Would not recommend this company. Would give 0 stars if possible. I had them install a privacy fence in my yard however, the fence is uneven. We wanted a 6 ft fence all the way around the yard and contracted to have a 6 ft fence but that was not executed. I have tried to talk to the owner multiple times and he will not return my calls. We thought we had chosen a reputable company but it is evident that that was not so. We were working with Josh and he lied to us on several occasions. He claimed that he had multiple crews working for him. That was not so. He claimed he could build the 6ft fence all around. That was not so. The crew that came around was highly unprofessional. They smoked cigarettes and left the remains around and when trying to talk to them continued to smoke. They left the old fence posts broken and sticking out of the ground. The website has they are Charleston's choice winner for the best fence company. However, I believe they meant to put Charleston's choice winner for the worst fence company. Buyer beware! read more

Hank came out and gave us a quote the day after I requested it, and came out again at least two more times to reflag as the HOA and City changed the perimeter. Hank and Meg are super nice and very professional and it was a pleasure to do business with them. I chose Carolina Fence Company over others because of there quick responses, and the structural integrity of their fences. Some of the other companies I had come out didn't go near as far in making sure their fences would last. read more

I hired this company to build a 5' dog-eared picket fence for my backyard. The price was not the best, but they could get the fence built faster than other companies, and I needed it built quickly (for my dog). The fence segments were crooked and at angles from each other instead of a continuous slope. The gate over our single-car-width driveway had to be rebuilt three times the first year. It was initially warping, so they rebuilt the gate and added metal supports. Then that was too heavy, and the gate was leaning/warping on the ground. The third build made the gate lighter but did not align correctly. In the future, I'd choose a different company. read more

I hired this company based on Hank's sales pitch, which was exactly that, a pitch. They installed the fence incorrectly because Hank "forgot to write it down" that the posts were not to touch the ground in spite of the fact that I was assured by the installers that they would use a 2X4 to insure the posts did not go into the ground, which they did. The posts had to be cut and now the gate posts, in addition to fence posts, are splitting and rotting not 1 1/2 years later. The 3 year "guarantee" is a farce and every problem, caused by them, was met with excuses, time delays and inadequate remedy. Use anyone else. read more

They just completed my fence. It looks great. The price was $500 less than other company and was finished in two days. Completely cleaned up after. Made sure I was happy. I only had to give them two days notice when I was ready. Other company gave me a two month waiting period. Was up in the air about the exact date because of our pool completion date. I had to change the date three times and they worked with me every time. Showed up promptly and they worked around the huge mess in my yard( other equipment, pool construction ect). Contact person was friendly and kept good communication. Couldn't be happier and definitely recommend. read more

The wood they used was scrap that looked like it was coughed up from a Lowe's dumpster. It takes them 4 weeks to get someone out here to repair and at this point, I'm just cutting my losses. Hired in Febuary of 2022. They were the middle price of three quotes I received for a pool compliant fence. Decent guy, Hank, came out and seemed professional. They were a quick install, both wait and time to put fence up. The gates were not self closing, so I had to call and have them come out to fix. They installed springs on both gates, but then did not give the locking pins. I again, had to have them come brack and drop off the pins. They gave me one, not the two I needed. I got frustated and bought my own and installed. Then, I failed the pool companys pre inspection because they installed the gates in the wrong direction, so they had to come again. Over the course of two months the gates began to sag and the fence caps were rotting and warped. I asked them to come and evaluate in early April. Hank came out and said that the gate I put up was to large, thats why it was sagging. I told him he designed the gate. He offerred to come and replace the hardware. While adressing the fence caps his reply was, "Well that's what happens when you use shitty material." Not a great response to his companys work. He offerred to replace the fence caps. They replaced the hardware, did it incorrectly again and I finally gave up and did it myself. He has never replaced the fence caps despite the warranty agreement. I received various excuses in the beginning, and then he just stopped responding to me. I sitll text from time to time, where he ignores me. I would avoid this company at all costs. Its the biggest regret we made during our landscaping process. read more

The guy said he'd get a quote to us soon and then my husband and I never heard anything. I called 3 times to ask if we would get the quote soon and every time I was told I would receive it that day or the next morning at the latest... never got it. I have to say Hank was very nice and was quick and reasonable with his quote. Megan at the office also very personable and easy to work with. HOWEVER, they subcontract all work to very unreliable crews who show up when they want, leave without finishing or cleaning up. These people leave tools everywhere, wood laying all over the yard. It took two weeks to complete 200 ft of fence and several heated phone calls to get them to finish their work. read more

