I am a very happy customer of Peninsula Sleep Center. A few years back, I did a sleep study here and was diagnosed with sleep apnea. They told me I qualified for a CPAP machine and it changed my life. I used to wake up multiple times during the night and my wife had to sleep in the other room because my snoring was so loud. Now I sleep like a baby and believe that the CPAP machine is adding years to my life. The staff at Peninsula Sleep Center is also awesome. Dr. Mehran Farid was the one who diagnosed my sleep apnea and has always been lightning quick in answering subsequent questions. The rest of the staff is very punctual about asking me if I need new supplies for my CPAP machine and so friendly when I go to pick up my items. I recommend them and give Peninsula Sleep Center a perfect 5/5. read more

CAUTION: I thought I was signing up for a sleep study. I met with a sleep Dr. for the initial visit. I took home the equipment for the home study. Wore the gear for 3 nights as requested. Then I scheduled my follow up with the same doctor for a video call (which lasted less than 5 minutes) to review my results. The initial visit was OK. I did the study at home. The follow up call was of no value. I paid for the initial visit and the follow up video call. Then... the surprise... I was bill an additional $1,398 ($699 x 2) for two "Outpatient Care" services from a doctor that I never met! I think this is genuinely unethical. I called and asked if it was a mistake. Someone in billing credited one of the two "Outpatient" charges. I shared that I had no intention of paying for either of them. I find this to be a truly unprofessional business practice. read more

I made several attempts to contact the sleep center and left multiple voicemails, but no one ever returned my calls. When patients are seeking help for sleep issues, timely communication matters. This has been a long time coming, I do not recommend the center, especially Grace. Although she was pleasant to speak to in a virtual visit that I had about roughly a year and a half ago, she did make suggestions on medication. I have menopause insomnia And never knew that you could get insomnia from that. It was never told to me that this would happen. I also have anxiety. She really felt this was all related to anxiety, which is probably half true. At the time, I was also dealing with the brain tumor, a sinus infection I would have surgery for, stomach, erosions, and acid reflux all in one day those things since have cleared up, but post menopause is something that will never go away. She did suggest medications that at the time I could not take. I have since reached out to her again. She did remind me of those things that she recommended in which I never followed up with due to the fact, my stomach was too sensitive at the time to take them. I was more upset that this was Just push towards anxiety. when post menopause is never going to go away. And it does say they're supposed to be able to recommend things like antidepressants is which is often used for post menopause insomnia, so you can sleep that was never brought up. In fact, she referred me to the Stanford sleep center instead. This place really made me wonder if there is anybody there who is experienced, but my experience has been with only one person. There were a lot of places with the appointment, but there was a lot of negative things that should've been addressed. read more

Only giving it one star because I can't give it zero. I went in February 2022 because of my snores. They set me up for a two night sleep study. The equipment they gave me did not work the second night. They asked me not to return the equipment due to Covid. Now (6 months later) I am still being sent bills for not only the sleep study that did not occur but also the equipment they sent with me. I have fought with their claims department who has stated multiple times that my case is closed, yet I am still receiving high bills from them months later. These people are unprofessional and unorganized and I would recommend going anywhere else for this service. read more

I make a point to write only positive reviews on Yelp. Maintaining a business is not an easy task, and I know how detrimental a negative review on Yelp might be on a business' livelihood. Unfortunately this review would be the first time in which I feel there's an importance in letting other consumers know they should beware of this business. My experience was that bad. My minor son was referred to this center by his pediatrician due to sleeping problems. It took me weeks and weeks to get a hold of anyone there and to finally schedule my son's intake appointment. I left numerous voice messages and written messages through their website but no one got back to me. I should have known better then and gone somewhere else, but unfortunately we didn't. Dr. Sinha, after interviewing my son and myself online via Telehealth decided my son needed a sleep study. Following the sleep study she decided he needed an aggressive orthodontic intervention. A second opinion we got from an excellent Stanford MD ruled out any need for orthodontic intervention, and questioned the initial need for a sleep study, to start with. Doing a sleep study in our son's case was a total waste of time and money with no medical necessity. The cherry on top was the awful way their billing department handled our case. For months I have left them messages asking them to mail me the bill, so we can pay them and be done with this place. Nobody responded. After a couple of months we have learnt they finally mailed us a bill but to a wrong address, which G-d knows where they got it from (a place we lived in 11 (!) years ago). Our written and oral messages with the right address, time and again, didn't make any difference. Just last week, almost 6 months since the service was provided were they finally able to mail it to the right address (with awful spelling mistakes of my name). The bill was partial, yet I paid it the same day. You can imagine how surprised and devastated I was to receive a letter from a collection agency earlier this week about a debt to the Peninsula Sleep Center (!). What the heck. Scheduling an appointment for even an at-home sleep study was quite difficult, and the receptionists weren't all that helpful in making the process smoother. However, my sleep technician William made the experience SO much better. William's cheerful attitude put an unexpected smile on my face all while explaining the technicalities of my at-home procedure. He was VERY willing to answer all my questions while being so joyful and friendly the entire time. William even went above and beyond to scan my new insurance card into the Sutter Health online portal. Request him if you can! read more

