Every visit, phone call, text, etc was always particular and intimate to our own story while being backed by informed, professional advice and conversation. From billing support to postpartum visits in their new gorgeous office, Nettle made this process easy in a medical landscape that can often be so opaque and overwhelming. As a sporadic doula, I'm lucky enough to have been present at several births and they offer a level of care that I didn't know existed. We were fortunate to have an incredible home birth in our barely one bedroom apartment and throughout felt supported but empowered, nurtured but independent. From the first meeting we knew it was the only way, and they were there for us every step. Both pre and post natal care (not to mention labor and birth support) were approached with attentiveness, warmth, and joyful tenderness. I've carried their philosophy with me into parenthood and find myself asking WW(Jo/Jenna)D for decisions beyond the health of our baby girl and myself. I will not continue with this doctor even though she came highly recommended. She may be wonderful with children but her interaction with me as a parent is unsupportive and judgmental. Any information I have received from her, frankly, seems rather old school. I get the sense that she is quick to judge, overconfident in her assumptions, and the ability to truly listen isn't in her skill set.

She met at my apartment and we talked through different birthing positions and came up with a game plan for the big day, and she checked in often. Due to health complications i ended up having an induction at the hospital. Sabina was absolutely one of my rocks during that process. She stayed up with me all night doing counter pressure, hydrating me, feeding me, bringing me so much comfort and we had such a beautiful rhythm going. The hospital i birthed at was terrible and i seriously couldn't have gotten through those days without my support team which includes Sabina. She came whenever anyone that was in my room texted her, and when i felt like i could do it without her she would go home sleep and refuel so she could be ready for when i needed her again. She held my hand during my epidural, and when i went through transition she held my hands so tight and just let me yell and squirm and reassured me that i could do it. When my daughter was born we both cried and she held me and kept telling me how beautiful my baby was and that i did it. She stayed after to make sure i was okay. She checked in after for almost 3 weeks via texts, and came for a home visit. I felt so cared for. Sabina is part of my family and forever will be. She is exactly what a doula should be in every sense of the word and if i decide to have another baby she will be the doula at that birth 10000000%

The two doctors who run the practice these days are lovely, experienced and thorough. They go above and beyond both during clinic hours and while on call to care for my family. The clinic is nice, it's in an older building but very conveniently located right above the subway and I really like the kid friendly decor, art, and color palette. Staff is attentive and friendly. I've recommended this place to all my friends and they rave about the level of care they receive compared to the busy patient mills around the city where you are the 40th person to see the doctor on a given day. The doctors here are generous with their time and answer all my questions. I'll be bringing all my kids to see Doctor Firoze and Doctor Viñas.

Debbie has been working with our son for about 4 months, since a little after he turned two, when…read morehe was saying only a handful of consonants and one vowel. He learns something new almost every session (he said a new word after just their first session, after not saying any new words for 6 months!), and now his speech is really taking off. Debbie is PROMPT-certified, and this type of therapy seems to be very efficient in treating our son's speech motor planning difficulties. During their sessions, she can now cue him to say complete words, component by component. I am blown away listening to it. She has built an amazing rapport with our son so that he somehow sits still, completely engaged, for half-hour long sessions, tries to make sounds on command, and has fun the whole time. She is so positive, and encourages him to try without ever making him feel pressured. She also quickly got to know him and what would hold his interest. We are constantly impressed with her skill, professionalism, patience, and resourcefulness, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a speech therapist! I should also add that she has been very helpful providing me with all the necessary information to try and get speech therapy covered by insurance. LP's language comprehension was excellent, but he was saying very few words, but because he had no other delays, we didn't qualify for city-sponsored Early Intervention. We hired Debbie (reimbursed by our health insurance) and are glad we did. We loved the way Debbie immediately and directly engaged with LP, without any bureaucratic BS or adult-to-adult evaluations that might have made our kiddo uneasy. Instead, she went right to play time and language training, and LP, who can sometimes be reserved around new people, quickly and completely connected with her. Their playtime together was energetic, fun and most of all productive for his spoken language development. Debbie's manner of encouraging the flow of speech the course of natural interactions was very comforting. Her structured play time let LP have fun while it was also making it clear to him that he was there to learn. Her method of touching his face and mouth to encourage speech was gentle and natural, and LP clearly took to it. Meeting once or twice a week for about less than two months, Debbie taught us a lot about how to help LP talk more, and pretty soon he "graduated," as he's now repeating our words and excited to talk. All in all, we couldn't recommend Debbie more, so if your child is having any kind of speech issues, definitely contact Debbie.
