, Mystic has that as well. We then hit two back to back bunny hops which provide AMAZING ejector air. We then hit a s bend that hits us with some good laterals with EVEN MORE AIRTIME! Along with another curved hill. Yeah, you get the idea. This ride has a lot of amazing airtime with laterals thrown in. Prowler has this as well, but Mystic adds the insanity that Thunderhead provides, making this the overall stronger ride. We then turn into a tunnel that provides some exceptional laterals followed by more airtime. And you do NOT slow down. You are just FLYING through this layout. After some more strong airtime and laterals, we hit one last double up into the brake run. And then.... THE SHED!!!! Yeah, this ride has a mini dark ride section, SWEET! So we enter the shed and we hear some music play (if only it was Justin Bieber or Misha, THEN it would be scary). After the train ahead of us leaves the station, the lights start flickering and we move forward. And a screen shows us a TREE MONSTER who attacks us, and then back in the station. So yeah, that's Mystic Timbers. Sure, the Shed scene isn't that great, but I do appreciate the fact that it exists. It still adds on to the ride and makes Mystic Timbers stand out even more. And on top of that, THE RIDE IS FREAKING AWESOME! This is seriously if you took Outlaw Run, Thunderhead, and Prowler, and combined them all into one coaster you get Mystic Timbers. This is easily my favorite GCI (Sorry Thunderhead) and my 2nd favorite wooden coaster (Only Behind Voyage). So I obviously recommend riding Mystic Timbers. It's the best ride at Kings Island and one of the best coasters ever made! Final Score: 100/100 Opened: 2017 Built by: Great Coasters International Last Ridden: August 9th 2025

When it debuted, this swinging coaster was called Top Gun, after the Tom Cruise movie of the same name. The station was heavily themed to look like an aircraft carrier (fun fact: Kings Island enlisted the production designer from the actual film--John DeCuir--to create the station and queue area for this ride). You'd be able to hear Kenny Loggins 'Danger Zone', 'Mighty Wings' from Cheap Trick, or the signature riffs from the iconic theme song by Harold Faltermeyer & Steve Stevens........until 2008. When Paramount gave way to Cedar Fair, all Top Gun-related crap went straight out the F-18 window and the ride was re-named "Flight Deck", retaining the concept of taking off from a military aircraft carrier but dropping the copyrighted stuff (including the killer soundtrack played in the queue line). This name stuck for 6 seasons until Kings Island decided to re-theme the coaster once again, this time as a throwback/homage to a suspended prototype coaster that existed back in the 80's, also called The Bat. {{ end lesson }} The ride experience itself is pretty enjoyable. The Bat remains 1 of 5 coasters on the planet where the carriage hangs freely below the track, which allows the cars to swing up to 90° in either direction as they navigate turns. It's got some decent speed (51mph), and the spaghetti-like twists of orange track and dark grey supports makes for a striking visual. Not overly extreme, but definitely not tame. Of course it all depends on where you sit.....to me, it felt like the front row gave more laterals (side to side G-forces) and an overall better ride. However, The Bat's biggest drawback is the absolutely insane amount of walking it takes to get from the ride's entrance to the station platform. No repetitive back-and-forth queues here, just a single never-ending line that stretches deep into a sequestered corner of Kings Island. When crowds are light, it could easily take you 7+ minutes of continuous walking thru the forest terrain before you reach the station. Exercise sucks. While similar to Vortex at sister Cedar Fair park Canada's Wonderland, The Bat offers slightly milder thrills, a shorter drop and lesser top speed. It's still a fun coaster credit, although the ride's general atmosphere has been greatly hampered ever since the Top Gun theme crashed and burned (pun fully intended). And that overly-lengthy queue is about the most inconvenient thing ever, no joke. § front row or back row § : front row is the way to go on this one!
