I am new to the area and I desperately needed any type of hair treatment. I found Caromia on Yelp and I was able to see her the same day I called for an appointment. She was very accommodating with the time which I really appreciated (I have full time very demanding job and I am a grad student). Caromia gave me her professional advised on what I needed done and I was so happy to have listened. She did a keratin treatment which was phenomenal. All my co-workers commented on it the next day. I truly looked like a different person. On top of that, she provided snacks and cappuccino :) This was very nice of her since I went from work straight to her salon and the keratin treatment took about 3 hours. Marleni is the best! She always puts her clients first and does excellent work. She will accomodate your schedule and even make house calls! I see her once a month to cut my hair (guys don't need much more :), but she also does my daughter's hair and nails. My daughter has very thick, long hair and it always comes out beautiful. Dangerous treatment! Horrible communication. Physically traumatic. Burned my scalp, burned my hair. Recovery will be longterm. Very harmful and painful. Beware! My appointment was for a Keratin with Restoration Treatment AND haircut. I was told when I made the appointment NOT to purchase on Groupon (even though I found it there). The owner Marleni indicated she would honor the price of $147 and told me to save my questions for when I arrived. At the appointment, I was told it was safe and organic and that it came from plants. Marleni said the keratin would make my hair softer and stronger and take the frizz out. What she didn't share was that it wouldn't wash out the same day, that it would burn my skin and that she would proceed to spend hours burning the gummy substance into each strand of my hair one small strip at a time, after she pried each section apart as if it were glued together while I winced and repeatedly asked her to stop hurting me. She had an assistant in the shop who didn't speak English who dropped the entire rolling cabinet of supplies on the floor and then put them back without cleaning them and then spent the rest of my appointment sitting in front of me just staring. So rude. Later, I realized those were the same tools being used to work through my sticky burnt hair. My hair is dark brown but many patches of it are now completely fried and burnt white ... hours later after washing my hair in the coldest water, my scalp feels like it was lit on fire. Because she had to pull so much to get through the glue (which she said afterwards had formaldehyde, the reason she said she used gloves), much of my hair fell out and continues to fall out. She said I complained too much but would not stop when I asked her to stop. I left several hours into the ordeal but before the 'rinse' or the haircut and still paid full price just for the ability to leave. It is going to take a lot of cold washes to deal with the burning and sticky residue. Worst part is the owner was so arrogant and had no remorse whatsoever. read more

Marleni is the best - She is a skilled stylist. I must have gone to 7 other salons in the past few years trying to seek someone who can get platinum/silver tones out of my dark brown hair. Those other salons failed to get me the right color, leaving me disappointed. Marleni is the sole skilled person that was able to do it! You must be patient if you want to get this color in one sitting (and have dark hair) - it may take a half a day. I got blackmailed!!! This is an addition to my previous review. Important that you read the first one. After just 1 week of having the eyelashes and loosing 50% of lashes, I called the salon requesting to fix this or to get my money back. The owner who did my lashes (refused to say her name) told me that she can fix it only if I remove my "horrible" review, as she called it. Of course that is not fair for me to do for the other customers. So I told her that I can't do that. She started yelling over the phone and lying how she spent 3 hours doing the lashes (when my appointment was 1 hour) and that she will never give me my money back. She never apologized or felt shameful and embarrassed for the poor job she did. Instead she was blackmailing me several times and demanding that I remove my review. She does not deserve to be in this business and give service. I wasted my money and time. She did a horrible, horrible job. read more

I went there for a hair cut and they had awful customer service. It was just me and two people who worked there. Besides asking if I was the 4:30 appointment they just spoke to each other in Spanish the entire time she was washing my hair like I was invisible. And then I told her I wanted a trim and she just cut my hair straight across in about 5 minutes. Didn't even trim my layers. She went to blow dry my hair and put no product in it, not even heat protectant. She didn't know what she was doing at all. Would never go here again read more

I had my hair cut, highlighted and roots colored in May of this year. It has taken me this long because it has taken me this long to get over it!!! I went to this salon, and particular stylist based on so many positive reviews. I guess I must have had my hair done on an off day, because I have never been so disappointed in a haircut and color, ever. I asked for a blunt cut bob and multi color highlights, what I got was neither. The color was so over processed that the stylist tried to cover it up with a ton of toner, which gave my "blond" highlights a purple hue. The conversation was just as bad, I had to hear about financial woes for over 3 hours!!!!! By the time I paid the $300 plus bill and got out of there I was physically and mentally exhausted! The stylist did take a photo of my hair after, and I asked her not to post it. I have to admit that when she asked how I liked it I said it was fine, I just wanted to get out of there. After I was able to take a closer look , I was mortified. I sent the stylist a text relating my disappointment and her response was for me to come back so that she could fix it. I have gotten a full set and a fill for eyelash extensions from Marleni and have been extremely satisfied with them! She has a great eye and made the lashes beautiful and natural. A good amount of my lashes lasted over 2 weeks-- I was supposed to get filled the week of the anticipated hurricane which I wasn't able to make, so I went back Monday (2 1/2 weeks later) and she gave me a thick set of lashes since I'm heading to Punta Cana for my wedding! Numerous people have asked me if they are my real lashes.. they all say it just looks like I have thick mascara on -- exactly what you hope people think!! I arrived on schedule and room was locked. I waited 15 minutes and then phoned. The woman answered and said she forgot our appointment and that she was now up in Jupiter...could I come there? I have had the hardest time finding a hair salon that I love since moving down here three years ago and I'm so happy to say I've finally found one! My hair is the thing I love most about myself and I'm very paranoid of who I let touch it but I was months overdue for a haircut and I was convinced to go to Caromia from the previous reviews and I do not regret it! She listened to exactly what I said I wanted while adding her input of suggestions before she did anything asking me questions throughout the whole cut. First time I went to this place it was not so bad. Needed a trim, stylist listened and did what was asked. Today went back in for a cut. Showed the stylist a picture and was very specific regarding length. She then proceeded to chop it all of. She then tried to sit there and convince me that i "would thank her later" and that she is stylist and knows best. Last time I checked, I'm the paying client. If what I asked for isn't possible for WHATEVER reason you explain that and talk through it with your client. You don't just do whatever you feel you want to do. Won't be returning. Called one day to see if I could get a hair appointment and Marleni took me in right away. I wanted to go back to my natural color, dirty blonde, and she knew the exact colors to combine to get my hair in a healthy condition (from bleaching myself it for several years). Marleni put in several foils to divide up the colors and even went back to dab some darker color on my roots to give a more natural appearance. She mixed a toner together and added it in during the wash. She also did a quick haircut for my curly hair and then blow dried it out. The cut was a bit expensive for a trim but my hair turned out great! Back to a natural color with highlights! Even got a compliment the next day saying how great my hair looked. Fantastic salon! Started with eyelash extension, continued with special powder dip manicure and pedicure. The day wouldn't be complete without one process color and conditioner, then blow dry.
