I experienced a postoperative staph infection while under the care of Dr. Glicksman, which went untreated for two weeks and ultimately necessitated three additional surgeries within the following 12 months. Additionally, a different size implant than the one I consented to was used during the initial surgery. My preoperative intravenous antibiotics were halted shortly after administration due to an allergic reaction. Despite my inquiries to Dr. Glicksman and her nursing staff regarding which intravenous antibiotic would be administered next, medical records indicate that I was never restarted on antibiotics prior to the initial surgery. Three days postoperative, I began to experience symptoms of infection including increased swelling and pain. Even after repeatedly emailing Dr. Glicksman about my worsening symptoms, I wasn't seen in person until eight days postoperative. By then, my symptoms included swelling, pain, body aches, and fever. Dr. Glicksman failed to diagnose the infection and repeatedly expressed disbelief that I had one. Nine days postoperative, I requested for her to prescribe antibiotics but the antibiotics she prescribed did not treat the staph infection. Fourteen days postoperative, due to my insistence, she agreed to perform a second "exploratory" surgery to investigate the cause of my worsening symptoms. By then, the infection had spread to my incision, causing visible cellulitis, and one of my implants had to be removed. Culture results later confirmed that I was suffering from a staph infection. Two days after the second surgery, I went to the ER due to shortness of breath and to seek a second opinion. The following day, Dr. Glicksman received the lab results from the second surgery; however, she declined to prescribe the necessary antibiotics to treat the staph infection, suggesting instead that I consult an allergist and an infectious disease specialist before she would prescribe them. Due to ongoing concern, I immediately sought treatment at the emergency room, where I was promptly started on the appropriate medication for the staph infection. During a Zoom appointment seven days after the second surgery and implant removal, Dr. Glicksman instructed me to cut my own surgical sutures and terminated our treatment relationship, stating that she could not continue with me "running off to the ER," which to me felt like patient abandonment. The experience of losing a breast implant, enduring a staph infection for two weeks, and undergoing repeated revision surgeries has significantly impacted my physical well-being, emotional state, and financial stability. I tried to resolve this issue directly with Dr. Glicksman by requesting a refund for the two surgeries she performed, but my request was denied. I intended to use the funds to help cover the costs of the two additional surgeries necessitated by the infection. Her lack of accountability and compassion throughout this traumatic experience has been incredibly disheartening. When I brought this to her attention, hoping for a simple correction, she was very unwilling to address the mistake--even though it could have been easily fixed. Just, wow. A little back up Intel here I had an excellent experience 15 years ago with a doctor on the West Coast, a highly esteemed surgeon who staff was warm friendly inviting and kind from the beginning to the end, and my surgical result was stellar. Years later after breast-feeding three children the results are now a little droopy. I'm not sure where I found Dr. Glicksman, but in my initial search for a skilled surgeon her name popped up andI decided to do a several hundred dollar Zoom consultation with her. And, five minutes into the conversation, I would never have my surgery done by this woman even if she has a pact with the devil that every breast she touched was that of a photo shopped supermodel. Why? 40 minutes late to the first virtual consultation, 10 minutes late to the back up time, no apologies whatsoever and that is fine. I have my masters in nursing and have a long history of dealing with many personalities in the medical community and I did not expect an apology for that but I did expect some semblance of warmth and personal interaction. When I delicately passed a question asking the necessity of a mammogram (having a lot of knowledge about thermograms and the fact that mammograms can compress an existing lump and make it worse), she abruptly cut me off gave me a long list of her qualifications and education, told me how high my risk of breast cancer was although she knows me not at all and I have no family history, and basically berated and interrupted me and then hung up. She told me if I wasn't going to do everything she said without question essentially I was not the right patient for her. Although I can't blame her because this is literally the ego experience United States medical doctors are raised with, to hear it in person, how people are treated on the daily still is shocking. read more

I took my 14 year-old daughter for the first time to see Dr. Caroline Gliksman. My daughter has severe facial acne and often hides her face in embarrassment. When Dr. Caroline Gliksman entered the room and saw that she was wearing a face mask (due to Covid) and a hooded sweatshirt, she immediately took a scolding and condescending tone. She directed my daughter to take her face mask and sweatshirt off and put it in another room, which my daughter instantly complied. When she sat back down on the examining chair, my daughter - who often shields her face - put her hair forward to cover some of her acne. Dr. Caroline Gliksman immediately snapped at her with "I can't help you. Get out. I'm a surgeon and don't have the patience to deal with someone that acts like a 6 year old." I tried explaining that we were there because she has acne and obviously feels insecure and self-conscious