Under him i had the worst Ulcerative Colitis flare up mainly because I went through Colonoscopy prep in two consecutive weeks. Because i messed up the prep first week. His judgement was totally wrong that it was some kind of infection as the swab test came negative. All this pushed me away from doing any kind of preps for flex or colonoscopy with him in few months. He did not liked that and also did not try to discuss with me and cancelled the dr-patient agreement, citing I am not following the policies. Now 3 months after not seeing him, and taking care of UC through a naturopath, i am at much better place in terms of recovery than i was with him. GI specialists seems only know mesalamine, steriods and finally biologics for UC and colonoscopy, which i did not want to follow and found the solutions outside of this. Summary: with Ulcerative Colitis if your GI is not talking about the role of diet, stress and lifestyle change the doctor.

My first one was in 1989 when first moved to Latrobe PA and still employed with PPG. They have changed a bit over the years but I 've continued to have them just for prevention. Live everyone else, not a favorite procedure but never had a real problem till this last one. Had one last July along with an endoscopy. Showed a couple po polyps which were removed and were totally benign. Had the procedure on a Tuesday and started massive internal bleeding the following Sunday. Was taken to Novant North in Huntersville and then transferred to the CCU unit at Novant Presbyterian in Charlotte. Stayed there for two days till I stabilized and while they wanted to keep me longer, I finally talked them into a discharge. Nothing was happening at that point and if it did, I was close enough to get medical assistance quickly. Downside is that due to all of the problems, I'm scheduled for another one in April. Care was very good but let's hope for a better experience.

Called the office as soon as I could and they took all my information and details of the events. The nurse would call back with an appointment that afternoon. 32 hours later (the next day at 4pm) the nurse calls with many questions about what is going on then asks to put me on hold so she can read my records. The result was "I will talk to the Dr to decide next steps" and no appointment as requested and no resolution and we are heading towards 48 hours since my request.

When I requested a phone call from their on-call provider I waited five hours and got an arrogant rude lecture on the proper use of on-call services. Never asked my name, not one question about symptoms or medical history. There are much better options for gastro care than this very unhappy group. I would never recommend this medical group to anyone. I use other specialists within Eagle and have nothing but good things to say about them, the GI group is an exception to the usually excellent care I've received.
