There is some damage to my CGH so I scheduled an inspection/repair with Jaimie. So far, so good. On the scheduled inspection day, no one ever showed up after my husband and I purposely stayed home to deal with it. It was off and on rainy so I assumed that was the problem but I would have expected a phone call stating this and to reschedule. Nothing. I contacted gutter helmet to install a new gutter on the back of my house. The salesman came out at the time and date scheduled. After looking at my situation, which I already have a gutter on the house that was not effective, the salesman an suggested that we abandon the existing gutter which was installed inside the soffit and install the new gutter helmet on the outside of the soffit. We agreed paid a deposit and scheduled the install. Here comes the problems. The install was scheduled for Thursday between 9 and 10 am, at 11:30 my wife called tO see what was going on and the girl in the office said "what they're not there yet? Let me call the rm and I'll call you back. She calls back says they are stuck in traffic and should be there soon. 10 minutes they show up the installers obviously to me Did Not Want to Be Here for what ever reason I still don't know. The main installer looks at the job and says this won't work, it's going to leak and I don't know what we can do. I'm flabbergasted that he can stand on the ground look up at a roof and say he can't install a gutter. This installer calls the owner of the company and says whatever and leaves the job. I immediately call gutter helmet ask to speak to the owner and he's in a meeting and can't speak to me. So I ask for a ffull refund of my deposit and tell them I i would like for the owner to call me. They say no problem. The owner has not called and I just got off the phone with the salesman wHo is very upset and suggested that the installer is untouchable and the owner believes everything this installer tells him. Well Gutter Helmet you lost $2000. In gutter installation and a potential new roof for 20,000 -30,000 in future business. I guess the Gutter Business is good....... I would not recommend Gutter Helmet to anyone....... read more

We have worked with Robie and his company, CGH, for a couple of years on awnings and shades for our back porch. They have been great to respond to our needs including service after the sale. Our main awning was a 25' motorized $8,000 Sunshade which has been wonderful. We are able to enjoy our rear porch in hot summer months so, though expensive, we consider it to be a good investment. We also have bought several motorized drop shades for the porch which give us privacy and protection from wind gusts. Hate to do this but I am giving a 1 start rating. I have now been waiting over a month for a retractable awing. Still nothing. Nobody even bothered to keep in touch with me with updates. I had to call more than 1 number then someone called me back. Said that there was an issue with manufacturer being switched. My question is why nobody even bothered to tell me. I am waiting Carolina Gutter Guard. I had really hoped to be able to enjoy the awning before it gets super hot. At lease have it for Memorial day. I asked the guy who sold it to me in a text did he think I might get it by Memorial day and he answered with a "I don't know" That was really comforting :-( Considering the price that I am paying for something I still don't have, I suggest that anybody considering an awning just add a few more hundred dollars and get your patio covered. It will probably last longer and they will build it in less than a week. It is a shame that a popular company like a Sunsetter is getting a bad name from a company that is really primarily a gutter company. Stick to gutters and gutter guards Carolina Gutter Helmet. I have been working with Gutter Helmet since this past February and while communications were slow and sporadic, once we signed the contract things improved a bit. The team showed up on time and was professional and did a great job with the preparation and installation of the guards. Unfortunately there is no lower rating that I can give. I paid in full for an awning from this company months ago and if I had not taken the initiative to call and complain they still would not have called me. "Robbie" has made promise after promise and finally said he understood why I am pissed. Stay away from these people and Sun Setter Awnings. They cannot be trusted-will write more if and when I get my refund. read more