exposing her face, but Dr. Caroline Gliksman responded that she didn't care. She reminded me that she's a surgeon and that "I don't have the right to question her or her decisions in her own office." We weren't in the room more than a few minutes, but this interaction caused my daughter additional pain and shame, and so distraught that she broke down crying in the office. Not only did Dr. Gliksman NOT help my daughter's dermatologic issue, she abused her mentally and should not be allowed to interact with patients. I can assure you that the high performing providers are those who are not only knowledgeable and experts in their field, but also have the decency and humanity to treat their patients--especially children and young adults--with a modicum of respect. I am not sure why Dr. Caroline Gliksman kept telling me that she is a surgeon when we were seeing her for dermatology, but her arrogance, narcissism and lack of emotional intelligence make it clear that she shouldn't be interfacing with patients at all. read more

Dr. Caroline Glicksman is extremely expensive. I went to her based on a friend's recommendation. She charged me $250 for a consultation When I got there, I had to fill out forms prior to seeing the doctor. They asked for my health insurance card even though they don't take insurance. When I refused to give permission for my photo to be taken on the form, Dr. Glicksman had no interest in working with me and explaining what the process was. She used a tweezer to show me the excess skin on my eyelid and how it was going to be removed. I already knew all of that information since I researched it prior to coming there. On the phone I was told that my insurance might reimburse me for the upper lid hood removal. When I got there, thier mantra was "we don't take insurance, we charge 4% if you use Visa, and you must pay the $10, 800.00 in full two weeks prior to surgery. You must also pay $500 as a nonrefundable down payment to reserve the quote that you sign for at the visit. Dr. Glicksman spent a total of 10 minutes with me before she sent me to her assistant to talk about money. Dr. Glicksman let me know that she is also a lawyer and knows all the ins and outs of the law. I would not recommend anyone who has a brain to go to this plastic surgeon. The only thing I don't care for is the front desk staff not friendly at all this is not appropriate when ur paying big money. I have been going to Dr. Glicksman for years. I have had Botox, cool sculpting, etc. The best thing about Dr. Glicksman, beside her great skill, is her honesty. I have asked about different procedures and she is always very honest in telling you when something will not work to correct your issue. I cannot say that for others. I've had two different experiences with Dr. Glicksman, and it feels like I've had two different doctors as well. I had a breast reduction done in 2010 and things went well. I was very pleased with the results although one breast was still slightly larger and there was some discoloration around the scars. Dr. Glicksman mentioned that she could revise the scars and remove more of the tissue from the one breast at a later date. She was always nice and friendly, and made me feel at ease. I received my revision surgery in 2014. I also got a mole removed on my cheek. Dr. Glicksman suggested I take out the stitches on my cheek after one week. I went into the office and the stitches came out no problem. However, when I went to use the scar gel at night, my suture reopened. It was late so I decided to wait until morning to call the doctor. When I woke up, it still did not look good, but the office was closed. The Dr. had called me from a different number the day before to push back my appointment (20 minutes before it was due to start), so I called that number, even though I thought it might be her personal number. While I understand that was not a typical thing to do, the Dr. was extremely rude when she answered telling me I "woke her up" and that "this is completely inappropriate and rude" and there was "nothing that warranted that type of call" and when i explained my situation said "put a band-aid on and call my office when it opens". Well, when I called her office that morning, they informed me she was not there that day, or the next. When I sent in a picture of my cheek to the doctor's email her curt reply told me most likely the sutures had opened but warned me to "only call her office" and maybe they could "refer me to another physician" to get it re-done saying it was not "an emergency". Luckily, a friend referred me to a doctor who squeezed me in that day and told me that absolutely it should be re-stitched within 24-hours, otherwise the scar would be even worse (a sentiment echoed by my dermatologist later on). I have received no apology from Dr. Glicksman, and do not plan on using her for any future check-ups or surgeries. Her bedside manner was extremely dismissive and hurtful and I was young and scared about permanent damage to my face. She was not sensitive to my concerns at all. I would not recommend going to this doctor. UPDATE: After contacting her office to get my files faxed to my new doctor I asked the question if I would get a refund since she was not doing my post-op care. Her office manager who I had loved in the past, LAUGHED at me and said "no, it was your choice to not come back." Well although it was my choice not to come back to Dr. Glicksman, I did not choose to be yelled at by my doctor and I did not choose to be left alone without a reference for another surgeon to help me after my sutures opened. I was lucky that someone could see me, and he told me it definitely had to be closed up that day if I did not want a much wider scar to form. Unbelievably unprofessional response from both the Dr. and her office. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more
