On vacation and wife's ebike got a flat. I went tire and rim in hand and asked if he could change the tube for me. His response "we dont change tires on Friday's". Me "Uh ok, why are you wearing latex gloves like your working on bikes?" Him: "its just how i do business" Me: "f this. Theres another store 500ft down the road" He either doesn't know how to change a tire or picks and chooses who is going to have customer service. Either way this guy sucks. Oh yeah and he has his mom sitting in the store which could be heartfelt if he was a good guy. Went down to the next store and left with a new tube ready to install. Mario saved the day at Carp Sports! I had driven up to Carpinteria with friends for a day long bike ride only to realize I had forgotten my helmet once we arrived. I tried to contact 2 bike shops with no luck and as a last resort called Carp sports. Mario was able to loan me a used helmet for a small rental fee and send me on my way. BEWARE.. they do not stand behind their products or repairs. They were paid multiple times to fix the brakes on a bike. But the breaks kept seizing up. After putting old parts on multiple times and charging every time, nearly $200 later, they claimed it was not their responsibility. The problem lied with the rider and the previous owners. We were told to go elsewhere. read more

Carp Sports saved my Fourth of July plans! Hooray! They were open and ready for business when I discovered my beach cruiser had a bum tire-tube. I took it right over and the nice gentleman had it fixed within a half hour! There was hardly a glitch in my plans. He was so nice, explained my price point options really well, didn't try to sell the latest and greatest products, but wanted to make sure I was riding safe. You don't come across honest people like that very often. I've been a customer here before, but I'll be coming back here for all of my future tuneups for my cruiser. Horrible service. We drove there all the way from SB through Sunday traffic to find the owner closed the shop 45 mins before closing time. We knocked on the door and in the most rude way he said I can let you in only if you are going to buy something. Not a friendly owner, will not be doing business with them in the future. read more

I walked into Carp Sports on Saturday of 4th of July weekend for the first time and was pleasantly surprised to be greeting as I walked in. I found that they have a large selection of various sporting good even though the store is on the smaller side. I was looking at the bikes and accessories they had available and the sales person was very helpful. He was knowledgeable on the products and willing to hold an item for me until later when I could return. I will be a repeat customer! read more

Terrible service! I will never shop there again! After getting injured by the boogie board I bought there, I called and spoke with the owner. I ended up talking to him 4 times before I was able to make the trip from SB to Carp during his business hours. Once again on the day I finally drove down there, he confirmed that he was there and that he would let me exchange my board. I drove to Carp on a sunday afternoon JUST to make the exchange but when I got there he told me he didn't FEEL like he should be liable for the board. I wasted my sunday afternoon - time, gas and energy. He could have told me over the phone that he wasn't going to help me. Truly idiotic and disgusting customer service. read more
