One thing led to another and our new home was move-in ready in November 2020. We couldn't be happier with the build. We found Kerns to be easy to work with, flexible, and responsive. We were new to homebuilding and thus had numerous questions throughout the process. We didn't always get the answer we wanted but we always got an answer. Of importance was the quality of work and although I am neither in construction nor design, I can attest to the quality workmanship thanks to friends who are. Worth noting is that Kerns employs an in-house designer and we found her profoundly helpful. Contrast that with run-of-the-mill builders who instruct you to go "pick out what you want" and you can see the value in having someone dedicated to that space and willing to guide you. As one would expect, we have had minor issues since moving in but they have all been addressed in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Again, we couldn't be more pleased with our new home and highly recommend Kerns Homebuilders for all the right reasons. Trust me - you'll feel right at home.

We finally get the couch and it's broken. It is over 10 weeks and we still don't have a functioning couch. I understand that they are working with the furniture company, but they can't even tell us whether it will be repaired or order a new one?! Are they even in contact with the company? Buyer beware- especially if you are ordering something from the st Joseph location!!! Update: we got the couch fixed. They picked it up, fixed it, and delivered it back. The people delivering and another woman I worked with in the situation were very nice. I am keeping the rating at 1 star because the manager was horrible. I HAD to go down there and make a scene for the manager to even talk to me (I had requested to talk to him multiple times on the phone and he never seemed to be there). Not until I went down there yelling (I had previously gone down there and been nice) did he make any effort to resolve my issue. He never apologized and appeared visibly angered he had to deal with my situation. I had to force him to give me a date they were going to pick it up. I will NEVER shop there again.