I recently had three heart procedures in a one year period. A friend suggested I have a sleep study performed. I resisted for some time until it was explained that poor sleep contributes to a poor heart. Doing everything online went smoothly, meeting with Dr. Farid cleared up a lot of misunderstandings I had, receiving and using the equipment was easy. They can provide the sleep study and results. They do an AWFUL job of handling patient needs. Once you have your CPAP they're a HUGE STRUGGLE to coordinate required CPAP replacement supplies. I've been on and off my CPAP machine for the past seven years and recently went back to have a sleep doctor review at the urging of my primary doctor. I chose Dr. Farid based on his strong professional background and the good reviews, and I'm sure glad I did. Dr. Farid is knowledgeable, patient, and very pleasant to interact with. He's very thorough in reviewing and explaining to me the result of my sleep report, and the options to address my issues. I never felt rushed despite asking him a long list of questions (my nature) for each visit. Their technician William is equally helpful and attentive, and you can see the same helpful and friendly culture among his office staff. I also found them to be very efficient and rarely did I have to wait for more than 10-15 minutes if at all. Here is the kicker, I actually sent my wife to another sleep center in the South Bay where my primary care doctor in Mt. View referred me to (and I'm going to tell him what happened!), but I didn't feel that they're good based on the reviews except that there's a doctor who has neurology and sleep medicine training, which I thought could help my wife's insomnia better (in the end my wife said he's good though Dr. Farid was better). What astonished me was that my wife was asked to sign a contract with the other sleep center to commit to pay her 10% co-pay of the "rent-to-own" CPAP machine under the guidelines of my insurance plan, that would be more than 6 times that Dr. Farid's office asked for the same machine, and that "10% co-pay" total over the year would be more than 3 times of what one could have bought from Dr. Farid's office outright WITHOUT the insurance! I knew their price was way off even before knowing Dr. Farid's office's price since everything is on the internet these days! Needless to say I immediately asked my wife to switch to see Dr. Farid, and she was equally impressed by Dr. Farid's knowledge and service. He again was very patient in discussing the diagnosis and explaining all the options, and was very helpful in addressing my wife's situation even knowing that her PPO coverage under me will be ending in less than two weeks by year end. Since most sleep centers have extra incentives in selling you the CPAP equipment and accessories, you want to go with a practice that is ethical, honest, and genuinely has your best interest in mind. Dr. Farid is the best sleep doctor that I've had and I highly recommend him and his office. read more

I have found Peninsula Sleep Center to be very professional, well organized and trustworthy as both a sleep test facility and provider of CPAP equipment and supplies. I worked with Will, who is friendly and explains the equipment and therapy in a straightforward and helpful way. I also did a home sleep study and don't know what Mike N. may have experienced, or on what basis he concluded that the Peninsula Sleep Center study was not accurate versus some other "FDA approved device" he self-administered. Perhaps the reason there were 10 hours of data was that the test device is set to start at a predetermined hour, and clearly the technicians and doctors know how to interpret that data -- if there was 8 hours of sleep within a 10 hour period. This seems like a case of "shooting the messenger" if he didn't like the findings. In any case, I'm very happy with the service I've received from Peninsula Sleep Center and am happy that I can get insurance-approved CPAP supplies directly from them instead of having to get them from CHME or Apria Health, both of which are difficult to do business with. read more

