They are family-owned and operated and some of the friendliest people you will meet. The staff were so patient with all the first timers in our group and we had lots of laughs. Some were more timid/cautious than others so they showed us how to apply more brake if we needed to slow down for whatever reason. But if you wanted to go fast, you certainly had the opportunity. 2 guides helped 8 people so we were really well-cared for. Also, the guides learned all of our names by the third zipline and it felt like we were hanging out with a group of friends. The cost is very reasonable for what you get - go through Groupon or simply mention the deal - and they will honor that price. There is also the added bonus of the location - being very close to Hanging Rock State Park, you can go and make a day of being outdoors and enjoying nature. I know I will be recommending them to my friends.

Took 9/4 year olds up for a day trip. 4 year old struggles at first with the zip line but the staff there are young and cool so they helped him along. 9 yr old loved the whole thing but wants to go back and do the more challenging course. Swing is a must but under 7 can't go on it. However there is a ninja course next to it they can mess around on while your getting towed up for the swing. Here's my three things: 1) $150+ for 3 for a couple hours so plan accordingly. Check ages and weights for everyone against their online profiles. 2) Snacks and drinks available but limited. 3) They have safes to lock up your valuables while you are on the course. Staff is pretty chill and very safety oriented. Stop by Happy Valley Filling station on the way up or down the mountain if coming up/down 321. Great pizza's and beer!

The first three zip lines were also practice runs where the guides had us comfortable on the platforms in the trees. Then the first real big run was Big Mama. What an incredible view. This was our first year going but it's definitely not our last for sure. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this. Get there early so you can enjoy the fun during daylight.

However, the folks running this place absolutely deserve a five star review (and I'm going to book our next stay well in advance!). We stayed in the pet-friendly cabin #5 which had two bedrooms, a full bath, full kitchen, indoor jacuzzi tub, fireplace, powerful heating unit, and a beautiful front porch with a swing overlooking a pasture and mountains. We drank our coffee here as we watched the sunrise each morning. The cabin interior had every amenity you could need- pots, plates, utensils, coffee maker, paper goods, fresh towels. The decor inside the cabin was so cute and cozy. The other cabins are spaced well apart for privacy and there is a common picnic area up on the hill with a large grill, fire pit, tables and chairs; the sunset views up here are beautiful. I mostly spoke with Sonya who was so kind and also cleaned the cabin before our arrival. Everything was sparkling clean and the fireplace was lit for our arrival. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay and we didn't want to leave. We can't wait to return with friends and family. During our stay, we hiked several spots along the parkway, but our favorite hike was over in Buffalo Mountain preserve (30 min from the cabin) for the most beautiful 360 degree view at the peak (be advised it was pretty strenuous and muddy with all the recent rain). And we also highly recommend Buffalo Mountain Brewing/McDaniels Tavern for a beer and a bite to eat after your hike.

You would think that you were miles out of town by the scenery. We visit several times a year and have done so for several years now. We have never been disappointed with our stay here. The New River Trail is located at the end of the cabins so there is no need to drive and park for access to the bike trail. The cabins are very clean. The staff are also very nice. Mary is such a sweetheart. Always ready to help. Chuck and Wanda, the cleaning crew, are also very nice folks and do an excellent job on the cabins. If you are looking for a nice, peaceful weekend getaway, this is the place. Galax has a real jewel and it's the New River Trail Cabins.
