He called me and scheduled a quote estimate visit within the same week, and soon after, sent over a quote. This process was very seamless and efficient. Steve was very professional, on time, and finished the job quickly. The job was a bit tough because slate is a very porous stone, and my floors had an oil-based sealant on them, so he had to remove the sealant first and then clean the floors, which was laborious. Nevertheless, the floors came out excellent and looked dramatically different (in a very good way!). He also applied a hospital-grade disinfectant to my floors, which was a nice touch. Pricing was very reasonable and fair, and Steve was very transparent about pricing from his initial visit, which I appreciated very much. For many years I used a different and amazing carpet cleaning company. When they left, it looked like brand new carpet! My boyfriend wanted to try Stanley Steemer, so I reluctantly agreed to it. According to reviews, they did warn about how they will try to upsell you. Which of course he did within the first 5 minutes of arriving. I firmly said no I only want what I had scheduled for. I have 2 cameras in the room he was cleaning the carpet in. I was watching him the entire time and saw what he did or did not do. He did not pretreat any stains (their customer service rep said they are supposed to), and missed many spots. When he was finished which was about 20 minutes later I went to see the carpet and it looked terrible. I pointed things out to him and he got very defensive. I told him the previous carpet cleaning company always had the carpets look beautiful and I couldn't understand why ours did not remotely look like that. Instead of being professional and working on it some more so we were satisfied with it, he got very combative and confrontational. Almost to the point of scary. It just seemed like he wanted to get in and out of here and go home. I contacted customer service and spoke with an amazing and wonderful rep named Debbie. She went above and beyond and said she reached out to his manager and I should be expecting a call back. Debbie even went as far as calling me at 7:30 pm tonight to see if he called. As someone who is a supervisor and leads a team on daily basis, I completely agree on ensuring everyone is safe, especially when weather can be dangerous. In the text message the guidance given is to reach out to the company and reschedule. The very next day on March 1 I reach out to the company to reschedule. I receive a text message back two hours later stating that there is an opening on Thursday, 2 March at 12:30pm. I agree to the appointment. The day of, at 12:30pm I text at 1231 and mention that I am home, please advise when you arriving. No arrives, calls, or even sends a text. The company is a no show. I call at 1246 and no one picks up. I receive a response at 2:07pm I'm guessing from the owner since the person never identified themselves mentioning that they have COVID and have been hospitalized since Tuesday night and that there secretary was supposed to reach out to me an led cancel. I text back to summarize my experience and mention that maybe the secretary needs more training and it would have been nice to have received a phone call so I could schedule with someone else. I receive another text message that I felt was unprofessional and telling me that we are all "human" and that "this is not in my hands" and that "I have a second job, I work in a hospital, maybe I get infected there" as there are continuous apologies. Here are my concerns: 1.) When originally canceling the appointment due to weather, sickness, etc it should NEVER fall on the client to be the one to reschedule. Proper customer service entails the company reaching out to the client and making the effort to reschedule. This shows that the clients business is indeed important. 2.) The need to communicate through text message should be limited. Pick up a phone and actually talk to your client. This can help alleviate any misconstrued information and it shows your clients that they matter. I wish I could have experienced what the other reviewers experienced, however, the ball was dropped big time. I'm also in the process of moving out of my condo in two days, and this experience really didn't help.
