I'd like to give Caroline 5 stars even though I never paid for her services. She was nice enough to give me some pointers for free, on the day OF July 4th, no less. (Thanks again for taking time out of the holiday weekend just to talk to me!) I was desperate on the evening of July 3rd with my four month old baby going through sleep regression. I found Caroline through Yelp by searching for baby sleep consultants. I scheduled a free consulting call for the next morning through her site. Unfortunately, our timing didn't work out so I didn't end up using her as my sleep consultant - but she was so warm, easy to talk to, and genuinely cared about my situation. We talked for a good 15-20 minutes and she gave me some insights/tips at absolutely no charge.! You kickstarted my sleep training process and I am so much better now. read more

We used Caroline from the day we brought my daughter home from the hospital till she was around four months and derived so incredibly much value from that. I am a first-time mom, a former techie, older (42!) and single. Part of what I'm trying to communicate through that sentence is that I had extremely little experience caring for babies. What's more, I didn't really even know what I didn't know. That is, until I got to the hospital and had an emergency C-section for my two-weeks-past-due-date baby. The awesome part about getting a C-section is that you get four nights in the hospital. The best part about that is the team of nurses who are there to help you breast-feed your baby, soothe her, diaper her, swaddle her. Typically babies who are full-term, sleep pretty heavily the first couple of days. This can lull new parents into a false sense of security - "we got this!" Only to have the baby become fussy shortly after leaving the hospital (which is perfectly normal of course but part of what makes new parenting stressful)! Another benefit of C-sections is that you get to witness your baby after they've gone through this stage and are their fussy, wonderful selves! Newborn babies by and large fuss for at least an hour a day regardless of whether you are doing everything perfectly. Some babies fuss much more. Anyway, I had my daughter via emergency C-section on in early January 2016. On about day three or day four in the hospital, my daughter was fussing and fussing and nothing I was doing would soothe her. It was around then that I realized how little I knew about what I was doing. That's when I first reached out to Caroline who was - to my great good fortune - available. I hired her immediately, on the spot, after a brief phone conversation from my hospital bed. It was one of the best decisions I've made. Caroline is an expert in caring for newborns and brings a warm, soothing approach not only to your baby but to someone equally deserving of and needing such care and that is you. Because we had Caroline on our team, the first few months of my babies life or wonderful and incredible and emotional. They were not a nightmare, stressful or very anxiety-producing at all. Of course there were moments but far fewer of them and many more moments of joy because I had Caroline on my team. If you're thinking even a little bit of hiring her, do it. It will be one of the best things you've done for yourself and your new baby - providing support as you get to know one another. read more

Caroline is responsible, trustworthy, and very knowledgeable about the postpartum period. I appreciated Caroline's humor in particular. I had the pleasure of using Caroline as our night doula 2 years ago & was very bad for not writing a review then. I am writing it now, because the third girlfriend I referred Caroline as a doula to just called me & went on & on about what a life saver she is. Honestly you never know what to do, who to hire or what to buy as a first time parent. I never used half the things I purchased, but the best money I spent was on a doula. Caroline is top notch! We worked with her when our second child was born 5 years ago....and not sure how we would have coped if she had not been there to guide and assist through those first difficult months. Our son was colicky and contracted RSV in the first few weeks after his birth. She was patient, loving and helpful in soothing our son, and providing us with some much needed sleep! I was able to parent my older son and care for our infant with much more love and attention during the daytime hours, as a result of Caroline's help. I would not have survived without Caroline's help after I gave birth to my daughter. First, I knew I needed someone trustworthy and experienced to whom I could give my precious newborn when I needed rest. Second, being very non-maternal, I knew I would need help in figuring out how to do a lot of the basics. She was great on both those fronts. BUT where I found her even more valuable were in areas that I did not expect. I had a tough time with breastfeeding and having her help & support is what allowed me to not give up and provide breastmilk for my baby even though I had low supply. We've had caroline since April 2012. During that time she has been providing us OUTSTANDING help! For both our Newborn AND for us as new parents. Not only we got help with baby care at night while we got some sleep, but she was very helpful as a consultant in both baby care and breastfeeding. Every time she comes we'd take some time to talk about baby care for about 30 to 40 minutes weather it's cleaning, bathing, swaddling, crying... Caroline is very prompt and always on time. She is very professional but heartwarming. She is always willing to cope with changing schedules as well. Caroline always keeps herself busy when the baby is asleep. We'd wake up in the morning finding our laundry clean and folder and our dishes washed and back where they belong. From the moment we met her, we felt very secure and confident to work with her. We contacted Caroline for her sleep consultation services for our 7.5 month old baby girl. We were all exhausted at that point and didn't know what else to do to try to help our sweet baby sleep more than a couple hours at a time. Caroline first came to meet our family before baby - she kindly offered the consultation meeting free which gave us a chance to to get to know her. Fast forward to when our little girl was about 6 weeks old when we were trying to figure out sleeping and eating patterns and Caroline was available by phone immediately which provided some assurance. When she came to spend a half day with us, she observed, coached and gave some great structure to the day which was invaluable. Sticking to her simple guidance such as put the baby back to sleep after 1 hour of awake time and stretch the gaps between feeds to 2 hours has made such a huge difference to my milk supply and her sleep! Caroline is nothing short of amazing. Truly amazing. If we have a second baby, I plan to call Caroline first and my parents second. Caroline has the magical touch with babies and new parents. As first time parents, we worried about everything and had questions about everything. [Is our house too hot? Too cold? How do we cut our infant's nails? Is she breathing normally or should we be concerned about that wheezing sound? Is our baby eating enough? How do we help provide relief when she is cutting teeth? How does she sit with us at the dining room table when she is too little for a high chair? What's the best tear free, natural shampoo?] Caroline answered all of our questions in a patient manner, and shared her knowledge and advice in a calming, and never judgmental way. Caroline helped our baby work through gas and showed us techniques to use on the nights we didn't have Caroline with us. Caroline also helped me through some tough breastfeeding issues. Some of the most useful products we bought were ones Caroline recommended. Caroline is a treasure trove of information. Caroline is also incredibly thoughtful. She re-arranged her schedule to come over the night before I went back to work and stayed later in the morning to ensure that I got some sleep and was able to get out the door on my first day back. Caroline Meagher is quite simply the best thing that could ever happen to you upon the birth of your child. As a new mother, I was nervous taking my child home from the hospital and worried about my ability to breastfeed and Caroline, with her calming attitude and remarkable proficiency in all things baby and breastfeeding related, took all my fears away. Caroline helped us help our baby through terrible gas problems and reflux. She taught me how to breastfeed with ease (she is essentially your very own, in your home, day after day, lactation consultant -- proving she is even more bang for your buck). Caroline showed me how to use my pump and taught me how to make pumping an easy routine rather than an annoyance. She did things around our house without even being asked to -- she just knew what we needed. She is like a fairy godmother. Caroline also was the most amazing supporter I could have imagined in those early days when everything seemed so difficult and so brand new. She made our lives a million times easier and better. She is what every couple should have at hand upon the birth of a new son or daughter. Simply put, Caroline Meagher is amazing. AMAZING. This is the first time I've ever written a yelp review and I do so with tears in my eyes because the gratitude I feel for this woman is overwhelming. If you need a doula, work with Caroline.
