Guy seemed overwhelmed and reluctantly took my order. I showed up 30 min later and no one had any record of my order. I recognized the guy's voice and told him he took my order. He was pissed and got into a shouting match with me with 3 other customers around. He eventually apologized and offered a free side of meatballs and spaghetti (don't order that btw, super underwhelming). 2nd time: Wife placed an order for a pie with half pepperoni on their website. Came back with the order and the pie had full toppings. Small nit but annoying. 3rd time: I called at 6pm on a Thursday. No one picked up. Opted to place order on their website and got the same item as last time. Showed up at and the same miserable guy asked for my name and order... and then said he didn't have any order. I told him I placed an order on the website... and he said "You should have called." with an awful (only a mother can love) grin. I showed him my email confirming 6:20pm pickup time and he said he had no order... before pulling a pie with my name on it. I asked if it had half pepperoni and it didn't. Full toppings AGAIN. Clearly, their website is not equipped to actually take half toppings orders. Pizza is OK but not worth the headache or poor service here.

It almost felt as if i was visiting a relatives's home. After reading the reviews we opted for their best seller. The Chimi Pizza and the Bfast pizza. The Chimi tasted better than any Chimi I've ever had in NJ and reminded me of my late nights in NYC. I highly recommend this place and cant wait to visit again! We tried the Guava cheese cake and.... Lord have Mercy. It was simply delicious. I've never had that combination before and it was out of this World. It seems the owners have taken risks with your not so traditional pizza place and I must say...It truly has worked wonders. Im excited to go on a night they play music. That should be super fun! FYI: They have Vegan options

I'd been wanting to try it and was thrilled to find a new location nearby. During my first visit, I was impressed that even though we took the pies to go, they were still hot and crispy when we got home. The chimi pie was exactly as it should be--possibly even better than a NJ chimi I have had. We also ordered a plain pie for my son, who loved it, and a choco-flan. On a subsequent visit, we dined in and discovered that all pastas were 50% off on Wednesdays. I tried the chimi pasta and chicken Alfredo, both of which were delicious. The oxtail pie is a must-try if you enjoy flaky beef with a hint of sweet and spicy. We also enjoyed the flan and the Dominican juices and sodas. Wahizza is definitely worth a visit!

Checked out Barrow House after a farmers market visit and it was packed for a Sunday right at noon…read more Every room has a different vibe which makes the space feel really cozy and interesting instead of just one big dining room. We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to seat us in the dining room as long as we could wrap up before 1:30, which we appreciated. I wasn't super hungry so we shared the crispy cauliflower and lamb ribs from the appetizer menu. The crispy cauliflower was excellent -- hot, actually crispy, and not drowning in sauce which I really appreciated. The lamb ribs came over labneh (a yogurt base) and the first plate arrived with the lamb cold. I asked our waitress if that was intentional and she said only the labneh should be cold. They immediately replaced it with a fresh order and handled it really well, which I appreciated. Great service recovery and overall a really enjoyable brunch spot with a lively atmosphere.

We dined at the bar as we were seeking a drink and a light snack. Calamari was GF and delicious (wish it was more crispy tho)! We also ordered the GF dry rub wings. Amazing, crispy, flavorful! Ambiance: 10/10 Drinks: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Parking: 10/10 I wish the bar staff smiled. Though they were great at serving us and providing us our items accurately, most had the energy of a deflated balloon. A smile could have went the wrong way, or even a proper greeting. I'm going to assume it was simply a long day, and hope to see them in the future hopefully on a better note. They still received a 22% tip for their service.

All different, all very good. My wife went for the chicken special (kind of like a cassolette), my SIL ordered the salmon, which she always does and I ordered the Cavatelli Ragù Di Salsiccia, which was very good... served maybe a bit too al dente... but very good none the less. We all shared a nice bottle of Nebbiolo. (So NOT a BYOB)

Very warm, welcoming and chic. The service was great, our waitress was very helpful with recommendations. For my drink I got the Sage Whisper. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy gin. We ordered the Feta cheese turnover. It was good but could definitely be better. The block of feta was so massive that it overpowered the dish. If they use like half the amount of feta and added more honey it would've been perfect. I was also expecting apricot to be incorporated into it, but it was just on the side. If they had a layer of apricot jam inside that would literally take it to the next level. For dinner I ordered the Bistecca. My steak was could perfectly but the flavor was a little lacking. Luckily I love steak so i still enjoyed it but I think if it was sliced and topped with the chimichurri and some flaky salt it would've been a lot more flavorful. The steak was also a very generous portion. I did have my eye on the Orecchiette Rabe e Sausage. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely come back to try it.

The Brookdale 1099 Broad St…read more Bloomfield NJ 07003 The Big Cheese A member from my group page tipped me off about this location because I am currently working on a compilation reel about oversized menu items. This one pound mozzarella stick definitely fulfilled that criteria. It was so gigantic it was almost like getting a workout in just to lift it. The outside was heavily breaded with bread crumbs and the top was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and chopped scallions. Even the dipping cup was supersized to accommodate the diameter of the stick! Typically, I would have posted until after my I finished my oversized food compilation project. However, it's being posted early because The Brookdale is permanently closing its doors. I am truly sad to hear they will no longer be in business, but their three sister restaurants at 1109 Broad Street will still remain open. #thebrookdale #thebigcheese #bloomfieldnj