I have had a wonderful experience with Peninsula Sleep Center. I was referred by Dr. Nair and my PCP Dr. Bet because of my difficulties in falling to sleep and difficulties staying asleep, waking up every 2 hours during the night. The Doctor was absolutely amazing. I have sleep apnea, and use a CPAP machine and with the first appointment he walked me through a number of steps I could implement to improve my sleep pattern, arranged for a home sleep testing kit (Nightowls), and arranged to download and read my CPAP machine history. The office staff was so warm and welcoming and helpful and reset my CPAP machine, and my sleep experience is vastly improved. I hadn't had a sleep study done before but had all the symptoms of sleep apnea. I decided to try this test. As it turns out I did have obstructive sleep apnea. They really helped me through this whole process. Couldnt belive how easy this was. I picked up my home testing device, slept with it that night and brought it back. I got my report back to me in a few days and now I have a lab study scheduled because my suspected apneas were severe. Thanks to all for your help. read more

Do not use these people, especially if you have Brown and Toland Medical Group. I Made my appointment two months ago, the office phoned the day before my consultation to confirm the appointment in the A.M.. I received another call late in the afternoon cancelling the appointment because of their internal issues within their medical group. I offered to pay in advance and I would seek reimbursement later, I was told it was against the law because the office knew I had insurance. The office manager said everyone needs to be paid for their services, I asked what doe's that have to do with me I am the patient. She said their office had problems for the past 6 months with B & T. I asked why did they take and confirm the appointment two months ago? No response, I told her that it is frightening not knowing anything about sleep apnea, waking up multiple times grasping for air, "what about the hippocratic oath?" the manager replied that I could complaint all I want they do not receive that many referrals from B & T anyway. read more

I went for a test in August of 2017 and they sold my personal information to a third party who started cold calling me. When I inquired with the company I found the sleep center had sold everything, my name, date of birth, address, phone number, social security number, and information about the test I had. I had to file a complaint to get the company to stop calling me. Do not use Peninsula Sleep Center. Ask your doctor to send you to someone who will protect your personal information. read more

My first Yelp review here, but would not recommend this sleep center. 1. took 6 weeks to get first appointment.... 2. front office staff treated me as a nuisance and would frequently hang up on me, without calling me back! scheduling to get the CPAP was a joke. William is the only mildly professional there, but he's spread way too thin, and no one in the front office can schedule anything on his behalf. most of my frustration here is with the front office staff and their general disdain whenever I speak with them. Simple questions like "when can i get an appointment with William?" would throw them for a serious loop. I loved the "are you still there? pretending they couldn't hear me, then hanging up and not calling back. nice touch. I haven't interacted with a front office staff so unprofessional in a long, long time. If you want a sleep professional, and are happy to move really, really slow, don't mind being treated like a pebble in someone shoes, then this is the perfect place for you. Utterly unprofessional and haphazard operation. I showed up for my appt as directed at 9:00. Sign on the door instructs sleep center patients to ring bell and if no answer, call a number to reach a staff member. Fact is no one answered the bell or my call. VM message said 'leave name & no...or call back in 30 minutes'...so much for patient choice. I guess they expect patients to loiter outside like some sort of slum methadone clinic. Left a message...no response...called again, left another message...no response. Returned home, more than a little annoyed. Called a third time. Someone who identified the self as a sleep tech said wait a minute. In the background I could hear a dog barking. This is a state license, Medicare-certified professional health operation? Study not at all accurate. Used a take home machine for 8 hours yet they got 10 hours of data. Plus, I compared their data to my own using an FDA approved device and found their data showed I needed help. My data was normal. I will need to report this to my insurance company for review. read more

I saw Dr. Maren Farhid-Moyar yesterday for a follow up. I can now say that I have seen each clinician in this practice. He is very fkind, caring, knowledgable, & thorough. He did a complete lookover of past noted & the questioneer we feeled out. My BIPAP continues to work wonders & he is happy with the results. He made some further recommendations to improve treatment which I am taking to heart such as more walks & considering adjusting an antianxiety medication I am on. I now only have to come back once a year unless anything comes up before then. So, for excellent sleep care with a friendly staff & a friendly, thorough, knowledgable phyisician, Dr. Farhed & his staff cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys. read more

She was very thorough, answered all my questions, made good suggestions, and was easy to talk with.
