Not only was I medically gaslight, I was also misdiagnosed and mistreated. So many medical bills for poor testing, abismal bedside manner, misdiagnosing, and not even getting comprehensive treatment. I have PCOS and endometriosis. Nobody here knows current research on these topics. Even more disturbing, they are not receptive to reading the recent peer-reviewed research. As this is a teaching facility, I find that greatly concerning. I have been bounced around with various doctors here. Each telling me to "wait and see" on symptom development rather than actually treating me. I had surgery for endometriosis and ended up with sciatica after. I went to the office to ask for help with that since I could barely stand or get out of bed most mornings. The doctor told me to stretch and take pain meds. No follow up. I mentioned I've been having intense allergic reactions with hives and swelling. They didn't even want to do testing or prescribe medication. Instead they told me to journal my symptoms. Then when I told them I did already, they wouldn't even read what I had documented.

Somehow my doctor thinks that more visits should equal better care, as though my chronic illness is going to change from this month to the next. I was hesitant to start this process again because of the potential for it to result in an enormous waste of my time with absolutely no care or treatment or diagnosis (again) and after 3 months of quite literally no progress whatsoever, my worst fears have been realized. They are not interested in helping patients at all.