STAY AWAY. BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED IN MY LIFE. they came to do a job at the beginning of May for me at my new house. After the left without even saying anything upon completion, I noted that parts of the fence were 5 inches or more off the ground!! My dog could crawl right out of that. After a week of them trying to figure out when they would come by to fix their shitty job, they showed up at my house and offered to either run a board across thebottom of the fence which they admitted would look stupid or plant more grass on top of the existing grass. I said no to both options and another week passed by with multiple emails and calls made to the company to get them to come back and fix their problem. I finally threatened to not complete payment for the job if they didn't come back and fix it. Fast-forward two weeks later they come back and only fixed one section of the fence. Again, I tell them that the whole back section needed to be fixed but if they would just fix the worst sections, I would just drop it. The entire thing looks like garbage and they came back one more time to fix part of their job but refused to fix the last section because they claims to me that that part was only 2 inches off the ground but I am not an idiot and I measured it, it's actually 4 inches. Why would you leave 4 inches off the ground on a fence? They admitted that the reason it looked like crap is because they put the posts too high yet didn't want to pull them because it was too much work. They take no pride in their job and they also don't care about the customer. Never in my life I've been so dissatisfied with completed work and now I have offense but I don't really like that much but I've stopped complaining about because I don't want to deal with them anymore. Carolina Fence Company did a fantastic job for us! I give 5 stars for customer service and the finished fence ... truthfully, it took a really long time for them to complete our fence. That said, they totally warned me up front that it would be 3ish months to completion. Signed the contact in mid-September, finished up today, December 5. The fence is beautiful, matched some existing fencing. They were the quickest ones to call us and come to our house to give us a quote. Some companies around town never even got back to me! I thought the communication would stay great, but it didn't. As many of the reviews say online, the communication is the biggest issue. It took longer than expected to come out and build our fence. They're going to tell you 4-5 weeks, but I'm sure it'll be more like 6-8 weeks. That is fine, but just be communicative with us! From my understanding they contract out their labor. The guy that was here working on our fence did a great job explaining the process, listened to our requests of where we wanted the fence, and executed it correctly! He did not clean up after himself though - Nails in our yard. Concrete left. Piles of dirt. It took us about an hour to clean up after them. Not cool. Three stars for sure. read more

I had a fence installed by Carolina Fence about a year and a half ago. about 2 months ago, my neighbor behind me was having a fence put up and I found out that my company installed my fence about 2.5 feet into his yard, and shorted me about 2.5 feet on the adjacent property line. I called Carolina Fence, Hank came out to look at it and said he would get someone out there to fix it as soon as possible. He was here a month and a half ago, and still nothing. I have sent 10 emails to their office trying to get a call from Hank or someone else or a definitive date that they will be here to fix their screw up but every time they say Hank will call me he never does. At this point I feel like my issue is being ignored since they have already been paid, and that customer satisfaction is not their priority, ESPECIALLY when it was their mistake in the first place! We hired these guys to build a fence a year ago and were very happy with their work and professionalism. We are in a new build area and the fence was damaged when the home next door was built, the contractor agreed to pay for the damages. Carolina Fence company quoted us and asked that we pay up front to schedule, we did. They acknowledged the payment and it has been 10 weeks, we are still not scheduled nor will they return our calls. We had high hopes for this company. The sales guy was nice, attentive and seemed to have our best interest in mind. Once we signed on and the project started he told us to discuss problems with the foreman, not him. He quit being so supportive. The crew, when they showed, were very friendly and approachable. However, this company has no business building fences. It took over two weeks for them to build a privacy fence around a small backyard. One week they only showed up two days. I really try to give folks the benefit of the doubt BUT here are the reasons why you should not contract this company to build your fence: 1. They trampled our neighbors landscaping. 2. They worked from 11am - 4pm (if they showed up at all). 3. The boards shrunk and we now have a 1/2 inch gap between them. We worked all weekend to cover them with lattice to get vines growing to hide the gaps. 4. The boards are not perpendicular to the ground - they are slanted. 5. We finally called them to tell them that WE WILL FINISH the fence and ask for a discount on cost. They agreed. Now we have a huge project on our hands.
